Stepping into the main hall, various groups of guests came into view.
And boy, when Elon said that there would be some high-profile guests, he wasn't kidding.
Looking around at the assortment of celebrities, college and pro athletes, and the large number of the best looking girls from campus, Elon definitely went all out.
I looked down at my outfit, starting to feel like kind of a dumbass, when Abbi tugged at my sleeve.
"Don't worry, you look great!" she said with a smile so warm it could speed up global warming.
"Jesus Abbi, I look like I'm about to head out to the field after packing a chaw of chewing tobacco."
She pinched my side, pretty hard I might add, and said. "Don't you dare start that shit, nope, nope, nope!"
I shook my head, nodding along as she smiled again and led us to a group that she was familiar with. I got to finally analyze the crowd a little bit, recognizing some big names in the entertainment industry.
There was the Z Girls, an idol group from Japan, the Riley brothers, making a big name for themselves in the movies, and even Marie Anton. She's a young, up and coming swimsuit model that has a side gig in basically every industry. Basically what Abbi could have been if she took all of those offers.
While Abbi chatted with her friends, I could see Marie approaching us with a curious look in her eyes.
I nudged Abbi discreetly, trying to get her attention, but it was too late.
"Hi there! You must be Ayden am I right?"
A soft, cheery voice sounded from her lips as I turned around getting a good look at her.
Long, flowing emerald hair, hetero-chromic eyes, her left being golden, her right a deep red, slim body with fat in all the right places. Her body screamed seduction but innocence at the same time. I couldn't help but give her a once over.
She noticed my wondering eyes and gave a cute smile, "My name is Marie, it's a pleasure," she says as she sticks out her hand.
I grab her hand for a quick handshake and attempt to release, but she hugs my arm.
"Ummm…"
"You do know this was a formal gathering, right?"
I looked at her with a confused look and I said, "How much alcohol will be consumed tonight?"
She blinked at me, "Huh?"
"How much alcohol do you think everyone here will drink?"
She gave me a confused look, "I don't know what you mean, I just know that most likely everyone here will be at least unable to drive."
I nodded my head, adding, "Yes that's right, everyone should be pretty well plastered towards the end of the night. So why would I wear an uncomfortable and stuffy suit to a party like this?"
Marie looked at the crowd, then she looked at her own clothes. A tight black dress, hugging every curve, with high heeled designer shoes.
"I…. I see your point."
"Mhmm," I hum letting her acknowledge the fact that I had a plan.
But still, I probably should've worn something a little fancier considering the guest list. Although I am not too keen on conversing with many, I can see that Abbi is having a good time and that's all that matters.
"Why is she holding your arm?"
Speak of the devil…
"Abbi, this is Marie. She had a few words to say on the way I was dressed."
Responding to her, I looked at her face only to be greeted with dimmed eyes and a small, scary smile adorning her beautiful face.
"A-Abbi?"
"Huh? Oh sorry I was just admiring your dress! You look absolutely beautiful! I hope my boyfriend hasn't given you too much trouble has he?" she said, the look from before disappearing almost as quickly as it appeared.
Marie looked up from her dress, quickly putting two and two together, a look of understanding washed over her face.
"Ah! I see, you must be Abigail Winters! I knew he was dating you but I didn't recognize you at first!"
'Well isn't that a change of tune?' Marie seemed to have short-term memory loss, quickly smiling and greeting Abbi with the enthusiasm of a high school girl. As she did she moved in for a hug, but her face frozen as Abbi seemingly whispered something in her ear.
Marie gave a strained smile and excused herself, drifting off into the party to find someone else to bug.
"What did you say to her Abbi?" I asked, looking at her with an amused look on my face.
"I don't know what you're talking about. Come, lets head up to the balcony."
Grabbing my hand and half-dragging me along, we ascended the stairs to the indoor balcony, over looking the party which seems to have shifted to a more typical house party.
Speakers were bumping loud music, and the lights had fallen in the room, triggering strobe lights and LEDs to light up, giving it more of a night club feel then the stuffy, upper class gathering that the night had started as. People we dancing, mingling, hell, some people were already making out, showing that the party was in full swing.
Elon seemed to be having a more cordial time, talking with what I recognized vaguely as some other members of the young generation of business leaders. Crabapple, Soni, SingSung; the sons of these huge companies were all but getting down on their knees and kissing his shoes. He seemed to be in his element. Surprisingly, Marie seemed to be there as well, she was draped over Elon's arm. I could see the greed in her eyes from here.
Nolan on the other hand, he was right in his element as well. In the middle of the dancefloor, a bottle of whiskey in his hand, and one of the college girls lucky enough to be invited grinding on his crotch. I could tell from just the way he was swaying that he had already drank enough to make a cop not even bother with the sobriety test.
Scanning the rest of the crowd, I could see that it had turned into a hell of a party…. To bad I had no interest in joining the fun.
At that moment Abbi laid her head on my chest, leaning back into me while closing her eyes and smiling softly.
