Kardo listened attentively as the robotic voice of the system explained its various features and functions.
"I am the Integrated Neural Enhancement System, or INES for short. My purpose is to assist you in your growth and development as an adventurer." I can provide you with information about location, people, monsters and creatures, items, and equipment, and I can help you manage your inventory and improve your skills. I can also analyze your stats and suggest the best path for you to improve your abilities."
Kardo was impressed by the system's capabilities. "Wow, that's amazing," he said. "So how can you help me improve my abilities?"
INES replied, "I am capable of analyzing your performance in combat and providing you with real-time feedback on how to improve. Additionally, I can automatically convert your knowledge and mastery of your skills to upgrade them to the next level."
Kardo was impressed. "What else can you do?"
INES answered, "I can also provide you with information on quests and missions available in the region and grant you the reward upon completing them, as you have experienced earlier."
Kardo was curious about the origins of the system and asked, "What exactly are you, and who created you?"
The system responded with its usual robotic voice, "I am an AI assistant designed to assist you in your journey. My creation is a result of continued research and development by powerful beings, or someone you call gods and goddesses. My purpose is to help you achieve your full potential by providing guidance and support in order to complete your mission."
Kardo leaned forward and asked the system, "Does the idea of artificial intelligence exist in the world of the gods? And if so, how long has it been around?"
The system hummed for a moment before responding. "Yes, the gods have the capability to create artificial intelligence in their world. As for how long it has existed, it's difficult to say as time operates differently in their realm. However, based on the knowledge I have gathered, it has been a concept for a very long time, possibly even before the creation of mortals."
Kardo nodded thoughtfully. "That's interesting. Do you think the gods have created other systems like yours to help mortals in their world?"
The system paused before answering. "It's possible, but I have no way of knowing for certain. My current programming is limited to the world that I am currently in and the tasks that I was created to perform. But once you reach a certain level, then my level will also increase, thus my abilities and knowledge will improve a lot, which may possibly include information outside of these realms."
Kardo sat back in his chair, pondering where the system got the gold and items it gave as rewards in quests. "System, where do you get all these rewards from?" he asked.
The system replied in its robotic voice, "The gold and items I give as rewards are generated by me using the resources available to me. They are created based on the difficulty and nature of the quest. I have access to a vast database of items and resources, and I generate them on the fly as needed."
Kardo listened intently as the system explained the source of the rewards he received for completing quests. "So, all of the items you give me come from the world of the gods?" he asked, trying to wrap his head around the idea.
"Yes, that is correct," the system replied. "I have a connection to that world, which allows me to obtain these items and use them as rewards for your efforts."
Kardo nodded, impressed by the system's capabilities. He then asked, "What about the gold? Where does that come from?"
"The gold also comes from the world of the gods," the system explained. "It is a form of energy that they use, and I am able to convert it into a currency that is usable in this world."
Kardo nodded, "So, you can create anything you need for a quest?" he asked.
The system replied. "Yes, within certain limits. I have a set of rules and restrictions that guide what I can and cannot generate, but within those limits, I can create a wide range of items and resources to aid you in your quests."
Kardo leaned forward, intrigued. "What kind of limits?" he asked.
The system replied, "I am bound by the laws of quantum science and magic in this world. I cannot generate items that violate those laws. Additionally, I have restrictions on the amount and type of resources I can use to generate items. But within those limits, I can create almost anything you need."
Kardo marveled at the system's abilities. "And what about the crystal inside me?" he asked.
"That crystal is my connection to your body and soul," the system replied. "It allows me to monitor your progress and provide you with feedback on your abilities. It also allows me to give you additional powers and enhancements as you improve."
Kardo nodded, feeling a newfound appreciation for the crystal and the system's connection to it. "I see," he said. "So, everything I do in this world is connected to the world of the gods in some way?"
"In a sense, yes," the system replied. "Your actions and progress in this world are important to the gods, and they use the rewards I provide to encourage and guide you on your journey. It is all part of a greater plan."
Kardo pondered this for a moment before nodding. He felt a sense of purpose and meaning in his quest to improve and grow stronger. Kardo sighed, feeling a sense of loss and homesickness. He had been so focused on his mission and improving his abilities that he had forgotten about his desire to return home. However, he knew that he had to accept his situation and make the most of his new life in this world.
"Is there anything else you need to tell me?" Kardo asked the system.
The system replied, "Yes, there are still many things that you need to learn and discover in this world. You have just scratched the surface of what is possible. There are new quests to undertake, skills to master, and secrets to uncover. Your journey is far from over, and I will be here to guide and assist you along the way."
Kardo nodded, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. He asks the system if it can make a comparison between this world and his world, which is Earth.
The system complied and presented Kardo with a holographic image of his world and the world he is currently in.
"In terms of technology and infrastructure, your world is far more advanced than this world. However, this world is home to magic, mythical creatures, and powerful beings that do not exist in your world. It's a world full of adventure, danger, and mystery, which makes it exciting and unpredictable," the system explained.
Kardo nodded, fascinated by the comparison. He couldn't deny that he was enjoying his time in this world, despite the challenges and dangers that came with it.
"Is there any way for me to go back and forth between the two worlds?" Kardo asked the system.
The system paused for a moment before responding, "It is theoretically possible, but it would require a significant amount of energy and resources to create a stable portal between the two worlds. As of now, there is no known technology or magic that can achieve such a feat."
Kardo nodded, understanding the difficulty of such a task. He then asked the system to keep him updated if any progress was made in this area.
"I will keep you informed, Kardo. In the meantime, I suggest you focus on your adventures and improving your abilities in this world," the system replied.
Kardo collapsed onto his bed, utterly exhausted after his eventful day. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, feeling his body finally relax. The events of the day kept replaying in his mind, from his encounter with Davenport to his induction into the Shadow Guild.
As he drifted off to sleep, Kardo couldn't help but feel grateful for the system and INES. It had been a game changer in his new world, providing him with much-needed guidance and assistance.
As he drifted off into a peaceful sleep, Kardo knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, he would face them head-on, ready to conquer them and become stronger.
