"Would you like to dance?" he asks me after the waitress brought the bottle and glasses to us. I stared back at him. I didn't want to but he seemed so adamant that we play this part of the happy couple and I didn't even know why.
"Not really, but I will," I reply, as he pulls me towards the dance floor. I let him lead me to the center of the dance floor, allowing him to lead I began swaying to the music as it pumped through the speakers.
As the music turned to slower vibes, I let him pull me close swaying back and forth following his lead. He smiles at me, and I didn't know what to do so I glanced around the room. Noticed quickly that a group of men was approaching us. "Hey, Jasper, who's the pretty lady?" I heard one snarl.
"That is none of your business," he says, and then walks me back over to the table shoving me on the bench first before sliding in himself. "Don't pay attention to any of them, my love!" he says quietly.
"My love? What the hell is going on here?" I hear a woman's voice and turn to see this stunning girl who looked as if she could be a model frowning at Jasper. I wondered who she was, maybe there was history I had no idea about.
"Yes, Elizabeth, I want you to meet my wife," he smirks at her. "She and I got married last night."
"What? You got married to somebody else after making love to me, and promising me that you would never break my heart!" she snaps out loud, stomping her foot down on the ground hard which earned us a few gnarly looks from others attending the party. I stare at her standing there making a fool of herself, and watch as grown-ass men swoop in asking her what happened. "He-he got married to someone else..."
The group of men all turn to look at him, he grips my hand hard as if he was trying to stop me from running. "Hey, I'm sorry. She was just there..." he mumbles out, he seemed so scared all of the sudden and that made me wonder who these men were?
The guys all turn to stare at me, "What's your name?" I heard one ask me.
"Her name doesn't matter guys, I am a married man now. I'm sorry." he snaps at them with a smile. I glance around and realize that all the men standing around us looked as if they all wanted to kill me right then and there.
"Oh but I think it does." I heard a deep authoritative tone and turn to look at who had spoken. Catching sight of this gorgeous man, I fought hard to keep my mouth from falling open. This man was so handsome, and he toward over us as he stopped in his track crossing his arms across his chest glaring down at Jasper with a menacing look.
"Bellamy, this... this is nothing!" I heard Jasper say with a chuckle.
"This is not nothing Jasper, we had a deal. Now I think I am going to just have to kill your wife because no one goes back on their word with me. So divorce her right now, the wedding between you and my sister is going to happen no matter what."
"Well, I'm not going to just let you kill her. After all, this is the girl you wanted me to kill in the first place. Which is why I went and married her, to protect her from you." I hear Jasper growl back at this man, squeezing my hand.
"What are you talking about?" he snaps back with a sneer at Jasper and I couldn't help but look up at the man who stares back at me. Caught in the glare of his eyes, I feel as Jasper begins to scoot out of the booth pulling me along with him.
"She's the one I found with the USB Flash Drive that you didn't want me to find Ass hole, did you want her dead for some reason?" Jasper growls back pulling me along behind him as he makes his way out of the club. "Listen Gracelyn, I don't know what his play is but we need to go now." He motions for the driver to bring the limo around while keeping an iron-tight grip on my wrist. I could hear many footsteps surrounding us, I notice him start to glance around and knew that he was trying to figure things out. "I wish he would just accept that I choose someone else."
"Stop Jasper, this isn't over!" I heard the man's raised voice and put myself on guard. What was he going to do?
"Run Gracelyn, I will find you... get out of here!" I heard Jasper yell letting go of my wrist and I stare back at him with wide eyes. Was he telling me to run here, or was this a trick? "Gracelyn, go... I mean it, go!"
Once he said those words I turn and take off running away from him, away from everyone that seemed to be involved in this whole thing. I ran as fast as I could hearing shouts from several guys coming from behind me. But I didn't look back, I knew I needed to keep running. Stepping into a crowded restaurant I attempted to blend in, sitting at a table with a man I didn't know pleading with him to play along. To my surprise he did.
"What's going on my dear? You look flushed?" he spoke to me through a caring smile.
"These guys, they are after me. Please can you just pretend to know me?" I ask him and he nods his head slightly, glancing at the door.
"I'm guessing they might have found you, but don't look. Your back is to the door, just keep your eyes on me!" he kept that smile on his face as he carefully watched them, they were making their way around the restaurant. "You need to get up right now, and make your way to the restroom."
