The warriors were agitated, staring directly at the minions, the three werewolves were completely controlled by their instincts, they wanted to finish off all the enemies and continue on their way, plus they needed to help Lyra with her wounds.
But the minions didn't want their meal to rebel against them, it was disrespectful to leave them alive or let them escape, it simply wasn't something they could allow, which made the werewolves even more furious than before.
Their rage and desire for revenge were burning inside them, making them not even consider leaving the minions alone, so Marcus was about to go towards where they were, with a strong desire for blood. But that was when they started hearing the tremors.
"What's happening?" says Alexander with a deep voice while holding Lyra in his arms.
The werewolves were completely absorbed in their instincts, but that didn't mean they couldn't feel those strange sounds that were getting closer and closer. Until finally, they realized what was happening.
A shadow was devouring the entire group, a breath that exhaled vapor showed that this being... was not here to play, its aggressiveness and muscular build made the werewolves swallow their saliva and realize they had no strength compared to this creature.
It was bigger than an ogre, this esbirro who was coming from the opposite direction of where they were all gathered, stood out from the rest as he was the largest and strongest, and therefore meant that he was the one who took care of serious problems.
"Now you'll know you're no match for us. You're doomed," says an esbirro who laughs at the sight of the approaching monster.
The group was bewildered. While they might have had the advantage against these evil beings, even if they were outnumbered, seeing this monster was more than enough to understand that they had everything against them and there was no way out of this situation.
"We must flee from here!" Alexander says, realizing the gravity of the situation.
Perhaps he was entering into despair, but this situation could only mean one thing, and that was their end. However, he was the only one who saw it that way as the other werewolves saw this as an opportunity to unleash their fury.
The werewolf Sparta charged at the beast, which only saw them as prey to be destroyed. It stood still for a moment, assessing the situation, but when it saw the werewolf approaching, it became angry and responded aggressively.
The two went at each other with murderous intent. However, the esbirro had more strength, so when they finally collided, the werewolf went flying through the air from the direct blow it received from the esbirro.
"Marcus!" Alexander shouted.
Seeing this situation, Alexander became very angry, as Marcus, being so badly injured by the blow, reverted back to being human and passed out on the ground. Now, Marcus had two unconscious allies.
So, upon seeing this disadvantage, Alexander drew his sword and mentally prepared himself to take down anyone who dared to harm his loved ones. The other werewolves were equally enraged by what had happened, so they also charged at the giant henchman.
While the werewolves charged towards the largest foe, Alexander stayed back to guard their rear. He skillfully dispatched one enemy after another. However, the other werewolves were not so fortunate.
They were trying to devise a strategy to take down this beast, as they were warriors who learned from defeat and did not make the same mistakes twice. However, this enemy was stronger in every sense, and they had no chance.
This was evident when one of them ended up crashing into a tree as the esbirro sent him flying without mercy while the other tried to strike him from his blind spot but had the same fate as his friend...wounded and powerless to continue fighting.
Things were looking bleak for the group. Now, there was only one warrior left who would have to defend everyone, but he was at a significant disadvantage, which prevented him from thinking calmly. However, he knew he had to act, regardless of what happened.
So, he decided to attack the root cause of the problem, just to solve the problem once and for all. This man may have been a mere human, but his tenacity and will to live gave him such prowess on the battlefield that he was not a simple warrior...he was the fastest human that could exist.
He shook off the minions and with his sword in hand, he started running towards where the big minion was, wanting to finish it off once and for all. Meanwhile, the minion waited for it to be the same as with the others, but Alexander thought his moves a little more. So when they were close enough, Alexander made an inhuman move, ending up behind the minion to try to cut its head off with his sharp sword.
"I'll finish you off!" Alexander shouted with great determination. He was about to defeat it. He had it to one move to end its life, but it was when the minion showed why it was the salvation of its species... "Huh?!" Alexander says when he sees the minion's arm take the impact. The minion realized what he was trying to do, so he had no choice but to cushion the blow as best he could to save his life. So, with the sword embedded, he was able to grab Alexander with his other hand to put him in front of him and thus... be able to subdue him.
"No...stop!" says Alexander as he sees himself getting closer to the monster's mouth. There was no escape, it was too strong and seemed very hungry, which is why the desperation in Alexander was so great that he could only see his end approaching slowly, until... "Enough foolishness," says Lyra, who appeared on top of the monster. She looked very angry, an anger that she wanted to unleash with all her might. So when she sees that the esbirro's defenses were low, she takes advantage and hits it with a powerful kick to the head. A groan came out of the esbirro's mouth.
The blow was so hard that at that very moment of receiving it, it let go of Alexander as he fell to the ground. The ground rumbled as the giant fell. Meanwhile, Alexander was trying to assimilate what was happening, and Lyra was only looking at the other esbirros, analyzing the situation and trying to take action to get them out of trouble.
"The great Burbur fell. These are monsters that will finish us off, run while you can! This won't be the end of it, I swear you'll hear from us again...run," says an esbirro who, upon seeing the situation, saw no other option but to flee.
Lyra saw all the fear these creatures were feeling with her cold gaze, understanding that there was no longer any danger in sight since the biggest esbirro was completely unconscious. When she realized this, she went to help Alexander, who still seemed surprised by what had happened.
"Lyra, are you okay? How did..." Alexander asks with uncertainty.
"I'm fine, don't worry. I'm still hurt, but I couldn't let my team fail at the first risk that presented itself," she says in a friendly tone.
"This was very risky. I don't understand how we survived. Besides, the werewolves are just waking up now, they shouldn't have fallen with the first blow that knocked them out...it's disappointing," Alexander says, trying to be a little aggressive with the team.
"Don't say that, they did what they could. Now we need to trust each other more than ever...oh," says Lyra before falling to the ground due to the blow she received.
