On that fateful day, a cataclysmic event known as the "Genesis of Races" sent shockwaves through humanity.

The very fabric of our world seemed to warp and bend under the influence of an unknown force.

Without warning, the landscapes and bodies of water underwent a bewildering transformation.

Like dough stretched to its limits, the Earth expanded, its diameter multiplying sevenfold.

Astonishingly, new lands materialized seemingly out of thin air—mountains, forests, and bodies of water sprouting forth in an instant.

The immense energy unleashed caused an earthquake of unprecedented magnitude, surpassing any seismic scale previously known.

This catastrophe, now forever etched in history as the "Humanity's Lament," tragically claimed the lives of nearly 5 billion people, leaving a mere three billion to bear witness to the aftermath.

In a cozy room, a man of average appearance with raven-black hair, deep sapphire eyes, and a medium build reclined on a single bed.

A spacious grey couch, capable of comfortably accommodating a gathering of five, intersected the room, along with a compact study desk adorned in hues of yellow-brown.

With a sense of finality, the man closed the book in his hands. Its title read "Chronicles of the Unveiling," penned by the esteemed scholar and researcher, known as Lucius Everhardt.

Lucius was entrusted with a unique connection to the Constellation [Guardian of Forgotten Lore].

Blessed with an extraordinary ability known as "Time's Insight," bestowed upon him by the Constellation, Lucius possessed the uncanny gift of effortlessly retaining every piece of information presented to him by the System.

This encompassed significant global announcements that held great importance for humanity.

Curiously, the System's messages concerning the world or the entirety of humankind could not be accessed again after a certain period. This is where Lucius' gift came into play.

While many who did not personally know Lucius believed it to be mere speculation, his "Time's Insight" allowed him to discreetly journey through the annals of the past, experiencing vivid recollections as if transported to another realm.

Such was the power granted to him by the divine authority of his chosen Constellation.

The man, with his deep black hair and piercing blue eyes, gently placed the book penned by Lucius Everhardt on the study desk beside him. Pausing for a moment, he softly uttered...

"Sigh…"

A sigh escaped from Derek's mouth as he read his Status Window because he was reminded of how trash he was based on his stats.

Derek rose from his bed, letting out a wide yawn as he stretched his arms, taking in his surroundings.

The room he stood in was a humble space, seamlessly combining both living and sleeping areas.

A modest kitchenette and bathroom completed the ensemble. Peering into the mini refrigerator, he noted the absence of food supplies.

The room was sparsely furnished, save for a 16-inch rectangular television, its sleek black frame standing as a symbol of modernity.

Above it, a wall clock marked the passage of time, forming a partnership of practicality.

"If I weren't accustomed to this, I might find a reason to complain," Derek mused to himself.

After a refreshing stretch, he retrieved clothes and a towel from a small cabinet adjacent to the television.

With purposeful steps, he made his way into the bathroom, preparing for a bath. Thoughts swirled through his mind as he contemplated his circumstances.

"At least I possess knowledge that others may not," Derek murmured absently, his thoughts drifting back to his lacklustre stats.

With a pensive expression, he immersed himself in contemplation, hoping to unravel the mysteries that lay ahead.

...

After swiftly completing his grocery run for ready-to-eat meals, Derek hurriedly shut the apartment door behind him, returning to the comfort of his seat.

Two computer monitors illuminated the room, their vibrant displays seemingly ceaseless.

"Yes! That's a solid $100,000, baby!" Derek exclaimed, his heterochromatic eyes sparkling with delight.

The bedroom of his modest apartment filled with his triumphant voice, compelling him to rise from his seated position.

Having successfully profited from shorting the stocks of S.S. Pharmaceutical company, Derek relished in the realization of his financial gain.

While the sum may not be considered significant by the standards of the ultra-wealthy, for a diligent investor like him, it represented a considerable amount that would sustain him for several months.

Ding! Ding!

A constant stream of notifications from one of the monitors abruptly interrupted Derek's celebration, prompting him to reclaim his seat and investigate further.

Click! Click!

The chat windows revealed an excited message from a user named "JustYourReader": [Yo! When will your novel be released? I'm itching to read it!]

Another user named "YouWannaSlap?!" responded impatiently: [Why can't you just wait?]

With a sense of anticipation, Derek clicked on the message, curious to uncover the contents and connect with his readers.

The heterochromatic man, driven by a fervent passion for storytelling, aspired to become a novelist.

The messages he received were from a vibrant online forum, where writers and readers converged to share and consume captivating tales.

While his main focus revolved around stocks and investments, the man had recently felt an irresistible urge to embark on a new creative endeavour.

Writing a novel became a pastime, a way to fill the gaps between awaiting stock results.

Over the course of three years, he managed to weave together his very first novel, a captivating piece titled [The Lost Swordsman of Starfall].

However, just as he prepared to venture forth to the publishing company he had engaged in promising discussions with, tragedy struck.

In a cruel twist of fate, he met his demise at the age of 33, having heroically saved an elderly woman from an oncoming supercar while crossing the pedestrian lane.

Derek Raven was snapped out of his thoughts, sending his senses into reality as he looked in the mirror.

Seeing his reflection where he saw his wet, deep black hair as he just finished taking a bath, deep blue eyes that seemed like they contained the deepness of an ocean and the highness of the cloudless skies.

Yes, he was reincarnated as an unknown character inside his novel that he didn't manage to publish.

That also means that he has the knowledge of the future, and easter egg-like scenarios that he can utilize that might hardly affect the main story.

These easter egg-like scenarios were scenes in the novel he have written that did not have an elaborate explanation for it, but catches the main function or purpose of it;

also some items, skills, unique skills and traits that can be acquired, and great authority that was forgotten in the novel… that he can utilize.

"Sweet…"

Derek muttered, combing his wet, deep black hair.
