Chapter 6 - Learning New Skill

Kardo walked back to the inn, made his way to the front desk, and requested a room for the night, paying with the coins he had found on the gang member. The innkeeper handed him a key and pointed him towards the stairs.

As Kardo made his way up to his room, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched. He looked around but saw no one suspicious. Shrugging it off, he reached his room and entered.

The room was simple but comfortable, with a bed, a small table, and a window overlooking the street. Kardo sat down on the bed and took out the piece of paper he had found on the gang member. It was a map of the city with various locations marked on it.

Kardo studied the map for a while, trying to figure out what it could mean. He also took a closer look at the ring he had found on the gang member's hand. It was made of dark metal and had strange markings on it.

Kardo sat on the edge of the bed in his rented room, studying the strange ring he had taken from the gang member's hand. It had an intricate design that seemed to shimmer and shift in the light.

Just then, the system interface appeared before him, and Kardo remembered that it could help him identify the ring's properties. He summoned it and selected the "Item" tab.

As the translucent interface appeared, Kardo saw the various items he had collected listed, including the ring. He selected it and was presented with a detailed description of the ring's properties.

According to the system, the ring was an inter-spatial ring capable of holding an additional dimension within it. This allowed the user to store items within the ring, making it an incredibly useful tool for those who needed to carry a lot of equipment or supplies.

Kardo sat on the edge of the bed in his rented room, studying the interspatial ring he had acquired from the gang member. He couldn't help but wonder where the ring had come from. His assumption was that it had been stolen from a wealthy merchant, perhaps during a burglary or robbery. It made sense that the gang member had not been able to figure out how to use the ring because he couldn't use magic items.

Kardo focused his mind on the ring, and it responded by opening up to reveal its contents.

As Kardo explored the inventory inside the ring, he found a variety of items. There were some potions that he recognized as healing potions, which could come in handy in case he gets hurt in a fight. He also found some clothing that was of higher quality than what he was currently wearing, so he decided to change into it.

As he continued to explore the inventory, he found a couple of weapons, including a short sword and a crossbow. Kardo was proficient in the use of daggers, but having a backup weapon could be useful, so he decided to keep them.

Kardo also found a couple of other items that he didn't recognize, but he assumed they might be useful in the future. He made a mental note to study them later and figure out what they were.

As he finished exploring the inventory, Kardo realized that the interspatial ring was going to be a valuable asset to him. Not only could he use it to store items, but he could also use it to hide things from others. With a satisfied grin, Kardo put the ring on his finger, feeling the slight weight of it.

He decided to take advantage of the inventory in the ring. He pulled out some fresh clothes and quickly changed, discarding his dirty and bloodstained attire. He also grabbed a potion and drank it, feeling its rejuvenating effects coursing through his body.

Kardo suddenly remembered the book he got from the chest, and upon checking it, the system identified it as a skill book. He eagerly opened the book to see what skills it contained and was surprised to see that it was an Improved Evasion skill book.

Excited to learn a new skill, Kardo quickly read through the book, absorbing the knowledge it contained. As he read, he realized that this skill would greatly enhance his ability to avoid danger and evade attacks.

Kardo closed his eyes and focused on the new skill, letting the knowledge flow through him. He felt his body becoming lighter and more agile, as if he could move more easily and gracefully. He quickly opened his system interface and saw that the skill had been added to his list of skills.

He knew that he would have to practice the skill to truly master it, but he was excited to see what he could do with his improved evasion.

Kardo decided to test out his new skill. He stood up from his bed and walked to the other side of the room. Then he charged forward, trying to tackle the wall head-on. At the last moment, he turned his body to the side and slipped past the wall, avoiding the impact altogether.

Kardo was impressed with how easily he had evaded the wall. The skill had improved his natural ability to avoid danger and dodge attacks, making him even more agile and nimble than before.

Feeling exhausted from the day's events, Kardo decided to rest for a bit before heading out again. He closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind, but the events of the day kept playing over and over in his head.

Kardo sat on the edge of the bed, his mind racing with thoughts about the shadow guild and the task he had been given. He knew that they were using him as a pawn in some larger scheme, but he had yet to figure out what that was.

He took a deep breath and focused on the task at hand. He needed to infiltrate the rival gang and gather information about their operations. It was a dangerous task, but Kardo knew that he was up for the challenge.

He began to analyze his plan for tomorrow, going over each step in his mind. He would need to dress as a member of the rival gang and make his way to their headquarters. Once there, he would need to gather information about their latest heist and report back to Lirien.

But there was something else on Kardo's mind. He couldn't shake the feeling that the shadow guild was planning something bigger than just a heist. He wondered if they were involved in something more sinister, something that could have serious consequences for the city.

Kardo knew that he needed to be careful. He couldn't trust anyone in the shadow guild, not even Lirien. He needed to keep his eyes and ears open at all times, looking for any signs of treachery.

With a sigh, Kardo leaned back on the bed and closed his eyes. He needed to get some rest before tomorrow. It was going to be a long and dangerous day, but he was ready for whatever the shadow guild had in store for him.
