Rebecca had led Nathan to a guest bedroom in the mansion.
"Drop her there" Rebecca said pointing towards the bed and Nathan did as told and dropped the girl on the bed.
Her checkered shirt and blue denim trousers were seriously stained with blood and it seemed to spread further as it stained the bedsheets too. Her blonde hair covered the parts of her face and some strands were dyed red by blood.
Nathan had gone out and called one of the maids before having a shower and returning back to the guest bedroom.
He watched as his mother checked the girls injuries before he was surprised at what he saw. And it wasn't only him, but the maid too.
Rebecca had grabbed the girl's shirt by the neckline and ripped it off the girl's body. She had done the same with the girl's trousers. Then she placed her hands in the pockets of the girl's trousers and brought out what she was looking for; the girl's wallet. She read the girl's name and age out loud "Sloane Michelle. Age nineteen", she smiled before dropping the wallet on the nightstand.
"Pass the towel and the basin" Rebecca said and the maid did as told. Rebecca used the towel to clean Sloane's whole body before giving the towel and basin back to the maid. The maid bowed and was about to leave when Rebecca gave her Sloane's torn clothes.
"Burn those, will you" she ordered and the maid bowed before leaving the room.
Nathan simply stared at his mother in awe before staring at Sloane. His sharp eyes were able to capture all her features; her plump pink lips, delicate skin, perfect figure and height. Soon, he began to stare into space as he remembered how he met her in the forest and how he had stared at her green eyes that were quite surprised to see him.
"Aren't you done staring at her body?" Rebecca asked teasingly but Nathan only stared at her with a frown on his face
"What does that entail, mother?" He asked and she kept quiet before Nathan asked her "Why did you look for her name?"
"You're quite rude to me, your mother" she said with a chuckle as she wrapped Sloane's injuries with bandages after treating them "How else am I supposed to tell her nicely that her friends are dead?"
"I guess so" Nathan mumbled as he watched his mother cover Sloane with a blanket.
"Shall we?" Rebecca asked
"What?" Nathan asked
"I want you to take me to where you found her" Rebecca said "But just so it wouldn't look too suspicious, you'll take me in the car...okay?" Nathan nodded his head at her request and they both left the room. Shortly after, they left the estate in a ford pickup truck.

The ford pickup, was crushing down the road next to the forest where Sloane and the others had been attacked. When, suddenly, Nathan had hit the brakes hard due to the red and blue lights he could see. Although he didn't go out much, he already knew that those were the lights of law enforcement.
Nathan took a long stare at his mother who nodded her head and they both opened the door and got off the car. They quietly got off their car and walked towards the red and blue lights. And when they reached there, they could see it; some men and women held each other tightly as tears streamed down their eyes while others had come with their whole family and began to cry as they watched six dead bodies being carried out of the forest.
'So these are the parents of those humans' Nathan thought as he sniffed the air 'I can't pick up Sloane's parents. Not even the slightest scent' he thought before he stared at what or more like who, his mother was looking at.
Over in a different corner, was a woman and a young girl. The girl didn't seem to be up to fourteen years as she cried together with her mother as they stared at the two bodies in front of them. One of the officers had gotten close to the woman and that was when the woman got up and grabbed the person by the collar.
"Where is she?" The woman shouted "Where's Sloane?"
"We couldn't find her body. We're sorry" the officer replied
"So, none of the children I dedicated my life to raising... To loving....to knowing.....came back from this stupid trip alive" the woman cried as she fell to her knees
"Sloane... Is she a girl with blonde hair?" She heard a voice ask her and she looked to the side and saw Nathan.
"She is" the woman answered
"Then I can assure you that she's fine" Nathan said "At least she is now. Now that she's been treated"
"Can you give your statement on what happened here?" The officer asked and Nathan nodded
"It seems to me that they came out on a camping trip in a minivan. But everything ended when wolves attacked. My house isn't that far from here so, when I heard screaming, I left my house with my riffle and that truck over there" Nathan said pointing towards the truck "Unfortunately, I was unable to make it in time....and was only able to shoot down the wolves that attacked the girl known as Sloane. Her condition came first; seeing as she was seriously bleeding.....and my mother here, had to treat her. She's currently at our house recovering fine" he ended. The story he gave, was completely believable; it matched everything that the officer had seen in the forest and the fact that Sloane was still alive, only made things better.
"Thank you for your statement" the officer said before looking at the woman on the ground "Mrs Connor.... I think what you need now is rest. You've just lost two relatives....it's a good thing you didn't lose them all" the officer said before getting into his squad car and leaving.
Nathan and Rebecca were just about leaving when Mrs Connor had stopped them and gave Nathan an envelope
"Can you give this to her?" Mrs Connor asked and Nathan nodded "After you give her, tell her not to return to the house again. I'll be leaving town some days from now" she said before walking off empty with her daughter.

Back at the mansion, Sloane had slowly begun to wake up. She groaned due to the amount of pain she was in. And when she finally sat up, she realised she was only in her underwear. She stared at the standing mirror opposite her before getting off the bed and staring at her body completely.
It all began to come back to her as to what had happened in the forest and she continually shed tears each time she remembered how each of them died. She blamed herself for not being able to do anything for them and she had covered her face in shame; she didn't want to look at herself in the mirror any more and had shifted her head to the side. Her eyes widened in surprise as she stared at the envelope on the table.
She opened it and read through all of it's contents before her body met the floor and she cried even more as she tightly squeezed the paper in her hand.
Dear Sloane,
I wrote this letter to you to inform you of my family's plan to leave town. We feel quite endangered here and due to us knowing you don't plan on leaving here anytime soon, I have decided to hand over everything you'll need to keep living your life here.
Although, I hold no personal grudge against you, I still wish my family had never met you.
Strange things started happening to all those around you. And of course, my family is getting involved in it. Every time we're around you I feel insecure and it feels as though someone is watching you.
All of us have tried these passed five years in taking care of you. I would have wanted you to leave a long time ago and fend for yourself peacefully. But now, I would like to beg you: DON'T EVER COME NEAR MY FAMILY OR ME EVER AGAIN.
Mrs Connor.
It was a short and simple letter; one which Sloane had gotten the message clearly. She was described as danger itself, and was told to stay away.
Her tears didn't want to stop and she tried to reduce her voice so nobody would hear her and know just how much her heart ached.
"Why are you on the floor crying?" Someone asked from behind and she had turned her head and met a pair of electric blue eyes. "I asked you a question.....Why are you on the floor crying?" The person asked again.