"What's on your mind dear?" I asked, hugging her body closer to mine while resting my chin on her head.
"So what did you think of Marie?"
I looked down only to find her smile gone and her eyes still closed, after a quick debate I decided to be honest.
"She was certainly beautiful, that much is true. She was also very friendly as well…. but."
"But what?" Abbi asked, opening her eyes and turning her head towards mine.
"She was just another celebrity, beautiful and kind on the outside, an absolute horrid person on the inside."
Abbi furrowed her brow, "That doesn't make sense, how do you know that? You talked to her for only five minutes!"
Chuckling, I replied, "I've done my homework. Marie Anton, daughter of a Europe-based car manufacturer. Her father signed a deal with Elon's dad, getting the rights to build cars for Wolf Inc. in Europe using the new Mini-fusion reactors as the motor. They struck it rich. She had always been pampered as a kid and now with that much money flowing into their accounts, she turned into a sadistic, manipulative bitch on a mission to destroy every man she can get her hands on. There are rumors that a couple of Saudi princes tried to court her, trying to take her hand in marriage….. The story goes that she ended up castrating one of them, claiming self defense. But everyone kind of knows that she probably did it while messing with them. Long story short, she ended up winning the lawsuit that came afterward, forcing the Saudi king to pay a huge sum to her. What did she do with that money? She bought up all of that prince's overseas properties that were rented, offering the sum she got as a settlement to the owners. They sold to her soon after and she crippled the overseas investments of the Saudis."
Abbi just stared at me. After about a minute of silence, she whispers under her breath, "I see, so I need to keep you locked away in a safe place."
"What did you say?"
"What?"
….
….
"Anyways…. She is known for entrapping men, promising them her precious virginity, getting them to act like obedient puppies," I say while sipping on my peach rum and lemon-lime soda. As I swallow I add, "Hopefully Elon isn't as big of a dumbass as I think he is."
The party seems to be going well, looking at my phone I see that time has passed rather quickly. Abbi and I just stand there for a while, keeping close to each other and observing the party, making little comments and jokes about the guests. As I look out I spot Elon walking away from a very pissed off Marie. Obviously, her plans of taming Elon did not work out like she had hoped.
He makes his way up the stairs and walks by us, stopping to ask me, "Hey, would you mind running to the cellar and grabbing another bottle of wine? I think I'm going to need it after dealing with that scheming bitch."
I laugh at him, "When did you figure that out? Looks like she was all over you for quite a while."
All I got in return was a grunt, so I pecked Abbi on the lips and walked to the cellar. After looking around I found a bottle of Elon's wine. He always drinks this weird, French wine that honestly tastes like shit but it's what he likes.
Walking back upstairs, I see a sight that made my blood run cold.
Elon had Abbi pressed against the balcony, trying to kiss her while she struggled against him.
Feeling something snap, I rushed ahead, slamming into him, launching him off the ledge.
He falls into the crowd below, landing on a poor Indian IT wiz who managed to get into the party with his buddy from the football team.
I look down at him from the balcony, hellfire burning in my eyes as I shift my gaze to Abbi, checking her out to see if he hurt her. Luckily, no damage was done.
As I am checking Abbi, all I hear is, "MAN WHAT THE HELL?!!! The fuck is wrong with you dude?!"
Nolan, the shining short bus reject, runs over and checks on the passed out Elon. I look down on him and say, "That fucker is lucky I didn't kill him for what he just did."
Nolan rushed the stairs, running up to try to tackle me but I was a step quicker. Grabbing his arm, kneeing his thigh, and punching his nose, he didn't even have a chance to react.
Blood gushed like a fountain from his nose as he screamed. I spat on him and said, "That's what you get for supporting a rapist."
Fucking trash.... the lot of them.
I grabbed Abbi's arm, pulling her along as I went to our room.
"Pack your bags, we are leaving."
She absent-mindedly nodded, setting off to pack her things as mine was already pretty well packed. Having only taken one outfit out, it didn't take much to get set to leave. When I turned around I saw that Abbi was packed with a dazed look on her face. Grabbing her hand, slinging my bag and hers over my shoulder, I dragged her with me. We descended the side stairs, trying to be as discreet as possible.
Once we were outside, I saw my pickup, it was parked neatly by the garage. Elon does this when we have a party, getting his people to grab our friend group's vehicles and bring them to the party's location midway through the night, so we have them in the morning. Using this to my advantage, I open the passenger door for Abbi as I open the rear passenger door, tossing the bags in the back seat. After helping Abbi climb in, I slam her door shut, walking around the front of the pickup and hoping in the drivers seat.
I turn the key, letting the diesel engine fire up, the turbos spooled up, giving the exhaust sound a jet whistle to it. Dropping the shifter into drive, I step down on the gas. The turbos scream as a cloud of good ole global warming rolls out of the exhaust, black as coal. I drive us out of the driveway and down the adjacent road, leaving behind a crowd of mixed and confused guests.
