On that fateful night, she still remembered that she had gone out for her usual walk at around 1:30 am.
She normally chose to leave her hiding place and roamed the streets at this ungodly hour since the streets won't be polluted with many humans.
She was on the deserted bridge, gazing at the glimmering lights across the bridge when a black van halted some distance away from where she stood.
Not long after the van pulled over close to the bridge rails, two men carrying a golf bag stepped out of the car.
When she saw them toss the bag they carried with so much difficulty into the river, she thought they had disposed of some forbidden items.
It wasn't until they left after they failed to notice her presence that she moved to where they had previously parked their car.
At the exact spot they tossed the bag into the river she found traces of human blood.
When they were there she had thought the blood she perceived was from one of them but she realised she was wrong when her sensitive ears picked up breathing sounds from the water.
The smell of blood which got stronger as seconds passed, coupled with the breathing made her realise that there was something wrong with the bag the men had cast into the river.
Without too much thinking, she jumped into the river. Although the water was violent and would be considered freezing for an ordinary, she didn't have to worry about drowning or freezing to death. At that time she had already learned about her strengths as a vampire.
After diving for a few minutes she found the black bag sinking to the bottom of the river.
And thank the heavens for her super strength she was able to pull the heavy bag to shore.
And that was how she found the half-dead Roman when she unzipped the golf bag.
Her dark and boring life became so colourful and interesting after these two men came into it.
"I bet you both don't have an idea how happy I am that you are always there to support and listen to my rants," Giavanna mumbled. She lifted her hands and stroked Zeus' eyebrows.
Some hours later Giavanna climbed out of bed. She tiptoed out of the room so she doesn't disturb the men who were fast asleep.
With everyone in the mansion still fast asleep, except the security guards outside, Giavanna had no reason to tiptoe like she did when she located the men's bed.
Giavanna unlocked Xander's door and slid into the room unnoticed by anyone.
When morning reached Eve who had moved to stand at her door waited to hear someone open the door opposite hers but that didn't happen despite being there for an hour.
"Aren't the maids paid to keep the entire house clean so why is it that none of them had come to clean their Master's room even though this is 8:00 am?" Eve grumbled.
She tried to control her hands which were itching to pull the door open and do that which was on her mind.
She completely forgot that she was the same person that ordered the maids and other workers not to come close to the first floor in the morning except when called for.
Eve got tired of waiting when 9:00 am reached and none came out of Xander's room.
Because of her anxiety, Eve knocked on the door and barged into the room without waiting to be ushered in by the owner of the room.
"Xand!" Eve called when she saw no one in Xander's sitting room.
Assuming he would be at his walk-in closet since he wasn't at the sitting room she approached the direction of his walk-in closet which was just beside his bedroom door.
"If he isn't here too, then where could he possibly be?" Eve asked no one in particular as she stared at the room filled with branded clothes, shoes, wristwatches, neckties and so many other men's accessories.
Since there was no reason for her to remain in the empty room, Eve stomped out.
Eve reached out her hand to close the walk-in closet door but only for a voice coming out of Xander's bedroom to disrupt her.
"What on Earth happened here?" She heard Xander's loud voice roar even though the door was locked.
Curious to know why Xander would scream like that, Eve let go of the door's handle and moved to stand in front of Xander's bedroom door.
Eve bit her lower lips, reached out her hand and grabbed the silver knob.
Slowly she pushed the door open and walked in.
"W-w-what..." Eve covered her mouth with her trembling hands and staggered backwards at the scene she witnessed.
"Eve!" Xander exclaimed, his widened eyeballs almost falling out of their sockets.
Instantly he held the dishevelled red bedsheets and covered his and Giavanna's nude body.
"Eve, it isn't what you..." Giavanna who just changed position sat up and kissed Xander on the lips.
She fell back on the bed and pulled the clothes over her body.
"Darling, I know you hate eating breakfast without me but you will have to do that today," Giavanna said drowsily. The way she acted was as if she didn't know that Eve was in the room.
"After the steamy session last night, I am afraid that my weak body would break down if I forced myself to get out of bed. Be a little understanding hmm," Giavanna murmured and went quiet once again.
