Chereads / Living Doll of MHA / Chapter 46 - Lost Faith

Chapter 46 - Lost Faith

The police and those behind everything had decided to lay low for some time.

They even went as far as to cut off contact until everything had blown over.

Nothing was worth them doing anything further since everything had turned out quite unfavourable for them.

They had to wait for another opportunity that could create more chaos for them to take advantage of.

All that could be done was for them to make a risky move and risk exposing themselves or to remain in the shadows.

They chose to remain in the shadows which was the more cautious path that would allow them to come up with a more effective countermeasure later.

What they did not know was how a certain individual had overheard the conversation that was supposed to be between two people without there being any witnesses.

Tiffany had left some of her smaller toys behind that were positioned in different areas.

They all had the appearance of old and discarded toys that had been thrown out by others.

There was little reason for others to pay attention to them since they just looked like everyday discarded trash.

Tiffany may not have been able to hear everything perfectly but she was able to understand the situation well enough from what she did overhear.

She could not hear a lot of what was said by the person on the other end of the call but a lot of what the police officer had said was heard by her.

When she had overheard everything and noticed that the police in the area were moving out of the area, her attention went back toward her main body.

Her body lay on a comfortable seat in an empty room with large bolted doors and metal walls, flooring and ceiling.

Her green eyes were the first to open and show any movement before the rest of her body was back under her control.

Her limbs began to move a little as she stretched her body a little and leaned forward.

Several pens and notepads were on the table in front of her with many notes written down.

Each time that she noticed something or overheard anything that she thought was noteworthy, Tiffany returned to her body to write it down.

There were some small sketches in some of the notes as she attempted to record some of the visual data too whether it was the appearance of someone or an items she had seen someone using.

As she was writing down some notes, Tiffany was mumbling to herself. "To think that some of the police had been involved in something like this. So much for maintaining order..."

Tiffany had seen the lives of many people through the eyes of her toys.

Those included those who were from all kinds of professions and that included those from the police too.

Many of those police officers came home after a long day at work while letting their families know how they were maintaining peace and keeping everyone safe with the aid of the heroes.

The way that some of them boasted about their work and took pride in it made Tiffany see a side of it that almost let her believe it to be true.

The main issue was how she never truly got to witness it for herself.

She never saw how they performed their duties.

It was easy for them to come home and lie to their families about them being upright and good while they were doing shady things in the background.

Their families would never come to know about such a thing unless they were being investigated or were caught doing such things.

If they confided in their families about the bad they had done then they would be making them accessories to the crimes they were involved in.

If they let them know then they risked their family being charged for the crimes too and if they still did it then there was always a risk of the family reporting it out of guilt or to save themselves from being held responsible by the law.

It was the first time that Tiffany had witnessed such a side to those who were supposed to be known as being good and incorruptible.

It was quite disappointing for her to witness but she soon got over it.

If she had such a large amount of faith in the police then perhaps she would have chosen to reach out to them first for help when she needed it.

The various problems related to the carnival would have made it possible for her to escape one day or for it to be closed down completely but then she did not know where she would go next or what she would do.

She was still quite immature and it was better for her to remain with how she was living despite the various circumstances she had to live under.

Her name was still registered with them and they still had legal rights over her.

The only reason why she had stayed away from them in the current situation was due to her not wanting to return after what had been done to her.

If it was any normal situation then it would be considered as murder or at least attempted murder since she had miraculously survived.

After writing down some things she had witnessed, Tiffany looked over toward the thick bolted door and waited patiently. "They should be back sometime soon... I should not have to wait for that much longer."
