"Calm down, son. He did not mean any harm with the questions, it's simply his job to make sure that she is old enough." his mother says soothingly.
He looks at me, "Let's just get this over with... I have other things to do." he says coldly, glancing back at the judge. While I wondered what was so important that he needed to get back to, I kept my thoughts to myself. Watching the judge as he pulls out a folder from his desk drawer.
"I had these drawn up after our conversation Seth, it is the marriage license and certificate for Bellamy and Gracelyn," he spoke keeping a thin smile on his face while handing over the folder to Bellamy to go over. I watch him carefully as he reads the documents, and then see as Seth pulls out some papers of his own.
"I'm sorry Bell, but I want her to sign this prenup I had the lawyers draw up. I know that this isn't forever, a divorce is imminent once she's safe..." he spoke sternly as he handed the papers over to Bellamy. He skims over the papers in his hands before turning to me.
"Gracelyn, this is a standard prenuptial agreement, it simply states that should we get divorced you will not be entitled to any of my wealth and or status. I need you to sign it before signing the marriage license and certificate," he assures me. In my hands, I read the document and agree that it did appear to be a standard prenuptial agreement. As I place a pen on the paper, I sign my name because let's face it. I didn't really have a choice here, with them all standing around me.
As soon as my name was signed on all of the papers, the judge then tells us both to stand side by side in front of his desk. "Now to get you two hitched, Do you Bellamy Black take Miss Gracelyn Lauder to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, for richer or poorer and in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?" he asks him the question first.
"I do." he says coldly.
Then the judge turns to me, "Do you Gracelyn Lauder take Mr. Bellamy Black to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, for richer or poorer and in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?" he asks, and the silence in the room was deafening. His mother nudged me, trying to get me to say something.
I glance up into his face seeing him glaring down at me I finally mutter the words, "I... I do." I knew I would have eventually had to say it, but I really didn't want to make him mad enough to hurt me so I said those two little words that I didn't want to say.
The judge smiles at us and says, "I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you can kiss your beautiful bride." Seeing him turn and look at me gave me butterflies as I wondered if he would really do it or not. He leans down and places a soft kiss on my forehead and steps back.
"Awe, perfect... let's celebrate!" I hear his mom sing out clapping her hands, but as we step out of the building I quickly notice that not only is the Limo waiting there but so is another car with its engine running. Bellamy walks straight to the car.
"I'm sorry mom, but I need to take care of something first, I am sorry. I will be there as soon as I can, take care of Gracelyn for me," he says and I watched as he climbed behind the wheel and takes off down the road. While I couldn't help but wonder what he needed to take care of after he just got married. I followed his parents into the limo and remained quiet the entire ride back to their home. It was never going to be my home, they all had made it very clear to me in that prenup. Therefore, I swore to myself that I wouldn't get comfortable here.
I step out of the limo and feel as if someone pulls on my arm, I glance over and see it was his mother, "Go and get changed my dear, we will meet you in the dining room for supper in a bit." she says as she hurries off leaving me standing there. I take a moment to stare up at the huge building standing in front of me, realizing how big this place is. It would be very easy for me to get lost inside.
After entering the building, I head for the stairs knowing that the room is on the second floor. As I walk along the halls, I glance into each room until I find it and step inside. I head to the closet and grab a pair of leggings and a t-shirt and change into them. Although he had left, I wasn't sure when he would return, stepping into the bathroom I head to the sink to wash off my face. Stepping back into the room, I lay down on the bed feeling overwhelmed by exhaustion, and close my eyes. All I wanted to do at this point was going to sleep, despite knowing who he was and being in his room I had to admit that I felt safer here than back at Jasper's. I knew that Bellamy wouldn't hurt me, and my thoughts drifted off to him as I let myself drift into the darkness. I hoped his mom would forgive me for not going down to eat.
Sometime in the night...
I hear the sound of the door opening and open my eyes in time to see Bellamy standing in the doorway covered in blood. His shirt was stained with blood, and I noticed blood dripping from his nose and from the corner of his mouth and glanced down at his body and also noticed some fresh bruises and a few cuts as well. As he glanced my way, his face changed and he glared at me as if warning me to keep quiet. As I sat up in bed, I watched as he took several long strides and slammed the door behind him as he entered the bathroom. The man was furious, and I wondered why he would be so angry so late at night, as I glanced at the clock I noticed it was 3:30 in the morning.
I didn't think I could just lie back down and go to sleep, so I quietly got up and paced around the room. I figured from the amount of blood and bruises that he must be in a lot of pain, even though he didn't show it. I heard the noise of the shower running and when I heard the water shut off my heart began to beat so fast as I knew he was done. In no time, he opened the bathroom door. He was wearing nothing but a towel, and my cheeks flushed with embarrassment as I quickly turned around. I heard his heavy footsteps walking around the room.
"What are you doing?" he asks all of a sudden.
Being afraid to look at him I mumble, "I'm sorry but I saw all that blood and was worried."
"I am fine, now get back in bed!" he said as he walked over to the enormous bed to lie down himself. I turned to see him, and quickly notice that he was dressed in a white tank and black cotton pants. Pulling back the blanket, he climbs underneath and holds it up waiting for me to climb in next to him. With a little sigh, I walk slowly over to the bed and climb in. Turning my back to him, I wasn't sure if I could trust him to remain a gentleman. The moment he turned out the light I felt tense.
For the next hour, I just listened to his breathing and remained wide awake. Half of me expected him to make a move, this being our wedding night and all. But all he did was sleep, I let out a sigh of relief thinking that he probably wasn't the type of man to force something like that. I silently turn and glance at his face, and find that he looked at peace. Quite different than the man he was when he was wide awake barking out orders in his cold voice.
