I scanned the area, hoping to spot a group of centaurs. It didn't take long before I saw a herd of centaurs grazing in a nearby field. I approached them cautiously, unsure of how they would react to my presence.
One of the centaurs, a wise-looking elder with a gray beard, noticed me and approached me. "Greetings, young warrior," he said. "What brings you to our lands?"
"I am on a mission to rescue my friend Chiron," I replied. "He has been captured by a group of ruthless bandits who have taken him to their stronghold in the land of sun. I was told that the centaurs could guide me there."
The elder centaur nodded thoughtfully. "The land of sun is a treacherous place, and the bandits there are known to be ruthless. However, we can guide you there, but only if you prove yourself worthy of our trust."
"I will do whatever it takes," I replied, determined to prove my worth.
"Very well," the centaur said. "We will lead you to the land of sun, but first, you must pass a test. We will take you to the sacred forest, where you will face a challenge that will test your courage and strength."
Without further ado, the centaurs led me to the sacred forest, a dense thicket of trees and shrubs. They left me alone, telling me that I had to complete the challenge on my own.
I took a deep breath and stepped into the forest. The air was thick with the scent of pine and damp earth, and the sound of rustling leaves filled my ears. I walked deeper into the forest, my heart pounding with anticipation.
Soon, I came across a clearing, where I saw a massive tree standing in the center. The tree was so tall that its branches reached the sky, and its trunk was wider than ten men standing side by side.
As I approached the tree, I noticed that there was a small opening in its trunk. I squeezed through the opening, and I found myself in a dark chamber. The air was stale and musty, and I could barely see my hand in front of my face.
Suddenly, I heard a loud growl, and I knew that I was not alone. I braced myself for whatever was coming, but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw.
A massive beast emerged from the shadows, its eyes glowing in the darkness. Its fur was matted and dirty, and its teeth were sharp as knives. I knew that I had to fight for my life.
The beast lunged at me, and I swung my sword, striking its head with all my might. The beast recoiled in pain, but it quickly recovered and charged at me again. This time, I dodged its attack and plunged my sword into its heart, dealing the fatal blow.
With the beast defeated, I emerged from the chamber, feeling a sense of accomplishment. The centaurs appeared, impressed with my bravery and strength.
"You have proven yourself worthy," the elder centaur said. "We will guide you to the land of sun. Follow us. I have seen your strength and it is not enough to rescue your friend. You will have to look for the speer of sun."
With the centaurs leading the way, I set off towards the land of sun, my heart filled with hope and determination. I knew that the journey ahead would be long and stressful.
But with the guidance of the wise centaurs, I felt that I was better equipped to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The sun beat down on us as we made our way through the valley, the heat almost unbearable. I was grateful for the centaurs' knowledge of the terrain, as they led me through winding paths that provided shelter from the sun.
As we traveled, the elder centaur shared stories of his people and the history of the land. He spoke of the time before the gods, when the earth was ruled by the titans, and of the great war that ended their reign. He told me of the rise of the gods, and of the creation of man. I listened intently, fascinated by the tales of myth and legend.
As night fell, we made camp at the edge of a river. The centaurs started a fire, and we shared a meal of roasted fish and bread. The elder centaur pointed to the sky, where the stars twinkled like diamonds.
"See that constellation?" he asked, pointing to a group of stars in the shape of a horse. "That is the constellation of Pegasus, the winged horse. He was a creature of great power and speed, and he was ridden by the gods themselves."
I gazed up at the stars, marveling at their beauty. I felt a sense of awe and wonder, realizing how small and insignificant I was in the grand scheme of things.
The next day, we continued our journey, passing through vast fields of wheat and corn. The air was filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers, and birds sang in the trees. I felt a sense of peace and tranquility, as if the land itself was welcoming us.
As we traveled, we encountered other creatures of the land. We saw herds of wild horses, grazing peacefully in meadows. We came across a pack of wolves, their eyes glowing in the darkness. The centaurs approached them cautiously, and after a brief standoff, the wolves backed off, allowing us to pass.
As we traveled further, the terrain became more difficult. We had to cross treacherous mountains and deep ravines, and the heat of the sun was replaced by cold winds that cut through our clothes. But through it all, the centaurs remained steadfast, leading me through the toughest terrain with ease.
Finally, we arrived at the land of sun, a barren desert that stretched as far as the eye could see. The sand was scorching hot, and the air was so dry that it was hard to breathe. But even in the midst of such harsh conditions, the centaurs were undeterred. They led me through the desert, pointing out landmarks that I would have otherwise missed.
After what seemed like an eternity, we arrived in an old ancient city on the ground of another mountain and I was not happy about that.
„We will rest in the city of sun and cross the mountain tomorrow". The centaur said.
