Giavanna who was standing less than twenty steps away from where the fight took place leaned her back against the white wall.
"Tsk... I am so glad I didn't make the mistake of letting him go scot-free for ruining my life... Believe me, that bastard deserves a thousand more of what is coming his way," She mumbled and glared at the figure who was oblivious to her presence.
"I wanted her dead more than you did, trust me," He pleaded, his passionate eyes locked in hers.
"Our engagement was supposed to take place in less than a week and now she has returned.. w-what will happen to me... no... no..., I mean what will become of us huh?" She questioned, her eyes reddening in rage.
"How do you expect me to trust you again after all that had happened huh?" She pushed his hands away and turned her back on him.
Xander hurried and embraced her before she could stomp away. "Believe me, I will make things right again. I love you, Eve," He confessed.
He tried to plant a kiss on her lips but the furious Eve tilted her head sideways and avoided his lips.
"Eve...," Xander whispered, his forehead resting on her cheek.
"I know this is not your fault but Xander I can't bring myself to forgive you for this," Eve asserted. She pushed him away and attempted to run off but Xander hugged her from behind.
His desperation to make her see reasoning didn't allow him to let down his guard for a minute.
Giavanna spun and was about to walk away when she heard familiar voices coming towards their direction.
Quickly, she tilted her head to where Xander and Eve were still hugging unaware of what was coming their way.
'Damn it! It's not yet time for everyone to know about their illicit relationship. And why on Earth did the intruders have to be those two gossips?'
Giavanna's eyes darted to where the footstep came from. As she stood there for a moment she was lost at what to do to avert the situation.
Not only will her entire plans get ruined but she might not be able to take her revenge if someone was to catch the two lovers in the act.
"Although I haven't had close contact with her before, people always praised Giavanna for being an angel. It was said that she was too good to be true so why was she such a bitch earlier," Giavanna overheard the two ladies bad-mouth her even though they were still far away.
"Not only was she a bitch, didn't you see the manner she stared at us as if we were mere flies. It looked as if she wanted to stab us to death just because we were kind enough to acknowledge her presence," the second lady roared.
She couldn't help but smile at the lady's outburst.
Giavanna shifted her focus back to where her husband stood with his mistress in his arms.
'Yes, I want nothing more than to make you go through the same hell I went through in this one year but I can't let you get caught... No, I won't let you get away with this easily and that is why...'
An evil smirk crept onto her pretty face as she pushed her long hair behind and adjusted the way she stood.
"I will come to your rescue!" She declared and approached where the two lovers stood.
As she walked, she deliberately made sure that her high heels sounded alert to the two that someone was coming in their direction.
Xander who heard the sound of her heels first immediately pushed Eve away from his embrace and arranged his suit and hair properly.
Even from where she stood she saw her husband's eyeballs waver when he realised that she was the intruder.
"Eve...," He touched the lady who hadn't composed herself despite knowing they had a third party.
"It's Giavanna so act as if nothing happened," Giavanna saw him nudge the lady who wouldn't even spare her a glance.
But she pretended she saw and heard nothing
Anyways, what was the fun there if she lets them know that she overheard their entire conversation when she can further rub salt on their injuries?
She smirked and proceeded to where they stood in front of a red car parked behind them.
Even though she knew she was the last person in the universe Eve wanted to set her eyes on, she still walked and stood beside her.
"Hey, Eve, what happened?" Giavanna asked concern written all over her face.
"Did someone perhaps bully you, tell me and this Big Sis here will definitely avenge you...," Eve avoided her stretched forth hand by moving backwards with her head remaining lowered.
"Why? Did I do something to upset you...,"
"Of course not," Xander butt into their conversation when he realized that Eve might not be able to keep up with the act if he didn't put an end to this conversation soon.
"How do you expect me to believe that when she hasn't said a word to me ever since we reunited?" Giavanna implored, her gaze fixed on Eve's face.
"Are you mad at me because I returned...,"
"Why would you make such an assumption Gia? Of course, she is happy that you came back. I bet she is exhausted from having to run around due to tonight's event...,"
"Why are you the one replying instead of her?" Giavanna demanded, her gaze not moving away from the face of the lady who had refused to raise her head and stared at her.
"Is there something going on between the two of...,"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Xander growled.
