"You did good, Ellie."
Eleanor nodded at his words. They both sat there in silence. After some time, Eleanor felt him place is hand over her hands that were settled in her lap. She looked at him, and saw a sad smile cross his face, which she stared at quizzically.
"It's nothing, Ellie," he said quietly. "Come, we should take care of a few things before you head out."
Lucas stood and walked over to his desk. Eleanor stood hesitantly, before following him. The spent the next hour going over some paperwork that he wanted her to see. Eventually there was knock at the door.
"Enter," said Lucas.
Misha opened the door and announced, "My Lady, it's time for you to get ready for dinner."
Eleanor nodded, and started to follow her out of the room. Lucas grabbed her hand before she could get far.
"Wait," he whispered.
Eleanor stopped.
"I... I'll see you at dinner," he said while tightly holding her hand.
