Chapter 33 - First Morning

Seraphina Rose closed her eyes, seeking solace in the darkness. She curled her hands and legs closer to her body, leaving a space between them. They both remained on their respective sides of the bed, maintaining a physical distance.

Sleep eluded her in the initial moments, as an unfamiliar sensation coursed through her body. Sharing a bed with a man was a new and peculiar experience, one that felt out of character for her.

A sigh escaped her lips, and she sat up, unable to surrender to slumber. The struggles with sleep surfaced, and she gazed at the moonlight streaming through the window, illuminating the room.

"I thought my inability to sleep was due to exhaustion, but this... it's making me anxious," she pondered silently. Her eyes wandered around the room, the unease stemming from Damian's sudden and unexplained distance. It made no sense to her, and she sighed once more.
