Chapter 19 - Home At Last

"What could....,"

"Sorry, but I will take my leave now," Eve, who was scared that she would ruin all her years of effort and hard work if she remained a second there, announced.

She turned and walked away.

"Darling...,"

"I still have a few things to take care of. I will meet you back at home," Xander said hurriedly and hastened to catch up with Eve.

Giavanna stood at the same spot and watched her husband lead the reluctant Eve to his car while he heartlessly abandoned her without a care.

"Tonight you both can talk, have sex and do whatever you want... after tonight, none of you will be able to do all these without my permission," Giavanna announced.

She swerved and ambled away giving no attention to what her husband and Eve did inside the car.

Immediately she left, the driver's window of a black Mercedes Benz parked not far away from where the commotion took place earlier was wound down by the occupants of the car.

"From the moment I saw her I already knew that she was up to no good... thank goodness that foolish brother of mine wasn't around. I am sure he would have gone crazy as always after setting his eyes on her," a guy in a green suit whose right hand was on the steering wheel mumbled.

He ignited the car and took the same direction Giavanna went.

Giavanna was about to move to the other part of the parking space when a red sports car screeched to a stop beside her.

Without hesitation, she held the front door, pulled it open and hopped into the car.

"Where to, Beautiful Young Miss?" The driver who happened to be someone she was very familiar with asked.

"Anywhere will be fine as long as my enemies are not present there?" she replied while imitating the same tone the driver used.

"Put on your seatbelt because..."

"Hey, Zeus quit using that tone or else you are gonna upset Bae more than she already is, instead of brightening up her mood like you wanted?" Roman, who was occupying the backseat alone cut in sharply.

"Why?" Giavanna interfered before Zeus had the opportunity to counter Roman's point.

"I kinda liked his imitation," Giavanna added.

"But..."

"Also, whoever told you that I was sad or whatnot?" Giavanna cut in, her head held high like someone who just won a medal.

"Babe, we saw what happened earlier. You don't have to put on a fake facade when it's just us..."

"Hey dudes, I am super thrilled right now. In fact, I haven't felt this happy in a long time," Giavanna demonstrated with her hands spread in the available space.

"If only you had seen their shocked faces when I stepped foot into the hall then you wouldn't doubt the fact that my happiness is real," Giavanna tried to convince them even though she didn't need to.

She was so eager to make them believe that she was happy and didn't realise how weird she looked at the moment.

"Of course, we believe you," Zeus replied. He secretly signalled the guy in the backseat to play along.

"So did you put that thieving bitch in her rightful place?" Roman proved to be an expert at this by taking over from Zeus who had to concentrate on driving.

"Who do you think I am?" Giavanna boasted, her head cocked to the sides.

"You should have seen the bitter look on her face when the organizer placed the plague in my hands," Giavanna relayed her feat with excitement.

"Not only did she look extraordinarily ugly but her face resembled that of a person who was forced to eat a fresh bitter gourd hahaha...," Giavanna burst out laughing halfway through her narration.

As they drove out of the parking lounge, Giavanna was too busy with her narration to care about the black car which has been tailing them for a while.

The next day, a lady was seen entering an enormous sitting room which was tastefully furnished with some of the best pieces of furniture and decor in the world.

The manner the employees dared not obstruct her path but instead bowed and greeted her was enough evidence the intruder wasn't a stranger there.

"Young Miss, Mr Xand...,"

"There is no need to announce my presence, Stacy," She cut in before the lady with brown shoulder-length hair could complete her statement.

"Also, tell the other employees not to bother about me. I will take a look around first," She instructed and strolled fully into the house she hasn't set foot into for the past year.

As she walked about the spacious sitting room, Giavanna needed not to stare too long to notice how different the entire setting was from a year ago.

Apart from the couches which were replaced with new ones of a different colour, all the decors were new ones.

She noticed that they went as far as changing the chandeliers.

Even the pictures of her family which a table was particularly dedicated to it was gone.

Giavanna could hardly recognise the house she has spent almost a decade of her life in due to the tremendous changes it underwent.

"What poor taste!" She growled and strolled towards where the picture of her husband hung.

A year ago she recalled how much she loved staring at this picture, especially those sets of sparkling brown orbs of his.

No matter how tired and fed up she was with life and everything, she always felt better any time she set her eyes on this particular photo frame.

She even went as far as believing that this picture possessed some magical powers.

How foolish of her!

Fast forward to a year later, she hated the sight of not just this photo frame but also the person on it.

"Since you didn't hesitate to get rid of my things and that of my mother, why don't I help you get rid of this one?" Giavanna mumbled.

An evil grin crept onto her pretty face as she raised her hands and removed the photo frame from where it hung.
