Chapter 15 - Feeder's Of Souls

Turning around to look at the man's shadow, the shade of a faint familiar, peculiar scent, covered under the semblance of his colon but not enough to go noticed behind Rui's nose.

Stopping the waiter, he took a glass half filled with red wine from the tray; he gulped down everything in one go before dropping the glass. His hands ventured to another glass, taking it along with him, taking notes on the eyes that rolled because of the way he drank.

Going to the fountain, he placed the drink in front of Vincent, gesturing to him to have it, while his attention was on the path the man took.

"We have company. " His facial contour was prominent, with his cut clean hair making a match to his dark pupils, slowly turning his head in Vincent's direction.

Taking the counter's gesture, Vincent took his own sweet time to survey the eve mortiy wine, humming with satisfaction, before choosing to reply him.

"What kind of company, can it be any worse than this?" his deep voice was unconcerned, his perfect almond eyes mirrored on the glass.

The glory of his fitted tuxedo fell on his broad muscular chest peeping from the inner white shirt, followed by the red cloth tucked into his pocket. His hair combed backwards, leaving the rest dropping on the left side of his face. His handsomeness was not just on the surface but a reflection of his body shape, with the haughty natural perfection he carried around himself.

Rui, on the other hand, was no less than him. His unimaginable beauty spoke for itself.

"Not your favorite kind, soul feeders." His words were fluent with no stop, watching as Vincent's temple dropped, melting into a puddle of water.

The hideous creature was the lowest of the lowest, found in the pith of the bottom food chain, just as their name implies in their personality. An easy guess was that they fed on souls. Their work is to trap a soul who is already due for death, half of the person's soul was already on the other side, while the other part in the living world, corrupting the other half either by inflicting illness or a fastest route to death.

But sometimes they fall on the path of being greedy, taking innocent souls when it was not yet their time. Majority of them are responsible for premature deaths, sending people to the cross realm.

Twilight the glass in a light motion, his lips moved to reply, "Just leave the creation to enjoy the night while he still can, am sure the cross guards are already on his tail, it will take a day or two before he gets caught, unless… " his voice leaving the curiosity of the unknown. "He finds a permanent vessel to occupy before he runs out of time. "

There, that was the down side, the ultimate ability to inhabit bodies. With just a flick on the forehead they gain access to any vessel of choice, including that of a hellbounder, the category Rui falls in.

Because of the ability they have to shift shape in forms, they have an unstable body, feasible making them in greater advantage to the soul feeder's.

Rui's eyes hardened, possibly his hands balled into fist, this could not have been a coincidence, in any time space around the world, this was the place the creature chose to come, fending for food, taking the grain to come in contact with him, now that could not have been incidental.

"Thinking of me to be his next possible vessel was a bad choice, meaning he hasn't heard of you nor me." and he unbuttoned the ends of his sleeves, revealing a very dark, old ugly marking on his wrist, which tainted his smooth fair skin color.

One could easily mistake it for an arted tattoo, but the depth of the carving brought out the years of pains and regrets bound to his flesh.

"I can easily summon the gate keepers once I find him. " charading the mark on his hand, and to Vincent's amusement, it brought out a chuckle from him.

"My my I forgot you still have the dog lash on you, so it's only right that you do their puppet work for them." his tone usage held mockery, spiteful eyes on the same mark that he freely gave away to be able live his life on his own accord.

"To you it's a lash on my freedom, but am still one of them, wondering when you stop caring. " Rui said, noticing how Vincent rolled his eyes.

"I don't know." his expression taking the form of someone trying to remember something. "Right, I think it was the day they could not keep themselves in check, yet tried to manipulate others with their stupid rules. "

"You can hate them all you want right now but remember you were formed by them and will also be a part of them, I will be back in a sec, and if you see the creature, do me a favor by sending him back."

Rui took the falsable direction the creature went, and was on the hunt to find it.

Finding the perfect timing to approach Vincent, a woman in black grown with a diamond purse walked up to the man who had no partner.

A butterfly is always drawn to the most attractive flower in the meadow, ignoring the rest for the best, that was what Vincent was, a flower that can't help but entice both the butterflies and bugs.

"Vincent, I did not deem you to be someone who attended a social gathering. " giving a very enchanting smile.

"Ana, look at you all dolled up, absolutely stunning." faking the compliment, Vincent urged her to stand with him knowing she was on heels.

"You don't look bad yourself, I mean, for someone who recently lost his girlfriend your mood seems to be better than mine. "

"Why won't I, she's dead and gone. There's no need to invest one's time and emotions on a dead person." came his answer.

The smile on her lips could not help but widened, glancing at him under those eyelashes of her's. "Still, a fake sympathy won't hurt anyone, making people believe you loved her."

"There's no need for all the drama, and it's gonna hurt my pride because she doesn't even deserve fake sympathy." his every word with one guilty in killing her.

"If you ever feel lonely, my bed is always ready to accommodate you anything. "

See, this was the kind of woman he likes, always honest about their sexally desire towards him, not the ones who act coy making him believe that they are untouched. And he will freely give in to their demands, as both parties are on the same page.

"Your offer will always have a place six inches under the belly button." His words were slow yet had an undying and alluring meaning behind it.

"Why don't we get ourselves seated and away from prying eyes. " She said, her knees turning weak with the amount of time she stood.

Vincent conceivably agreed not because she asked but because he needed somewhere comfortable, so watch the show that would start any minutes from now.

Both went to the corner with less people, and diverted from anyone, so that they could have some quality time together, but they made a stop, turning to the direction where the noise came from.

It was the moment when a loud shattering sound echoed in the hall along with the tears rolling down on someone's face.
