"Surprised, let's just say I still have some few abilities left, I must be quite popular down there, even a soul feeder knows my realm being. " Vincent said, pushing him up, enough to have him off the ground.
"You made name, mammons won't be happy." Referring to his appearance.
"I know right, what cheap people they are, good thing they made me leave, else I would have taken all of them down little by little, crumbling their thrones. "
The bony hand twisted itself, wanting to pry into Vincent's heart, crumbling his shirt.
Vincent freed his hand from the cloak, grabbing the bone from penetrating into him. And pinned the hand on the wall.
"You lowly creatures never seem to amaze me, the vessel I have has more power than you think, trying to corrupt it will lead to your dismay." looking at the creature, before turning sideways to see the girl crawling to the far end, nesting there.
"What's your deal with her? " shifting his attention to the soul feeder.
Resting his head on the wall, he said, "Her time is up, I came to collect her remaining essence." he replied in a toneless voice.
"Give her some time. Vincent said deadpanned. Poor thing, he thought in his mind.
This got the creature to turn to the girl, "I'm not the giver of time, I hold no power against the laws of life and death."
"I did not ask you about your damn abilities, leave her to die a natural death, you can take her soul during the crossover. "
"Fine, she has less than a week to live, but in one condition, let me go and we all pretend none of this happened." striking a deal.
"Deal. "
Shrugging his shoulder, to have Vincent let go. He then disappeared, leaving black feathers in the air.
Making a move to the girl, she was dying. The least he could do was to help her die peaceful, being blind was already enough torture, now they also sent the creature to inflict death on her. Those people were fucked up beings.
Quietness lingering in the hall, spreading the cold into Aray's body. Her ears concentrated on the footsteps that soon reached out to her.
"You can't help it, as you are like a magnet that keeps attracting trouble." His strong voice spilling out onto the walls that absorbed it.
Her throat gulped down, swallowing the dreaded worries. "Are you going to kill me? "
Vincent's curious eyes scanned the girl, noticing her every detail, for the intake of breath to the number of times her kissable lips moved.
"I prefer not to soil my hands in the what my kinds have already concluded." Vincent remarked, taking his place among the cold walls, seating down on the floors.
Arya replied in her soft voice that caught Vincent's attention, "Please don't kill. " withdrawing her legs to herself.
A slight smile appeared on Vincent's lips, his eyes holding humor, but it did not change much upon the seriousness of his words. He replied.
"You are already dying slowly, so there isn't much to kill, also it will cause a ruckus."
What a strange man, giving her a simple yes or no will do, instead he was twisting his words, which made her not sure of what he meant. Was it a yes or a no?
"So you won't hurt me. " She confirmed his intention, her head facing the direction of the voice.
"That's what have been saying sweet, try to keep up." and thought what he said, Arya did not miss the name he adorned on her.
Fishing out something from his back pocket, he brought out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter with a golden head.
Nodding her head to face the other direction, she asked another question out of impulse, "You said I was dying. What did you mean? "
Putting the tip of the cigarette in between his perfect set of white teeth, opening the lighter, he put the spike of fire on it.
Taking a drag of the cigarette, releasing the prudent smell in the air, before having it trapped in his fingers, "We all are going to die one day, no let me rephrase that, you all. So there's no difference in the timing of the person's death."
"You smoke? " subconsciously covering her nose.
Vincent looked at the young woman, as her hair was hindering him from seeing her side profile. "Do you have a problem with it?" bit irritated by the question.
She instantly shook her head in response to the questions.
Taking more lures for the cigar, he added, "The decision of not killing is still pending."
"What?" Arya felt her stomach slightly dropped, occasionally feel the daunting eyes directly at her.
Breaking part from the tensed atmosphere, because of the silence that soon accompanied them.
"What were you doing alone in the corridors, crawling on the floor, like a lost puppy? Are you practicing on how to be like one of them? " He asked.
Seizing the opportunity to lax her bones, she replied, "I lost my way."
"Where's you friend, the one who violated that woman? "
He did not also neglect that she was not with a stick.
Strolling out of the gala, after the ceremony began, he took out on the empty corridors, leaning on one of the pillars.
From far sight he saw her on the floor, shouting for help, keen on the decision to mind his own business. He ignored her totally even when she crawled past him.
But when he saw that thing darting behind her, he took the liberty of playing follow the leader, watching them. And for some minutes they were in the hallway doing nothing, but when the creature finally made a move on her, then he came out of the shadows.
Meanwhile, while in the restroom, Marin finally came back to find the place Arya free. She panicked as her brows drew together in worry of the possibility of where she was.
'where is she, shit Erin is going to eat my head off if I don't find her, she thought.
One sharp turn after another, lost with no idea of where to look for her, she could be anywhere by now, and what kind of company must she be in?
She saw a man look over the tall pillars, to be specify spying. Carefully tip toeing to where he was to see what intrude him when he could have been in the gala.
Looming over, she saw Arya seated on the floor, talking to someone, as her back profile was blocking her part to see the person properly.
Feeling the presence of another, the man withdrew himself back to see the lady deep in her thoughts that she did not notice when he bent back to stare at her.
Startled by a male's voice, she broke her gaze shifting it at the man.
She quickly apologized for barging into his personal space.
Vincent paused in mid sentence, and saw the lady coming over to them with a passive expression, taking long strides to reach them.
"Arya, having been looking all over for you and you are here gisting with someone."
Finally, seeing the male God in her eyes, she was dumb beyond struck.
"You left me in the restroom, alone. I had to find my way. " Arya said.
Lifting her up, she held onto her arm. And she said to the young man that did not lift a muscle to help them.
"Thank you for keeping her company." Bending her head forward a little in appreciation.
Good, five seconds. Neither did Vincent spare her a single look, nor did he even reply to her. He was immense in the cigarette, not caring if it was a human who spoke.
A bit embarrassed, she barely took some steps back when she heard the deep voice.
"Take care of yourself, sweet. " Look at Arya, who was clutching on the other girl's arm.
"You too." After some thought she added, "Take it easy on the cigarettes, it's bad for your health."
"Puffing the smoke in the air, he replied, "Trust me when I say this is all I need."
