Chapter 32 - Freaking Big Base

I followed the Hunters deeper into the underground tunnels until we arrived at their base. The tunnels opened up into a massive hall filled with tents, weapons, and supplies. The smell of wood smoke and roasted meat wafted through the air, and the sound of chatter and laughter echoed off the walls.

The tents were made of a deep green canvas, with the emblem of Artemis - a crescent moon with a bow and arrow - emblazoned on each one. The canvas was strung up between tall, wooden poles, and the interiors were cozy and inviting, with furs and blankets draped over makeshift beds and cushions strewn about on the floor.

As I walked through the hall, I saw hunters going about their business. Some were tending to wounds sustained in the battle with Helios' army, while others were training with swords and bows, their movements precise and deadly.

I saw hunters on patrol, their weapons at the ready, watching for any signs of danger. They moved silently through the shadows, their movements like those of a predator stalking its prey.

But not all hunters were in battle mood. In a corner there was a group of depressiv hunters who surrounded a fire. Some had afraid looks in there eyes, others were whimpering. There was no sign of braveness in them. There Moral was broken from the defeat against Helios.

At the end of the hall was the headquarters, a tent much larger than the others. It was guarded by two hunters, who nodded at us as we approached.

Inside, the atmosphere was tense. The hunters were gathered around a map of the fortress, plotting their next move. They were discussing how to free Artemis from Helios' dungeon and how to defeat his army once and for all.

As I listened to their situation, I understood how difficult the situation was.

The commander of the Hunters stood up and walked to the front of the room. "Gather around everyone, I have some important news," he announced, his voice serious. The Hunters who were scattered around the room all stood up and gathered around him, waiting for him to speak.

"As you all know, we have been fighting against Helios and his army for a long time now. We have lost many good Hunters in the process, and our morale has been low. But I have some good news, we now have more troops than ever before. The survivors of the battle have joined us, and we have a total of 50 hunters," he said.

There was a murmuring among the hunters, and some of them looked up in surprise. They had no idea they had gained so many new members.

"However, many of our Hunters are wounded, and our morale is still broken. We need to defeat the 5 Admirals if we want to have a chance of freeing Artemis from the Helios Dungeon," he continued.

Just then, I could not hold quite and bursted out. "Commander, I have killed the 5 Admirals!" he exclaimed, interrupting the Commander.

There was a stunned silence in the room, and the Hunters looked at the protagonist in disbelief. "What did you say?" the Commander asked, unable to believe his ears.

"I have killed the 5 Admirals," the protagonist repeated. "They tried to kill me, before I could get deeper into the fortress, but I came out as the victor , and I succeeded."

The Commander's eyes widened in shock, and then he broke into a smile. "You have done us a great service, my friend. The Admirals were said to be very strong, and now that they are gone, we have a chance to take control of the tower."

The commander of the Hunters stood up from his chair and began to pace back and forth in front of the group. He seemed deep in thought, trying to come up with the best strategy for their mission.

"We have a chance now," he said finally, "but we must not let our guard down. The vassals will be on high alert after losing their leaders, and they will be looking for any opportunity to strike back. We must be prepared for anything."

As the Hunters began to gather their weapons and supplies, I checked my own equipment, making sure everything was in order. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, adrenaline coursing through my veins. This was going to be dangerous, but we had to save Artemis.

The commander turned to me. "Hyas, your job is crucial. We need you to protect us as we make our way inside the dungeon. The vassals will surely try to stop us, and we cannot afford any casualties."

I nodded, feeling a surge of adrenaline as the mission ahead became more real to him. He had faced dangerous situations before, but nothing like this.

As the Hunters finished their preparations, the commander called for them to gather around. "Remember, we are fighting for our goddess and for our freedom. We must be brave and we must be strong. And most importantly, we must work together."

The Hunters let out a loud cheer, their spirits lifted by the commander's words. They formed their teams and set off towards their assigned tasks, moving quickly and silently through the tunnels.

I stayed close to the group, my senses alert for any sign of danger. As they made their way towards the dungeon tower, I could hear the distant sounds of vassals moving about. The tension was palpable, but the Hunters remained focused and determined.

I took a deep breath and tried to steady my nerves. This was it - the moment we had been preparing for. The mission to rescue Artemis was about to begin.

The commander's words rang in my ears. My job was crucial - to protect the group as we made our way inside the dungeon. I felt the weight of that responsibility on my shoulders, but I was determined to see it through.

As we moved through the tunnels, my senses were on high alert. The sound of vassals in the distance made my heart race, but I tried to stay focused. I couldn't let fear cloud my judgement.
