Chapter 7 - 7| My cupcake

"Is there something you're hiding from me, son?" After the argument between father and son, Adela had to go see her son in private to ask him his reasons.

He grumbled, lying on the bed with arms crossed above his head, "Mom, there's nothing."

"How can you say there's nothing?" She provoked. "It was your dad's best friend's birthday party and you restricted him from leaving. There must be something that made you say so."

"I already told you, mom. Dad can't go to that party. It's dangerous."

"And who told you so, huh?" She placed her hands on her waist. "You don't even know anything. All you do know is work your ass in the office at day and fuck a hundred girls at night. That is what you're very good at doing."

Justin pointed to the empty space on the bed. "See? No one except the both of us in this room. I can't even remember the last time I slept with a woman. It's been long now and I know it's not easy for me, mom." It's the truth. Since he started having a chat to chat with the mermaid, he never had urges of touching other women.

"You put yourself that way."

"Am just trying to build a clean reputation for myself." He mumbled.

"Your father is so pissed at you right now." She stood up and left.

"You'll thank me if you find out my main reasons, mother." He murmured when she bang the door on her way out.

He looked up to the ceiling and exhaled. He wanted to get a quick sleep so he could talk to his mermaid friend again but the sleep wouldn't come when he needed it. Though, she already told him that he will no longer see her in his dreams again and he believed she meant her words.

His eyes traveled round his room, still waiting for her to appear. But still no sign of her for a long time now. He stares at a spot in his room, imagining her seated on the big open window as the curtains moved randomly. He wished his imagination could come to reality now.

For the love of God, why is he hallucinating about her? Why? He shouldn't be doing this. It doesn't seem like his own thing to do. But he has come to enjoy her company around him. He wished he could know her name. If only she could tell him her name.

He sighed in dismay, turning on his side. Where is she now? He needed to thank her for the revelation of her father and uncle. Max called him and told him that he should thank his friend for saving his father's life. The people who boarded that flight didn't come out alive. They all perished. Unknowing to Max that, that one friend was more than a friend. If not for her, it would have been another story by now. They would have been planning a burial for two brothers. His father and his uncle.

But come to think of it, who are these people and what do they want? Why is it that the rich find it hard to obtain peace? And the poor are just left to suffer without people coming to harm their lives?

With all the protections and guardians around his family, he never thought that one day, they'll meet deadlines. The joy would have turned into sorrow by now if not for her. And now that he needed her the most, to share the glory with her, she's no where to be seen.

"Where are you, sparkling angel?" He whispered, falling asleep slowly.

He could have called Francesca and ask her about whatever she's hiding secretly but it won't make sense doing that. He doesn't have any clues yet. He just hope he could find out whatever it is soon. He is so eager to know.

......….

It was a bright Saturday morning. Justin woke up, dressed in an all white and white to match sport wear. It's weekend and his friends are in the field waiting for him. They usually play sports during the weekends. Sometimes, they'd go to the arcades. The staffs greeted him as he jogged down the stairs looking so cute and stunning with his hair tied in a man bun. He had a golf ball and stick in one hand.

Just when he was about to head out to the golf area in the field, he remembered his phone upstairs. He cursed himself for forgetting one of his vital stuffs when it's not yet evening. He ran back upstairs to get it.

Francesca giggles made him stop by when he almost passed her door. He pressed his ear on the door when he discovered that she was flirting with someone which seems to be on a call with her.

Of a truth, he can't really remember the last time he saw his sister in a relationship.

"You're making my head spin." She laughed. "Aww, you're such a darling. You know, I always say to myself how lucky I am to have you as my boyfriend...yes of course...okay, I'll catch up with you downstairs. I need to take my bath. Love you."

So she finally has a boyfriend after ten exes? And the guy is here too?

Justin thought to himself.

When he heard the sound of running water coming from the inside, he sneaked into the room.

Eww. His sister is so messy. Just look at how she flaunts her underwear, bras and lacy thongs everywhere. But that is not what he came to witness. He checked around for her phone and found it under the pillow. He scroll it to recent calls.

The name 'My cupcake.' Was italicized with an heart sticker. He quickly copied the number into his phone so he could check on the guy's Whatsapp DP. But when he wanted to save it, the same number appears to be another name which was already saved in his contact book. 'Tristan.'

At first, he was shocked. So shocked that it was his best friend dating his younger sister. But after two seconds, he was mad. Angry. Busted. Furious. And pissed.

His fingers tightened around the phone, sure enough to crack it up with his bare hands. Veins popped on his forehead. His muscles flexed as he glares at the bathroom door with eyes of rage. Though, she was humming sweet songs under the shower, she never knew what was happening behind her back.

He took the phone with him and barged out of the room.
