"Wha– why– ho–" Aylin stuttered, her mind reeling from the shocking turn of events. She couldn't believe what she had just witnessed. Kian had acted so nonchalantly as if it were the most natural thing in the world to burn a person alive. No, scratch that! He could have warned her!
The witch was gone, and so was the fire. It disappeared just as it appeared like it had done its job.
Aylin turned to Kian, his expression back to being blank. "She was a dangerous creature, and she wouldn't have hesitated to harm us if given the chance."
Kian's tone was matter-of-fact, but it didn't alleviate the shock Aylin felt.
She couldn't comprehend how Kian could be so fast and... so powerful. It was extremely disturbing. Aylin had known that Kian was skilled and had powers, but witnessing such a display left her feeling uneasy. She didn't know if she should be afraid of him or not.
