Sylvia's heart lurched in her throat as she stared at Favian with wide eyes. Her heart drummed faster in fear.
Favian's face didn't give away his thoughts. He walked further into the room and stopped at a hand's distance from Sylvia.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, glancing at the open window.
Sylvia's head snapped in the same direction in fear that Favian had noticed Corbin. But to her utter surprise, she didn't find Corbin anywhere.
She finally released a sigh of relief. Corbin was safe!
"Sylvia?"
Startled, she faced Favian and answered, "N-nothing. I just... needed some fresh air."
As soon as those words left her mouth, her eyes clenched shut as pain shot through her head. Favian grabbed her long straight raven hair in a tight fist, tugging at them hard.
"I don't want anyone to see you, not like this!"
She understood what he meant by that. He was not possessive. But he didn't want anyone to notice the wounds on her body. He cared only for his image and not for her.
