Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Eat or be Eaten

A green creature, short with big green eyes and tattered clothes, walked towards the noise he heard in the distance, with daggers in both hands.

It wasn't just the noise; he smelled something new and fresh. It had an interesting fragrance that he had never smelled before. He giggled as he got closer to Conor.

He was getting excited at the thought of eating whatever smelled so good before his group.

He stealthily walked towards a black figure; he didn't wait one minute to attack. Unlike Conor, who was naked, he had tattered clothes and a dagger.

I heard an alert in my head; it was the skill I picked. It meant I am in danger, and without a second thought, I tilted my head to the side to avoid a dagger.

I felt blood drip down my cheeks; I touched my cheeks and felt my blood.

The goblin giggled and licked another blade, intending to scare me, but I grinned instead and said, "that wasn't very nice."

"Kakaka, my meal can talk! First time for Tom to see a creature that can talk, I bet you taste good," said the goblin in a high-pitched tone.

Before the goblin could even move, I was right in front of it, with my fist in its face. Its face was filled with shock and fear.

Bang, the goblin bounced and rolled for a few meters; it dropped his dagger along as he rolled. The goblin looked around for his dagger, but it was nowhere to be found.

A shadow was cast over him; he trembled in fear. A massive black beast stood over him. Tom felt primordial fear for the first time; he was scared.

His battle instinct was turned off; he was shocked out of fear when he heard a deep menacing voice.

"Don't be afraid; there is something after death," I said as my hand came down and collided with the goblin's head.

Internal destruction.

A popping sound was created; I punched the goblin a few meters away again. It rolled in the distance; I was sure that wasn't enough to kill him, but a message popped up in my head.

Everything just felt unreal. I moved beyond speed that I could ever achieve, and I punched a goblin to death. I never punched anyone to death with one hit. It had to be the skill Internal destruction.

I didn't look at my status for too long; I was a man on a mission. I took the goblin's tattered clothes and wrapped them around my waist. My dick was out too, and I took its dagger and ran.

I needed to get out of here. I didn't know where I was; I could be in goblin territory. It's my first day being alive, and I killed a goblin, meaning my life will be filled with killing. Even my mission, half of my quests are for killing.

Which I don't mind, but it says a lot.

Not only that, I needed to find water, food, and shelter, and I needed some clothes too. Winter is coming, as the mission said.

As I entered deeper into the forest, I randomly stopped and climbed a tree. Let me tell you, it was hard. I couldn't grip anywhere to get up in the tree; the branches were way up. But I was lucky there was a rock I used to push myself up, and it seems like I got a superhuman body.

"Climbing a tree naked is not the way," I said to myself. I accidentally rubbed my balls against the tree on my way up.

Getting comfortable on a branch, I asked, "System, what is essence?"

Essence was my highest number, so I had to ask to know what it is, but I didn't get a response. It was then I realized, I was truly alone.

And then it hit me: I was truly a primordial. Nobody gave birth to me because I just came into existence.

And I wonder, are there other humans out there? There has to be because the system said, "registering souls."

Time to analyze—"There was a goblin. What does that mean? It means there have to be other creatures out there. And the goblin had clothes and a dagger. Meaning, there is a goblin civilization out there that can harness fire and understand the need for clothes," I said aloud. I always like to talk out loud to myself because it feels like I'm talking to two people.

"Ok, time to act. I need food, water, clothes, and shelter. I don't have to worry about food because it's everywhere in the forest. Now, I need water. I'll just have to walk around until I'm lucky," I said while looking at my surroundings to see if there's any water source.

At the same moment, a breeze blew up the cloth I had covering my waist. A chill ran down my spine.

"That leaves me with clothes and shelter. I need clothes as quickly as possible because winter is coming, and this won't do," I said while covering my balls.

Now, I need a shelter. I'll just have to look around and before I could continue with my thought process. The strongest alert I ever felt came. Giggles filled my surroundings; goblins in tattered clothes looked at me. They didn't have to tell me that they want to eat me.

I subconsciously used Identify.

Goblin, level 7.

Goblin, level 9.

Goblin, level 7.

Goblin, level 9.

Mission established: kill the 9 goblins that threaten your life. Retreat is only an option for the weak, not for a primordial.

I smiled in the face of death. I took my battle stand with my dagger in front of me. There was no retreat, and I had already made up my mind to kill every single one of them.

It's eat or be eaten in this world.

I dash at the first goblin; the goblin jabs at me. An alert rings in my head. I duck and pierce the goblin's head from the bottom of its chin with the dagger I picked up earlier.

I grab the goblin's body and cover my chest and face with it. Three daggers fill its body. With quick feet, I blast myself around the three goblins. I stab two of them in their necks quickly; the third goblin ducks and jumps backward to avoid my dagger.

"Three down, six more to go," I said. Alert, Alert.

I run towards the next tree from my branch and hide behind it. Four daggers are thrown at me, landing in the tree behind which I'm hiding.

As I try to catch my breath, a goblin comes down from above. I block his attack in mid-air; our daggers collide, creating a spark. The goblin jumps back after landing.

As I'm about to finish him off, I feel something in my back. In pain, I drop my dagger.

Health: 90/100

I turn around and see a goblin behind me; its dagger is in my back. It's too short to land the killing blow on my neck. I slap the goblin in its face with my hand, then close the distance on him. Frightened, he tries to jump back but slips.

In mid-action, I catch him with internal destruction; my fist collides with his head. I didn't know what this skill was, but it got the job done. And you won't hear me complaining; more importantly, I love it.

I then grab the goblin's dagger from my back and throw it at the other goblins I was fighting before. The goblin blocks it, but his face is covered.

Another dagger is in his neck; he dies. It's the one I dropped earlier.

Alert, Alert rings in my head again. I put my hands in front of my face. I scream out, and a dagger goes right into it.

Health: 77

I'm drained; I'm almost at my limit. Internal destruction is a draining skill; I can feel it. I kneel down to catch my breath from my injury and skill, but another one comes from above.

"The same old trick," I smile at a pattern. I try to push myself to the side, but I slip on the branch I'm on. However, my eyes are still on the goblin that's in mid-air. I blast a dagger at him, which he blocks but loses his balance.

Trying to regain his balance, he loses sight of me.

As he's about to touch the branch, I hit him with another internal destruction on his chest; his organs rupture, and he spits out blood as he's sent flying.

Three more goblins are left, and they stand in front of me on the same branch.

No words need to be said. It's either them or me, and they aren't going to eat me.

I dash at them again; they throw their daggers at me. I try to dodge, but I slip again. In reflexes, I block one with my dagger, but one goes right into my leg, and the other into my chest.

They jump me from above. I'm hit from left and right. Blood blurs my vision, and the only thing I can recognize from there on are green blurs.

I try to block their attacks, but because of their claw and retreat combo, they're efficient in ripping out my skin.