I nodded at him, standing up I turn towards the back of the restaurant where the restrooms are located. I rush inside feeling a rush of adrenaline, did they see me? I quietly wondered as I glanced at myself in the mirror. I almost didn't recognize myself, suddenly the door slammed open and a see several men approaching me...
"You can't escape us!" one screams out, as he inched closer to me.
"No..." I scream out, as another one tugs on my wrist pulling me against him. He roughly opens my mouth and begins to shove a couple of pills inside and then forces my mouth closed forcing me to swallow the pills. I yank my hand away from his grip and push the other two guys out of my way as I take off again running for my life. What the hell did those guys give me?
Trying to hide from them, I make a dash inside a parking garage and run for it. Hearing them get closer I began to panic, as I see a man stepping up to a car I decided to try one more thing. "You've got to save me..." I began to plead with him, grasping his arm firmly. I was feeling foggy like I had a fever, and sick to my stomach as I knew that I was in danger here.
Slowly the man turned around. "Get Lost!" he spat coldly while brushing my hand from his arm.
"Please..." I whispered again, I could hear the swift sound of footsteps echoing in the silence of the garage. Looking at me more closely, I hear the man let out a gasp before gripping my hand tightly in his pulling me against his chest.
"Tell me something here, why are they after you?" he asks, I glance back as I tried to focus my thoughts on answering the question.
Staring blankly at the man, I thought he looked so familiar. "I was at a party, and those... those men began chasing me. I don't know why they want me, but they grabbed me and shoved some pills into my mouth forcing me to swallow them, but I got away from them and ran... then I found you!" I explained, my lip curling in a frown.
His eyes were focused on me for a moment, then he pushed me against his car hard. He growled in my ear, "You don't recognize me, do you? Stupid girl, you ran right to the one person you were trying to get away from!" I widened my eyes at him and began to panic when he began to reach down for the door handle of the car and pushes me inside the backseat of his car just as the group of guys approached him.
"Hey boss, I'm sorry but we lost her somehow!" One of the guys says as they stopped right in front of him. The car I was in had extremely tinted windows, which made me wonder if they could even see me in the vehicle or not.
"It's okay boys, I've got her here in the car!" he casually replies back to him. My breath caught when the one guy pulls out a set of handcuffs, and the man who I thought I could trust just opens up the car door allowing him to gain access to me. I inch back, trying the other door, and finding it locked I hold my breath.
"It's no use, my dear these doors can not be opened from the inside of the car." I hear the deep rumble of his voice as he lets out a chuckle at me. My heart dropped, as I widen my eyes at this guy's approach.
"Stop, please... just let me go!" I raise my voice at them, attempting to kick at the man trying to grab my ankle. I let out a scream as he grips my ankle pulling me towards him, he flips me over roughly on the seat and I feel as the cold metal is slapped around my wrist.
"Shut up, right now girl. It won't help your case here," he growled out, before climbing behind the wheel and taking off down the road like a bat out of hell. The car sped down the road, causing me to fall back on the seat as a result. "I am taking you to my home, to make sure that I don't lose you."
I sat there in silence, as he drove the car onto a winding driveway and I see a mansion come into view I felt my body begin to tremble. I found it strange that this man was behaving like this, and behaved in the same way at the club with Jasper. I watch as he enters a big garage and parks the vehicle in between two others that looked expensive. He climbs out of the vehicle and opens up the back door and stood there like he was waiting for something. "Get out!" he says coldly, and I carefully scoot in the seat and stand up right in front of this man. Glancing up at this man, I noticed how extremely handsome he was. His thick eyelashes, tall nose, thin lips, and strong jawline made him look unapproachable yet so alluring. "As long as you behave, I will treat you like a cherished guest. But if you act up I will not hesitate to punish you for it," he growls before turning around and tugging on the cuffs to lead the way into his big beautiful home.
After exiting the garage, he led me down a sidewalk around to the front door. Following him, I kept my mouth shut. The moment he opened the huge black double doors, I couldn't help but let out a gasp at the incredible interior. It was enormous, about three times bigger than my apartment and I quickly noticed an intimidating elderly couple facing me at the foot of the stairs. All of a sudden, my head began to spin and everything became blurry around me; what was happening to me? I felt my body relax, and my eyelids began to feel heavy as they started to close. Unable to stop them, my mind drifted off into the darkness as I gave up on it.
