Chereads / Teen Wolf: Void Stiles / Chapter 15 - 15: The Big Bad Wolf [5]

Chapter 15 - 15: The Big Bad Wolf [5]

The classes today were not ones to my interest, not that I ever found my classes as interesting, with Coach Finstock being the exception, that man has style.

Anyway, I spent most of my day trying to come up with ways the Hunters could track Scott and the other half sleeping, cause of the obvious lack of any last night.

The bell sweeped me up to my feet and soon I found myself in the change room with all my gears padded up, Scott nowhere in sight as he took off to apologise to Allison.

Hope that goes well because I have too much on my mind to even bother console a weeping Scott.

I fit my gloves in as I heard Scott walk into the room, stripping out of his casuals and leaning against the locker looking outward. I slowly get up and calmly get close to him.

"So…? Did you apologise to Allison?" I asked, my lips pressed thinly hoping for the answer.

"Yeah." He replied inattentively.

"Ok…?" I dragged my words waiting for him to finish. "Is she giving you a second chance or..?"

Scott stayed silent with an exasperated sigh before tilting his head towards my direction.

"Nope."

Sigh. Not surprising. Movie night with cookies and beers it is.

"Shit man." I patted his shoulders. "That sucks."

"Nope." Scott shook his head once more.

"Nope? The girl just dumped you and it doesn't suck?" I narrowed his eyes awkwardly. "Scott, please don't come out of the closet because that would be 'the' breaking for me right now."

"What? No!" He yelled, slumping back on the bench with his hand pressed against his head. "Obviously it sucks! But do you know what sucks even more?!"

"...Gays?"

"You remember the Hunters?" He asked, totally ignoring my quip and I nod. "Her dad's one of them."

Ok, hold on, back up here for a moment, my mind is trying to catch up with this.

"Her dad?"

"Shot me-."

"Allison's father-?"

"-With a crossbow."

Great.

"Allison's father…"

"YES! Her father!" Scott snapped before he shook his head, realised something and began to break down, his chest heaving up and down as panic began to kick in. "Oh my god!"

"No, Scott, come on, snap back, you ok?" I gently tapped against his cheek. "Hey, alright, he didn't recognize you, right?"

"No, no, no." He mumbled repeatedly. "I don't think so."

"Does Allison know about him?"

"No, yeah, I don't know, what if she does?"

The coach blew his whistle interrupting our conversation. I had to break Scott's rambling and pushed him against the locker.

"This is gonna kill me, man, I can't-."

"Okay, just focus on Lacrosse, okay?" I threw his gloves and pad towards him. "Here, Scott, take this and this, that's all you gotta go, yeah! Here we go!"

I patted his back thrice and rushed to the field, checking back to see Scott slowly gearing up.

"Fucking great." I mumbled under my breath. "The daughter breaks his heart and the father breaks his bones, what a family."

—------

*WHISTLE–*

"Let's go! One-on-ones from up top."

Coach's orders echo as I stand in line. Greenberg's on another lap, Jackson's got a long stick in defense, Danny guards the goal. Shots fired, and Scott steps onto the field.

"McCall! Fall in!"

Scott nodded hastily and fell into the line, my ears perked up as I heard his grip tighten over his stick, his nervousness clearly seen from his heavy breathing.

The ball reached him but Scott stood there mentally absent as he stared towards the woods.

"Let's go, McCall!" Finstock screamed into our ears. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

Scott sighed and looked ahead, Jackson smirked smugly and twirled his long stick, Scott gritted his teeth and picked up the ball.

He swiftly rushed forward, his eyes now pinned towards the goal and his only aim, to get past Jackson. Scott sidestepped and tried to evade as Jackson rushed towards him but he was a bit too late to take the judgement as Jackson slammed against him. Throwing Scott in the ground.

"Oh!" I winced as Scott fell.

"Ah." He muttered as he slowly knelt back.

"McCall! Hey McCall!" Coach chuckled as he reached towards Scott. He knelt down and closed in. My ears spiked once again as I heard him whisper.

"My grandmother can move faster than that." He chuckled. "And she's dead! You think you can move faster than the lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?"

Does Captain America or Optimus prime have a better skill at pep talk than this man? Nope.

"Yes, Coach." He whispered back.

"I can't hear you." Finstock replied.

"Yes, Coach!" Scott answered back sharply.

"Then do it again." Scott hopped back to the line, his eyes staring into Jackson coldly with a frown.

The whistle blew signalling Scott to start, He growled under his breath and rushed towards Jackson aggressively, his steps pressing against the ground.

"Come on!" Jackson yelled and rushed forward to meet Scott head on.

"Arghh!" Scott cried as he threw himself over Jackson, his shoulders smashed against Jackson's rib and I was sure I heard something crack as I saw Jackson hit the ground.

Everyone winced as they rushed towards Jackson, while Scott fell on the ground, holding his head.

"Scott?" I reached first while Coach was responding to Jackson and everybody surrounded them.

"I can't control it, Stiles. It's happening." He managed to say amidst the heavy panting.

"What? Right here? Now?!" I looked around panicking but thankfully no one was watching Scott, they were busy tending to the captain.

"Come on, get up, let's go." I picked him up in a hurry and moved him away from the group while they carried Jackson out of the field.

I brought him inside the school and made my way towards the changing room as I knew it would be stranded right now.

Scott was slowly losing control, and I could somehow feel it, like an instinct in the back of my mind, screaming to let him go and move back.

"Here we go." I opened the door and dropped Scott.

"Sit down, you okay?" I asked as he fell on his knees. "Scott, you okay?!"

He let out a low growl as I felt the hair on my arms stand up. I stepped back as I heard his growl getting louder.

"Get away from me!" Scott screamed. His eyes had turned neon yellow, his teeth were a lot sharper with his nails, and his beard thing had come out once again.

I stumbled back against the bench as Scott rushed towards me on all fours; I ran away and hid myself behind a locker while Scott jumped in the air, climbing over it.

He let out a growl as he looked at me like I'm some kind of prey. All the humanness of him was lost, and only an animal was left to take over his instincts.

I darted my head towards the door and rushed towards it, while Scott hopped from one locker to another.

Just as I was about to reach for the handle, Scott jumped in front and pushed the door back.

With his claws protruding outward, he slowly stepped towards me. Feeling myself backed into a corner, I gulped as Scott hunched back like he was about to hop onto me.

"Scott, it's me." I mumbled, but he could only respond back with a growl.

He jumped towards me with his teeth aiming for my nape; I instinctively closed my eyes and threw my arms up in a final attempt to escape.

"Scott, I said stop!"

I heard a large crashing noise and sharp bites I expected never came. I slowly opened my eyes to see Scott thrown against the door, his body steaming in smoke while he was mumbling words as he finally came to his senses.

I blinked as I looked down to see what saved me, and my eyes widened in surprise as I saw black flames enveloped over my arms, slowly dying into me.

"Stiles?" I broke out of my reverie as I heard Scott. "What happened?"

I gulped down as I hid my arms behind my back.

"You tried to kill me." I slowly walked towards him. Scott groaned in pain as he held his back. "It's like I told you before, it's the anger, it's your pulse rising, it's a trigger."

"But that's lacrosse," he reasoned. "It's a pretty violent game, if you haven't noticed."

"Well, it's gonna be a lot more violent if you end up killing someone on the field."

"What am I supposed to do?" Scott whined.

"You can't play Saturday; you are gonna have to get out of the game," I ordered.

"But-But I'm first line."

I took a sharp breath and replied.

"Not anymore, bud."
