Chapter 12 - A Meeting with Master Liang

A small time skip of four days take place, Kai persisted firmly in following the same daily routine- balancing school demands while making steady advances through rigorous cultivation training.

Every day brought forward progressive developments in both skills and attributes as a testament to Kai's unwavering commitment to self-improvement.

As the golden shade of dawn filled the sky on the fifth day, Kai concluded his rigorous cultivation session.

He dedicated the entire night to collecting spiritual energy and was met with a familiar notification upon finishing.

Kai couldn't contain his joy when he realized how close he was to acquire 100 units of spiritual energy - something he had spent a lot of time working towards.

However, this achievement presented trouble in front of him: should he be content with reaching the Novice Rank or continue beyond and gather more than 100 units?

Seeking guidance from someone wise such as Master Liang seemed like the best way forward for him.

Despite any lingering doubts occupying his thoughts, Kai maintained his usual routine by going about school life normally including arriving at the combat department where Aoi, Leon, and Ethan awaited him.

Master Liang's daily morning class commenced with the students respectfully greeting him upon his arrival.

Taking a moment to survey the room, Master Liang was surprised by the marked difference in spiritual energy levels observed.

Of notable mention was Kai's ability, which surpassed those of his fellow peers - an esteemed achievement that would generally require a week's worth of effort.

After the morning classes concluded, Master Liang beckoned Kai to the staff room, leaving his friends teasing and speculating about the reason behind the summoning.

Curiosity mixed with concern in their voices as they playfully asked Kai if he had committed any mischievous acts.

With a nervous mind, Kai approached the staff room door.

Just as he reached for the handle, Master Liang's voice rang out, giving him permission to enter.

Kai stepped inside, taking a seat while pondering the reason behind the meeting.

"Kai, my boy, you've shown remarkable progress," Master Liang began, his gaze steady and penetrating.

"Your spiritual energy far exceeds that of your classmates. Tell me, have you resorted to any external means to achieve such an increase? Pills, perhaps?"

Kai's response was swift and honest, "No, sir. I haven't taken any pills or supplements. I've been practicing diligently, dedicating my nights to cultivation and following my routine every day."

Master Liang observed Kai closely, searching for any signs of deception.

Satisfied by the honesty in Kai's eyes and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, he smiled, his voice filled with pride.

"Kai, you possess great potential. You're on the verge of reaching 100 units of spiritual energy. However, I don't have precise measurements, so after school, come to me, and we shall assess your progress together."

Relieved that he hadn't been called to the staff room due to any wrongdoing, Kai responded happily, "Thank you, Master Liang. I will meet you after school."

With some light conversation and reassurances, Kai left the staff room, his mind at ease.

He headed toward the combat department, knowing that it was time for Sensei Mei's class, eager to learn and improve his skills.

As he walked, a thought struck him.

He had forgotten to ask Master Liang for guidance on whether to break through once he reached 100 units in spiritual energy or continue to accumulate more.

He made a mental note to address the question when he met with Master Liang later.
