Luke sat behind the counter with a frown on his face.
He was feeling extremely vexed and annoyed, how long was his mom planning to keep his wife for. It's been a week and some days and she's still returned.
He knew very well that his mom was the one holding his wife hostage.
"She has a lot of things to do, like manage her company, but my mom is taking her time, this must stop.
She can't probably say it because she respects mom so I have to go and get her, so that she can go on with her life".
Luke tried to convince himself and Lucy with this excuse.
Lucy completely ignored Luke, she didn't have the time to waste on Luke finding excuses for his feelings.
A man with a regular looking appearance wearing casual clothes entered the cafe and found a seat for himself.
Luke casually glanced at him and ignored him since it had nothing to do with him.
The man in casual clothes looked like any regular joe you would find on the streets.
He sat there quietly observing the empty cafe and when he was done he focused his attention to Luke and scrutinized him from head to toe.
This was done boldly and audaciously without any restraints.
When Luke noticed the gaze on him so audaciously, he also returned it with his own and started starring at the deadpan eyes of the customer then narrowed his eyes dangerously which shocked the regular looking joe.
Something about this regular looking middle aged man did not feel right to Luke.
"Lucy run a background check on that guy",
"There's non, there are no records of him anywhere almost like he doesn't exist.
It would be close to impossible to find anything on him which is a bit surprising."
Replied Lucy.
Luke curiousity was piqued.
"Use the eyes of Artemis".
"Already in progress".
This technically meant Lucy was going to watch the regular joe entire life backwards since the moment he entered the cafe but at a rate faster than anyone could possibly imagine.
After thirty seconds Lucy finally replied.
"His name is James a thirty-three year old man and a guard of the secret royal knights of Krustalia, this group are kept so hidden that your chamber of information has nothing on them.
Apparently he was sent by the second Prince of krustalia to kill you because you are interfering in their plans".
Luke was surprised, he didn't remember offending the Royals so why go to such lengths to kill him.
"The Royal family of Krustalia has always eyed Beauty Foundation and are seeking to take it over through an alliance of marriage to boost them,
And with the wealth of Beauty Foundation they can really become a force to reckon with." Lucy added this since Luke was confused about their motive.
Luke didn't really rate Beauty Foundation as a wealthy company, they might be local champions in Gold Country but when considering the whole world he really didn't rate them.
"Don't underestimate Beauty Foundation, they make an annual profit of fifteen billion every year and just last year they made twenty, not to talk about one heart pharmaceutical which she also owns.
Your wife is worth a lot of money."
Luke felt a bit proud before turning his concentration back to James,
all this had taken place between a span of 50 second's.
A smirk appeared on Luke's face as he stared at James provocatively.
James frowned, what was going through this handsome guy mind.
Firstly he replied his probe with a more dangerous Look but suddenly started giving him this provocative looks.
He could have swore that it seemed like that handsome young man was daring him to make a move which made him feel very displeased.
But after musing about it for a while, he came to the conclusion it was impossible for the man Infront of him to know anything about him.
Heck even the other Super Countries had nothing on him and he was right to think so.
He had done his investigations and had found out that the pretty pauper was extremely lazy and only played games in the cafe, he was heavily reliant on his wife and thus knew he had a thug of friends as lazy as him which he hired to work here and waste their lives.
This made him look down on Luke very much, infact he despised him.
This was normal and almost 60 percent of the world's population who knew of Luke and his shenanigans all felt the same towards him.
They had seen videos of how Luke and his employees terrorized and threatened customers in his cafe not even sparing the old ones, he was a despicable personal who charged 10,000 dollars for a mere cup of coffee.
Which human with a heart does that.
James then gave Luke a creepy smile and ordered a cup of coffee.
Luke just looked at him nonchalantly,
"Do I look like am taking orders?" he said.
"But don't you own the cafe?", James asked extremely politely.
"I do but I don't take orders, you have to wait for my workers to come to you".
James nodded and continued to sit there with the look of an innocent person who just wanted his cup of coffee.
Victoria was the only one close to them, she had tried to get some of guys to come but they simply refused and continued their fun, John included.
After seeing the middle aged man sitting there innocently like that, she couldn't bare it anymore and decided to take his order herself though she was new.
At this moment she began to ask the kind of person Luke was because she found his behavior unacceptable.
She was beginning to regret her decision of pledging herself to Luke.
Luke stopped going through his phone when he saw Victoria taking James orders.
He shook his head and sighed.
"She's too kind and soft to join the phantom shadows,
How did she even become such a feared assassin with such a kind heart ?".
"She's an orphan who lost her parents because of decisions taken by some corrupt people.
She was trained to kill such corrupt people and she showed no mercy to them earning her reputation as whisperer of death.
But when it comes to schemes and deceptions, she's has zero clue because it was easy to identify and eliminate low level corrupt officials and business men.
Her coming to negotiate with a stranger like you without fully knowing you well shows you all you need to know about her", Lucy said.
Luke nodded in agreement.
"Hey old man, everything on that menu is above thirty thousand dollars so if you don't have the money, you better scram".
Luke said coldly.
James almost broke character and killed Luke there and then but controlled his anger.
A cup of coffee for 30 thousand dollars and above, was it the coffee of eternal life or what.
He got up nodded at Victoria and gave her a gentle smile, "thank you for caring for this old man but I would have to take my leave since I can't afford anything on the menu".
"Are you leaving or do you need my employees to send you out on clutches?"
Chipped Luke from the corner.
"Young man, you should learn how to respect the elderly and you would live long, disrespect them and you would die a gruesome death".
"You are not even that old, you are barely in the middle thirty's so what's with the exaggeration", Luke fired back.
James just turned around and left with his fist tightly clenched while gritting his teeth, " I will be sure to make you remember and beg for this when the time comes", he mumbled to himself and took a last look at Luke's face which had a smirk and left.
Victoria glanced at Luke with unhidden disgust to which he just shrugged to, she walked into the kitchen without saying a word.
