He had almost lost his soul when the royal medics had given up hope finding no cure. The king had almost cried out of pain and agony but stopped when he saw his second daughter rush in to check on her second mother.
She had commanded other to back away in dominance , reassuring that the woman was going to be alright. And look, his daughter had stood upto her promise. She did snatch his wife from the doors of death.
Tears of relief filled the mans eyes. Oh how he thanked the lord above for his mercy.
"Mother."
Iah Moonshail hugged her second mother, taking in her mother's scent. The maternal warmness coming from the woman seemed to have washed away all her pain and concerns.
She didn't tell anyone, but the indigo fruit she had found could only help upto forty years of the cultivation. The remaining sixty years of a cultivation were taken from her elemental core and her cultivation of eighteen years.
She had felt her elemental core slipping away slowly accompanied by the excruciating pain.
"My child, you have worked hard. Mother's here ,rest now."
Mother Aray embraced her daughter tightly in her arms. The girl might not have been her biological daughter but she was still her most beloved treasure. She had seen this little angel grow up infront of her eyes.
All the three princesses were exceptional and bestowed with phenomenal powers yet this child was the only one who could willingly risk her life if asked to protect their land without a shred of hesitation.
She has loved this daughter of her's more than anyone or anything. How could she not be pained when she clearly sensed her child's sacrifice and suffering.
Mother Aray swapped her hands across the little girl's head, casting a sleeping spell over her. She sat holding her daughter for a long while patting her back gently in an attempt to ease the little girl from her pain.
Mother Aray turned to look at her other two daughters after she layed down Iah on the bed.
"Come to second mother, my angels."
The king's second wife signaled the two girls to come to her. Diana and Esmaray referred her and the other two wife's as mother followed by their ranks. The queen was the only one who they addressed as mothers.
Iah Moonshail was the only one who would address all four of them as mothers without following the ranks or royal titles. The girl was not concerned about the queen feeling disrespected or indignant.
Who didn't know that the queen favoured the first and last princesses as treasured while mistreating the middle one.
It was said that the queen was pregnant with twins in her second pregnancy. During her pregnancy, the high priest had predicted that one of the daughters would bring great blessings to the land while the other would be the sign of catastrophe.
However, no one would have expected one of the twins to come out still born. The queen knew she herself was the one who had caused the second twin's death.Unfortunately, to salvage the situation and in fear of losing her position as the queen, the lady hid the truth.
The greedy queen had blamed the death onto a newborn life, who was too young to know and too young to express. Since then, everyone, including, Iah's father and mother had blamed the child to be the sign of catastrophe.
The second child of the royal family was mistreated and blamed for three whole years . The queen had even convinced the king to disown the young girl.
Fortunately, Mother Aray was the one who had found out the truth and presented the evidences against the queen. She had saved a child who was not even hers and provided the child with all her love .
Since then, the queen still had held the grudge and refused to acknowledge her second daughter. Everyone felt that the queen hated the second princess, however, mother Aray felt otherwise.
The queen actually loved her child dearly yet was too ashamed to face her. Her guilt had stopped her from pampering and approaching her daughter.
"Second mother, sister had it hard."
Diana Moonshail, who always acted cool and playful turned into a soft whining child facing her second mother. The first and third princesses both went around to hug their second mother's ,while being careful to not wake the sleeping girl up.
Esmaray Moonshail told them about their search and their deal with the merman prince. At the end , when she spoke how her second sister had bled and had suffered so much pain, she could not help crying out in pain.
Everyone's attention turned to the sleeping girl, the sleeping girl appeared so vulnerable and tired as she slept peacefully despite the loud crying of Esmaray besides her.
Everyone felt the pain for this young child. As though how little this girl was, her courage and kindness far surpassed theirs.
"My daughter."
The king gazed at his sleeping daughter, heartache visible in his eyes. Whenever he looked at this reticent daughter of his, he felt suffocated with emotions raging through his mind.
He felt guilt for blaming his child who was too little to speak for herself. He had not stood up for his daughter when he should have pampered her with all the world's treasures.
Yet, when he looked at the brave , Kind-hearted young girl who had chosen humanity when she clearly had all the reason to hate them, he felt proud as a father. She was truly a king's daughter with a huge heart.
"Your second sister's sleeping, don't cry anymore."
Diana Moonshail consoled her youngest sister gently, lest she woke the sleeping girl up. Esmaray Moonshail had cried for long after sensing the heavy emotions in the room.
As she was too sensitive to emotions, she had picked all the heartache, guilt, love and pain coming from the elder's.
Maybe because of the guilt as a mother , the queen had acknowledged her actions years ago infront of Esmaray, who was still five at that time. Thus, Esmaray Moonshail knew whatever her sister had gone through.
