"To protect me," Marcella finished Tony's statement.
She was not happy that he didn't include the whole truth. It used to be a wound in her heart. She thought she was abandoned by her father. Tony told her the truth.
"To protect you," Tony kissed her head. "As much as he wanted to keep you closer to him, he didn't. He wanted you to be safe far away from him."
Marcella sighed.
There was silence in the room for some time. Marcella didn't speak, but her brain was deliberating nonstop. She wondered if she should ask him again.
"You had an amazing father, Marcella," Tony said breaking the silence.
"True," Marcella agreed. She placed her hand over his chest and gently patted him. She had a feeling he was opening up.
"You're not going to ask why I went to the beach house?" Tony asked.
"I asked you. You weren't ready to talk," she said.
"When?" he asked.
