"Nothing," Giavanna muttered and moved to the couch with her head hanging low.
Just like Giavanna had suspected, Stacy had difficulties finding her a coat. She only returned to the sitting room after fifteen minutes.
Despite that Giavanna had dressed up like she wanted, Aurora wasn't really keen on the idea of them going out. She was too scared of what would happen to Giavanna not knowing that her worries were baseless.
At first, when they reached the boutique Aurora had picked for their shopping, Aurora had assumed that Giavanna was pretending to be alright to ease her mind. But she soon realised how wrong she was after she noticed that none of what Giavanna did was an act.
"Rora, what do you think about that red bag over there?" Giavanna asked. She pushed the clothes in her hands aside and moved to the extreme part of the room where designer handbags of different brands were neatly arranged on their respective shelves.
"It's beautiful!" Aurora blurted and approached where Giavanna stood in front of the portable red handbag.
Giavanna chuckled when she turned in time and saw the glints in Aurora's beautiful amethyst eyeballs.
"Yeah, not only are they gorgeous but I can already imagine how amazing it would look on you especially if you match it with a white, black or green outfit like the one you are wearing," Giavanna praised in a playful tone.
"I know that but can you stop tempting me with those compliments hmm," Aurora mumbled.
She turned her back to the red handbag although she did this with great difficulty.
"Seth hasn't stopped nagging me for the whooping sum of money I spent on the trip. I am afraid he will not only give me an earful but might slam divorce papers on my face if I dared to buy this two thousand dollars handbag," Aurora muttered.
"And why on Earth would he do that huh?" Giavanna growled and moved to stand in front of Aurora.
"Also, I told you that today's shopping was on me, so why are you worried about what your husband would say? I mean it's not even his money you are gonna buy the handbag with right?" Giavanna beamed at the worried lady.
Of course, she knew Aurora's taste as much as that of her husband. She spent precious time learning about her husband's likes and dislikes including those of the ones close to him.
She had aimed to be a perfect wife. She dedicated her time, energy and resources to achieve this.
Thinking back now, she can't help but laugh at her naive old self.
"We have already bought quite a lot.." Aurora trailed off as she gestured at where three sales representatives stood each with at least six shopping bags in their possession.
"Are you sure you still wanna foot the bill?" Aurora asked in almost a whisper.
"Rora, have I ever deceived you or gone back on my words before?" Giavanna asked seriously.
"Never!" Aurora asserted.
"Then trust me on this. Don't forget I am filthy rich. Also, our shopping isn't gonna end here so look forward to it ok," Giavanna grinned. She turned to where the sales representative with long black hair stood.
"Wrap that up for us also," Giavanna instructed.
"Thank you, Gia," Aurora extols. She raised her hand and tried to hug Giavanna but the lady who had seen this coming moved away just in time.
"If I were you, I will save that for later," Giavanna beamed and walked back to the clothes section.
"And what do you mean by that?" Aurora asked and hurried to catch up to her.
"What..."
"Rora, don't you think that blue dress over there will look particularly stunning on both of us?" Giavanna quizzed with her index finger pointed at a glimmering blue dress designed with diamonds all over.
"You would have definitely looked spectacular in it but you don't wear short clothes, remember?" Aurora reminded her. She momentarily shifted her eyes away from the outfit that had also caught her eye.
"That was all in the past. The lady standing right here has been enlightened, so you don't have to worry about that," Giavanna replied. For some reason she found herself smiling a lot while with Aurora. And the most surprising thing was that these smiles were genuine.
"Give us two of that dress over there in the same colour and size," Giavanna said to the sales representative who has been following them about.
"Wait," Aurora blurted.
"Why? You don't like the dress?" Giavanna questioned.
She thought Aurora stopped the lady because the dress wasn't to her liking. What she didn't know was that she guessed it all wrong.
"Of course, I am in love with it," Aurora exclaimed.
"I only wanted to tell her to get mine in a bigger size," Aurora went ahead and explained when she realised that Giavanna misunderstood her.
"You have gained weight?" Giavanna implored. She took a closer look at Aurora.
"Hmm..." Aurora shook her head affirmatively. She avoided raising her head as she talked.
"Wait, aren't you the same person who vehemently told me that gaining weight is the last thing you will ever do? Tell me, how on Earth did your resolve get shattered," Giavanna teased.
She couldn't stop herself from smiling when she saw how shy the usually bold Aurora was.
Giavanna and Aurora continued to shop for a long time. And just like Giavanna promised, their shopping didn't end there but they moved from one boutique to the other.
Meanwhile, Giavanna had a great time with her companion that wasn't the same as Xander.
His day turned sour from the moment he woke up and it went on like that for the best part of the day.
Eve refused to talk to him. If not for the fact that she worked as his assistant, he was certain he wouldn't have been able to see her the entire day.
