Chapter 4 - Winning the battle

Now that Lyra had escaped from the castle once again to help the rebellion that shared her purpose, Rose had to bear a great burden that she did not expect to experience. The next day, when everyone found out that Lyra had escaped, desperation began to invade the bodies of everyone present in the castle, including the king.

"I can't believe she did that. I will never forgive her, but I won't give her the chance to bother me, so I'll do what a good king would do, save his reputation. Rose, put on the dress, today is your wedding day, congratulations," says the king, who was seated on his throne while the other members of the kingdom were listening.

"Yes, sir, I'll do it right away," says Rose, who leaves the place to go to a room and put on the dress. It was traumatic for her, so this only corrupted Rose's heart and now she only wished for revenge. But she couldn't do much, so she married the prince who had arrived at the castle excited for his wedding.

And so, now the kingdom had declared peace with the southern kingdom and Rose was now the savior of the kingdom, meanwhile, Lyra had arrived at the tribe with the potion in hand, as if she were a warrior who had just found the cure for all ills.

"So, that's the damn potion, without a doubt, you're a person who wants to help us, but let's wait for it to work, so come on, let's build the bridge so the oracle can come," says one of the werewolf men.

The werewolf rebellion began building the bridge in less than a week. When they had it ready, Lyra approached with the potion and threw it onto the bridge, which acquired a protective aura, so it was time to test if it really worked.

Thus, the oracle, that being with feet wrapped in flames, approached from the other side of the bridge, visualizing the situation. He knew inside that this was what would happen, so he began to walk confidently without fear that the bridge would collapse, as the potion worked.

When he reached the other side, everyone was glad that the plan worked, especially Lyra, who could finally gain the trust of the tribe. They took the oracle to the deepest part of the village where the rebels lived, to give him time to concentrate on divining the future that awaited them.

"You must prepare for war, it is inevitable. Blood corrupts the enemy, so you must watch your necks if you want to win," that's all the oracle says, who was in the middle of what looked like a ritual.

"Blood? Neck? Maybe we'll have to face vampires after all, this looks very bad," Marcus says.

"I don't know, but we won't be afraid to face the people who want to harm us, so let's arm ourselves with courage and eradicate evil from the world. And if we need to go to war to achieve that, so be it," says Lyra optimistically.

After chatting a little more with the oracle, he went back the same way he had come, following his destiny to find out the truth of what he was. Meanwhile, the werewolves knew it wasn't time to rest. There was a war to face, so they couldn't celebrate anything yet.

That's why a very arduous training stage began for Lyra, who bravely took on the responsibility of belonging to this kind of rebellion that demanded brave people who, above all, had the desire to move forward, even if they had death in front of them.

During one of the weeks of training, Marcus approached Lyra, who was sharpening an axe, to give her some news that would surely surprise her.

"Lyra, look, this man is Alexander, one of the people who has wanted to end the kingdom by investigating a series of murders. Now he's part of us and will surely teach you some tricks that will make you stronger," says Marcus, who was with Alexander.

"Hello Lyra, I've been told who you are and how you've helped the tribe. We'll surely get along if you really intend to defeat the kingdom, so for now, I just want you to follow some recommendations," says Alexander.

"Sure, you tell me whatever you want, maybe I'll consider it, but it's also possible that I won't," says Lyra as she continued sharpening her axe.

"You're someone with character, huh? Well, don't do it if you don't want to, but if you really want to feel the strength inside you expand like you can't imagine, you should consider what I'm telling you. So get ready, you're about to increase your strength," says Alexander optimistically.

Lyra looked at him with doubt, but it wasn't something that scared her, so she accepted and started working with Alexander in the training. As they worked, they began to share information about the kingdom in a reciprocal manner. Both knew things that were speculations to the ears of ignorant people, which strengthened their friendship even more.

After a few days, Lyra was already learning new skills. She was getting stronger every day, and her past as a princess was just that, a thing of the past. She now belonged to one of the strongest rebellions in the forest.

Although the motivation was quite high, they didn't want to let training time be the only thing they did, so one day they decided to take a break to celebrate among the rebellion and take some time to forget the coming times. Lyra was having a good time, although there weren't many women in the group, and that made many of the male rebels try to conquer Lyra.

She simply rejected them politely and then continued to celebrate, which made her feel safe. In the midst of the celebration, in the forest, a rebel kept running, wanting to reach the base as quickly as possible. His abdominal pain made him think very bad things, so he needed help as soon as possible. He appeared in the middle of the celebration unexpectedly, claiming that the war had begun. Everyone was scared, but then they went to help him and ask him what had happened.

This man had wounds in his stomach caused by a vampire that was lurking around. "This is a problem, those beings are never so close. It must be that they are spying on us. I think they are planning something very bad," Marcus says. "But I don't understand. What do they want from us?" Lyra says very confused. "They know we are their mortal enemies, so they want to finish us off in the most ruthless way possible so they can lead the forest peacefully," Marcus says in a worrying tone. At one point, a kind of stone appeared in the middle of the celebration, thrown by someone in the forest.

Then, it exploded, overwhelming everyone who was nearby. It was a small explosion but loud enough to alert the werewolves that something bad was happening. "They are attacking us!" Marcus says, pointing deep into the forest. "We must go after them," Lyra says boldly.

"What are you talking about?" says Marcus.

"We can't allow our home to be the site of the battle. It's time to make a frontal attack, even then we'll have some advantage because they won't expect it," says Lyra, trying to make a good point.

After a couple of discussions, the rebels agreed to be the ones to attack, so they began to gather their weapons and then go deep into the forest. They strategically managed to find the vampires that were nearby and eliminate them once and for all. After that, they began to go deeper into the forest, trying to find the majority of the vampires.

It was something that didn't cost them anything because the vampires didn't want to hide, they were more than prepared to end their natural rivals. When the rebels found them, the vampires were organized in a very threatening way. It was as if they were already waiting for them, it was a large army where the leader of the vampires was located in the middle.

"At last, our headache has arrived. It's time to show them they cannot stay in the same forest as us. Attack without any fear," says the vampire leader. "We were supposed to catch them off guard, but they were already prepared to attack us. What happened?" says Marcus. "I don't know, but it's time to end these beings who have no reason to be here.

We are the moon in its fullest splendor! Attack!" says Lyra, who starts running alongside the warriors. The battle had begun, and there could only be one winner, one that would prove to be the strongest in the forest. It was not a peaceful or friendly battle with the rival; it was one of the wildest that could have happened. Three days had passed in continuous battle, and both sides were terribly exhausted, but neither would surrender without giving a last breath.

"This is impossible!" says the vampire king as he sees Lyra approaching at great speed. Lyra wasn't transformed into a werewolf because she didn't need to. She was exhausted, but in no way was she going to allow the werewolves to lose. So, she went directly towards the king since she had lost her defending warriors. With a great jump and a lot of strength, she raised her axe and used it very precisely, injuring the vampire king and leaving him completely wounded.

The vampires were very weak, so the werewolves, with the help of the moonlight, were able to take advantage of their rivals' weakness and end all those who were there. Thus, with great bravery and tenacity, they managed to defeat the vampires and become the warriors who achieved victory in a bloody and merciless battle.
