Closing the doors, sightly making sure not to wake the sleeping beauty. He turned in the direction of his room, only to find Rui leaning on the wall playing with a stick in his hands.
Both their eyes locked their gaze, as Rui's eyes held questions that only Vincent had the answers to.
Taking a gap from the wall, Rui dropped the stick on the floor and tucked his hands into his pockets. And asked,
"She's awake right? " knowing fully aware that she was.
"She fainted again. Go check on her." Already turning back to open the door, with his hand on the doorknob, he turned his head and there was irritation in his expression, because Rui still remained unmoved.
"Are you trying to annoy me, because it's working. "
Rooted to the ground, Rui said, "She's fine, Vince. It's only a fever." His tone was uncaring, not bothered by the fact of her fainting. "She's a human and weak one at that. "
"Let's hope so for your own good." walking past Rui, his room, which was just next door. Stepping in to have Rui follow him, closing the door behind.
"Who is she Vince? "
Going to the bed, he sat down with his head thrown up and his eyes shut.
His action made Rui more curious about the girl. For the past three days, he had been questioning Vincent about the girl he brought home, but he wasn't giving him a valid answer. He did not peg Vincent to be some who will just pick anyone from the streets, so why the change of heart?
With both hands supporting his posture, Vincent shut his head, facing Rui. With a more serious look, he asked,
"Has there ever been a case of a demon teleporting?"
Rui frowned at his question. "Teleportation? Don't tell me that's what happened. That's impossible. " assure of what he said.
That's what he thought. It was impossible. Most of his powers had been erased, so he couldn't find an explanation for what had happened that night. One minute he was on his balcony and the next he found himself in the middle of nowhere.
"Have heard whispers about it, but there's never been a proof of it. Maybe something might have triggered it. Did you, by any means, come in contact with our kind?" Rui took a seat on the table opposite Vincent.
Titling his head, Vincent answered with amusement, "I did, your potential hunter, soul feeder. "
"You saw it. Did you send it back?" Rui had searched his butt out, looking for that thing all over the gala. He even missed the award giving ceremony.
"Why would I do that? He was your problem, not mine." Vincent's quick responses made Rui sight internal. He hoped the thing was not still out there.
"I'm sure that might have been the cause of your teleportation. Coming in contact with it must have brought out your remaining powers left." Rui said for Vincent to hum.
"Ture, I should have probably captured it and kept it to myself, and used it to my own benefit. " Rui had no other words for Vincent.
He wanted his powers back so badly, everybody was greedy, but he had even more greed than them. With the slight power that came to his fingertips, he wanted more. It had been so long that he had transported himself, and the feeling was like a muskmelon dipped in honey.
"But at least, I first must have the will to teleport before I will be moved, but it happened so suddenly." that can't be right, something was out of place, either his human body was now messed up or someone was playing behind the scenes.
After Vincent and Rui kept their discussion behind the cold walls of the room, leaving Arya to sleep in silence, her mind was carried back to the time in the forest.
She didn't know why but she cried in the room which was dark with only the dim light coming from the window, "please no! " but the man next to her heeded not a single word from her as he was used to her cries and pleads..
Her scream echoed in the cold walls of the room and she woke up from sleep with a small gasp.
"....!"
Waking up the room that was even brighter, as it was another morning that came. She could remember the last time she dreamt so vividly and she touched her thighs to still feel a slight pain. It was as if she was placed back in the dream before being brought back to reality.
Her body trickled down with sweat, her forehead covered in it, and she used the sleeves of her dress to wipe it off. The sound of the birds tweeting filled the room and her ears, only the cold wind breezing, which was not as cold as the morning before. It seemed like she was already feeling better, but why couldn't she? She had been sleeping for the past few days, free from worry and stress.
Arya's mood deampen when she realized it wasn't so. The memories from the last morning flooded in, making her head heavy back in worry.
Someone entered the room, and it made Arya tensed up. The maid carefully placed the fresh clothes on the chair and walked over to the bed to check on Arya if she was now awake.
Arya, who was yet to open her eyes, heard the maid say, "Poor thing, she's still asleep. I wonder if she's master Vincent's new mistress. " She shook her head in a pitiful way.
Arya's eyes immediately flew open at the words of the maid, new what? Mistress? She did not even know the man's name, and she was now a mistress.
When the maid caught sight of Arya's action were the girl was awake in the bed, her hands shut to her mouth, immediately regretting what she said, and hope Arya did not hear it. She hurriedly bowed her head and went to fold the clothes she had brought inside. Opening the closet, she kept them. After which she found her way to the doors, daring now to look back, but her heart picked up the pace when she heard Arya's voice echoing in the room.
"Excuse me," Arya tried to gain the maid's attention.
The maid who stood frozen at the door, slowly turned her head and in the next second fell on her knees..
