Her eyes turned deadly immediately she got the wind of what was going on. Madeline walked toward a candle that had been lit in her room and placed the scroll above it. She watched it catching flame and turning to ashes in seconds.
The look in her eyes never changed at all. Reading of the event that happened in the Hayes' mansion was enough to dampen her mood for the day.
Reginald was running after the Princess...? She chuckled in her head.
She couldn't do this. It was not possible. In as much as Adele's plans were perfect, and the best she came up with, she found herself disagreeing to it.
Madeline was going to come up with something that was more perfect than her cousin's. She was not going to agree with Adele's idea. No, she never wanted that.
Hurriedly, she walked out of her chambers. Her slender figure strided in the dim hallways of the Wilsons and she touched a door knob.
Madeline pushed the door and walked in. What welcomed the sight was numerous vials of liquid placed on shelves. Ten meters ahead was a table of a brewing greenish liquid.
The liquid crawled into one of the translucent pipes of the glass. Then it came out as a drop into a wooden jar. A bubbly sound filled the room she walked into.
Her hasty steps had reduced and she found herself staggering toward one of the shelves.
Her eyes caught a particular vial, and she blinked. Malicious intent was seen in her green eyes as she picked the vial and studied it closely.
Madeline walked toward the table, her forest-green eyes watching the brewing liquid with delight.
For many years, the Wilsons had been dealing with herbs and poisons. But they did this in secret for fear of being tagged as treacherous beings to the kingdom. They trafficked these herbs that had been brewed into potions to other kingdoms.
That was how they grew from noble wealth, to a family that was equal to the King's wealth. Their growth in wealth had been cut to meet the standards of the subjects.
They were tremendously wealthy, and that was one reason for Madeline's arrogance. She thought her family deserved the throne.
It was the Wilsons who made up Napoleon's economy as soon as there was a wedding between King Oberon and her Eldest Cousin, Adele.
It was clear that her father, Lord Uriel wanted someone from their family a part of royalty. That way, it would make their access to the throne easier. Especially if Adele birthed a male heir.
And now that their plans were successful, they were going to do anything to quicken the steps of their ascension into immense power. That too, when the king wasn't oblivious to it.
But it seemed Madeline was going to use her family's gifted skills of making herbs for something selfish. She didn't look like she had an intention doing that now, but she was waiting for the right time to do it.
As soon as the greenish liquid had reached the desired amount she wanted, Madeline opened the vial she took and poured out its content.
A purplish, thick liquid fell into the wooden jar. Purplish drizzles were seen climbing to the peak of the jar. It was mixed with the greenish liquid while her eyes shined as though she struck gold.

"You all saw the way the Princess and Reginald were yesterday. There's no doubt we would be expecting an heir soon." The king guffawed in the throne hall, while his subjects remained staring at him.
Obviously wondering if the King saw what he wanted to see instead of the obvious fact that, his daughter's marriage to Reginald was hanging on threads.
Lord Uriel shook his head as though in pity of the result of this. He had tried getting General Hayes on his good side, making sure to help his daughter and his son grow closer.
That way, they would establish a relationship that would shake the entire roots of Napoleon. But this cunning king had taken his chance. Now, the Princess was the one with the General's son.
Lord Uriel obviously knew of the great and mysterious power the Hayes had even though the family looked sort of... ordinary.
The fact they all had good-looking servants was enough to prove it. And for the fact the General himself looked so ordinary... There was something the Hayes were hiding from the public. Something dark and mysterious.
The King had managed to hide his daughter into the mystery. Too bad he was going to end up six feet before saving his daughter from the danger he threw her in. The Lord thought while his green eyes gleamed with hidden intentions.
"How are you sure they are in love, My King? From everybody's view, it is clear the Princess and General Hayes son are having problems?" He raised a brow glancing at every of the Dukes in the room.
His eyes fell on General Hayes who never said a word. The man kept staring at nothingness as though he couldn't be bothered with whatever they were talking about.
No one knew he was in a deep thought.
King Oberon's jaw twitched while he gripped his throne's armrest. He wanted to help himself to rise up and scream at his Consort's uncle. But his waning strength did little in helping him.
How dare this man speak of his daughter's relationship in such a condescending manner? He should know his place and respect his daughter as the Princess!
In a span of three seconds, the subject had changed from Olivia to installing her step-brother, Nathaniel as the King of Napoleon.
Clearly, the King had his two legs in the grave. It would be quick to make Nathaniel the King. The Young Man was currently the Crown Prince of the kingdom. It would be right to make him the King, every Lords reasoned that.
They didn't know what was on the King's mind. The man's gray eyes which Olivia had obviously gotten hers from glowed with something unknown.
He had casted his gaze on General Hayes who stood, unaware that the King was watching him.
