Chereads / You Started It First / Chapter 5 - 5| End time

Chapter 5 - 5| End time

"Your life is in great danger but I'll save you."

"Wait, who the fuck are you? And why can't you stop bothering my dreams?"

"Will you allow me talk?"

"No! I don't even know you. I have no business or connection with you but you keep appearing in my dreams since…..since I was eighteen."

"That's because I am destined to save you."

"Save me? Pfft! You haven't even save yourself from the ocean and you're talking bout me. Listen, I don't give a fuck if you're a mermaid or you have super powers on your own. All I ask for is that you stop tormenting my dreams. For goodness sake I've only seen you once in reality and—"

"Correction. Twice."

"Once!"

"Twice….."

"Once!"

"I won't argue with you. I'll just tell you what I want and leave."

"Oh please fuck off."

"There are some men heading into the city tomorrow from across the sea. They'll disguise in Navy uniform. They're sent to kill you by some of your enemies, but don't worry, I'll save you. And secondly, your mother is very ill—"

"She has leukemia, yes I know but how did you know, witch."

"Please, stop calling me that."

"Why? Does it piss you off? You know what? You somehow look like someone I've seen for real but she doesn't have this...this image of a fish and human like."

"I know who you're talking about. She's a final year geography student in Los Angeles university but am not her."

"Whatever."

"I'll put a tablet under your pillow. Please dissolve it in water and give her to drink. She'll be fine and free from leukemia forever."

"How do I trust you?"

"Don't believe me. I won't beg you to. Then watch your mother lose her life."

"Never!"

"Thirdly, there's a deal coming your way. Please ensure to sign it up. It'll make you twenty times richer than how you are now."

"My net worth reads billions of dollars already. I'm fucking rich, baby."

"This deal will rise your bank account to trillions. Make sure to sign it."

"Are you commanding me or what?"

"Justin, you're so stubborn."

"Ah, interesting. You already knew my name, now, may I know yours, witch?"

"Please, stop addressing me as that. And please don't disclose our conversation to anyone or else….. you'll die if you do so..."

............

Her last words echoed out of his dream. He woke up breathing heavily and sweating like he just had a cold shower. His eyes raked the room. It's still pretty dark. He turned on the lamplight and discovered that he was the only one on the bed. He lifted the sheets. He usually goes to bed naked and still, he remains that way, nothing changes.

His eyes went to the big open window. The wind blew the curtains, displaying the beautiful night sky. The moonlight shines its reflection into the room. He reached for his phone to check the time. It was just 5:08 in the morning. There's still enough time for him to gym.

Something recalled in his head, and he lifted the pillow to take a look. "The tablet….." He took the little white tablet with one finger and began to stare at it intently.

He thought it was just a dream. But the dream somehow felt so real. He was seated at the beach side on the white clay sand in the middle of the night talking to a mermaid who was seated on a rock on top the ocean. She was so beautiful in his eyes and she has a sweet indian accent like he has heard it before.

This was the first time in twelve years he had heard her speak to him. Other nights, she'd just show herself and dive back into the ocean but today...he studied her tantalizing pearl upper body and Blue Aphrodite elite tail that has sparking diamonds like silver shinning on it.

He wished he could touch it as she waggle it up and smash it on the water.

.......

"Good morning, Sir."

"Good morning, Mrs. Hemsworth." He greeted the head baker and pointed at the glass of water in her hand. "Who has that?"

"Her Excellency, sir."

"Let me have it."

"Sir?"

"I'm on my way to her room, so I'll just give it to her."

"But, sir—"

"I insist." This could be the only way he could make his mother drink the tablet. She handed it to him and left. A smile of success crest on his lips as he sneakily dropped the tablet into the water.

.......

"This is Ramona's duty. Why didn't she bring it to me herself?" Adela frowned, seeing her son standing before her with a glass of water.

"Oh, I sent her to do something for me. It's urgent." He rake his fingers through his 'under cut man bun.' "Here, have it while it still very warm."

"Thank you." She accepted and gulped the whole content.

Justin stood there, crossed his arms as he watch her empty the glass but his mind was pounding fast in his chest. If anything bad happens to her, he won't forgive himself and he won't forgive that aqua creature thing too.

His brows lifted when Adela licked her mouth, still tapping the last drop on her tongue. "Hmm, is tastes so good like sugar and ORS in water."

"Does it?"

"What source did Ramona got it from?"

"The usual, I guess." Justin is so confused. Is it that the tablet is sugary? "Mom?"

"Hmm?"

"You mean the water was sweet?"

"Delicious, my dear. Now I want more. Tell Ramona to bring more for me."

This is so ridiculous. Unbelievable. Justin took out his phone from his pocket and contacted the family doctor.

"She is leukemia free." The doctor examined.

"How do you mean." Ben would be the last person to believe his ears. He looked at his son who was still in confused shock. "Didn't we do some check up on her last week and they repeated the same statements?"

"Dad, am still surprised." Justin's brows furrowed as he stares at Adela who was super excited about the news.

"There's no problem if you don't believe me. You can try another physician." The doctor suggested.

"Thank God, am free from leukemia. Now, I can live long and see my grandkids, right Justin?"

Grandkids, grandkids. When will she put up with that? He is here busy thinking of how a single tiny tablet could cure a sickness of ages overnight and all she could think of is carrying her grandkids—his own seeds.

......

Two black Maybach escort following them behind and one at the front. The two men in business suits settled at the back seat of the red Mercedes sedan which was at the middle of the Maybachs.

"That's preposterous!" Max exclaimed. "Aunt has been diagnosed with leukemia for years as long as I remember, it is not easy to recover from it so how come?" His words in a rush.

Justin adjusted his coat, "I don't know." Max could be trusted but Justin doesn't want to die. If she could heal his mother with a little tablet then how much is death with a snap of her finger?

"When my mom told me about it, I almost choked on my breakfast."

"Take it the way you see it, Max. Life changes."

"Do you really think...it just kinda happen? I don't think so, dude. Something must be playing somewhere."

Justin laughed. "And what's that? Can I know?"

"Sir?" The chauffeur drew their attention. "There's a tsunami in the city. I think we have to go back to white house."

"Why? Keep on going."

Max's eyes bugged at his cousin, "A tsunami? Dude, are you mad?"

"What?" Justin whined. "We have a deal to sign up this morning." After all, he knew the tsunami was working for his favour.

"Fuck the deal and save our lives, idiot! Those men won't even make it after this disaster coming up."

"They will. Trust me." Justin was so confident in his words, fixing his tie.

Max's mouth parted in agape. He is still wondering if his cousin was alright or maybe left his brain at home. He place the back of his hand on his neck, "Your body temperature is normal but your brain is abnormal."

Justin slapped his hand off.

"Sir," The chauffeur interfered again. "I was just told now that the tsunami has stopped."

"Huh?" Max gasped. "It doesn't works like that." Of a truth, it's doesn't goes that way. It takes few time to settle but this tsunami is so different. "Was that even a tsunami? The sky was dark ahead of us few minutes ago and now am seeing a bright cloud smiling up in the sky?" He looked at Justin and shouted, "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?"

"Endtime." Justin chuckled and faced the window. So it's true. Everything she talked about last night. He can't imagine the number of dead bodies lying on the beach by now. He is not a fan of daily news but he'll purposely sit to watch tonight's news at 7.
