"Lucas"She held his hand from moving further. Her face completely flushed.
"What?"He tilted his head innocently, giving her a question look and Lisa was quick to respond.
"I.. I think I'm healed now" Her answer made him smile showing off his slightly longer than canines. Him smiling was a rare occurrence and in some way it looked both daunting and charming.
She internally shook her head. What was she thinking, this was going to far.
"Is that so?"She heard him ask and she realised they were still on the topic.
"Yes, I'm very sure" With that said he nodded and went to the other side of the bed wearing his gloves thereafter making himself comfortable on the bed. It was then she started having second thoughts on what she had just done. Had she willingly giving her room to the devil?.
Adjusting her blouse, she stared at the ceiling of her room in deep thought. It was only now she had the leisure of going back to the things she had just experienced today. Rewinding the things that happened, what one of them said caught her attention.
'I heard that you were protected by the most powerful guardian, where is he, call him now'
She was sure she heard those same words from him. Could Lucas be the person they were talking about?. But then the next question would be did she know any other person that was stronger than him?.
Replaying how Lucas had coldly killed the brown haired one, Lisa was sure that anyone that was stronger than him had to be a god.
She wanted to know the truth. All the years of her life that she stayed here, never had she encountered things like this, so why now?.
Placing her hand on her chest she touched the necklace that hid beneath her clothes. Sometimes she forgot that she wore it but in times like this, it comforted her in a strange way. She didn't know were it came from but she never took it off.
Peeking through the corner of her eyes, she checked if Lucas had fallen asleep but saw that he had his back turned to her. Slowly, she stylishly moved closer to inspect if he had fallen asleep.
"If I didn't know you I would have thought that you were a stalker."He said sarcastically and she stopped, embarrassed. Lifting her hands she placed it on the back of his head, frantically searching for something all the while scattering his hair. He spun to face her, glaring angrily.
"if you have a good explanation for what you just did then I can probably regard you as somewhere close to your right senses."
She gave him an awkward smile and replied"I was searching for the third eye that you had hidden behind your head."
Lucas"...."
"It's just that you always know what I'm doing and the only normal explanation is that you have a secret third eye hidden somewhere behind your head" She narrated to him carefully, occasionally checking his change of expression. But it was hard to watch someone's expression change when they had only a stoic look.
Unknown to her, Lucas' stoic face was far off from the thoughts that were running in his head.
'She was a different specie, yes.. that was the only explanation.' He nodded his head in understanding and looked at her in pure pity.
'How sad'
Realising this was a right time she chose to ask him. "Lucas are you a guardian..my guardian?"
Lucas who expected this question didn't look surprised when she questioned him.
"What do you think?"He asked her back and she sighed internally. What did she expect?.
"I don't know, that's why I'm asking you"She had some doubts so she wanted to confirm it from him.
"Maybe"He answered back and she forced a smile on her face. He must be planning to die in her hands.
"I'll take your maybe as a yes."She informed him and he relaxed his back, resting on the headboard.
"Any more questions?"He asked uninterested.
"But why..why do I have a guardian?."That was one part she didn't understand. One needed a guardian when they needed protection right?. What did she need protection from?.
Lucas lazily opened his eyes and stared into her deer-like eyes that were clouded in confusion. "Those people who tried to kill you are creatures called demons. I can't say much but I will tell you what you need to know. Somehow you have ended up as the greatest enemy of the demon race."
As if the shocks she had been receiving wasn't enough, now she was dropped with this news. First things first, his answer had confirmed that demons were actually real. And for that she needed a lot of time accepting it, but now he was telling her that she was the enemy of every single one. The smile on her face faltered.
'How convenient' She thought sarcastically.
"Lisa?"She heard him speak and she paid full attention to what he was going to say. Probably another bad news.
"Try not to fall in love with me, it will be the best for both of us" She could hear the weight each word carried.
Lisa's heart skipped at this. How was he so sure she was going to fall for him?. The face he gave her made her have many different thoughts but one was more persistent.
Was she already falling for him?
"I'm not going to fall in love with you, don't worry"She assured him but she herself wasn't convinced. Seeing as he had nothing else to say, she quickly tried to turn around but ended up stopping when he called.
"Lisa, face me"
She faced him immediately shocking herself. This was not her own doing, he was going to do that same thing to her again!.
"Did you hear anything from those two men?."He asked her cautiously.
Lisa tried to stop herself from talking but willingly opened her mouth."I didn't hear anything"
He nodded his head and looked deep into her eyes"You will feel sleepy now"
She yawned and lay down tiredly muttering to herself"I'm so tired."
