The second time I met the Ashborn race, there was a bit of a language barrier problem. I knew they saved my life, and I wanted to thank them for it when next I saw them.
And when I did, my words were not able to get to them since we spoke in different languages.
However, as time went on and I showed more and more interest in learning their language, Adaptability kicked in and gave me insight into how to go about learning it through listening alone.
After that, all it took me was about three or so days to completely incorporate their language and also be able to speak it.
Once I had gotten the hang of their language, the rest was easy.
Coincidentally or as the Ashborn elders would call it, Fate.
By fate, the Ashborn are kind of intertwined with an Oduduwa in the past. I don't know which of the Oduduwa exactly but that appears to be the case.
Once I told them who I was and my heritage, I was wholeheartedly accepted as one of them.
