The Next Morning

King woke up earlier to get his daily routine started, warming up and sharpening his weapons and checking his bag for everything he knew it would need for the upcoming quest. King made his way to the big house and saw Chiron and Dionysus. "Chiron, Lord Dionysus. Good morning, I can see you haven't dragged in the lasted Claim yet." King stated. "We sent Grover to grab the boy. He is going to cause me such a headache. If only I did not have my restrictions." Dionysus started opening a can of Diet Coke. "As troublesome as the boy may be, Milord, you have to realize that Lord Poseidon will not easily let any other God or Goddess harm him. Also, your father could easily use the boy to find his bolt." "Find his bolt that boy does not possess it?" Chiron asked King. King shook his head. "He does not have the bolt. If so, I would have felt the weapon's power coming off him, His mother or his belongings. His hands are constantly clean, and his handwriting is terrible, so I know he did not seal the weapon away anywhere. I am willing to bet my life he does not have it." King told the two Immortal Beings. "Where do you think the weapon is?" Dionysus asked. "I am not sure, but I believe I felt a very suppressed Demigod power on the day of the Thief and his mother said the boy was at her house when it went down. And before you ask no I do not know who's signature it was it was also tainted which made it hard to Identify." "Well, I still have to report to my father about this King you understand." "Of course, Milord you know I am not one to question your actions unless they can bring harm to the Campers." Dionysus nodded as Percy and Grover came into the room. He also felt Annabeth's presence in the room as well.

"Well, if it isn't our local Super star, do not expect me to bow to you because of your father. I should turn you into a bottlenose and send you back to him. Or maybe some spontaneous combustion." King stopped himself from chuckling and spoke, "Milord, I highly suggest you do not do that. I believe we all rather not feel the wrath of an angry sea god. Also, I do not believe I can use "Perfect Cube'' To protect the camp if you do." Dionysus rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Chiron send him on his way before I get back or I really will transform him into a dolphin. Young Harlequin keep the Boy in check we do not need him trying to run away with the weapon if he does have it." Dionysus took out a card and then vanished in a plume of grapes.

"How come he says your name right?" Percy asked. "Well, I assume it's because I am a form of entrainment for all the Gods, when I fight, they often tune in to watch, I would also like to think that he is fond of me, but I am not crossing my fingers at the thought." King replied. Percy turned to Chiron, "What did Mr. D mean about sending me on my way?" "Well, I must ask First what you thought about the Hellhound experience?" "I was scared I am thankful that you and King where there to protect me or I would have died." "I am afraid by the time you are done you will have faced many more experiences like this before it is all said and done that is if you accept of course." Percy looked at Chiron and asked, "What do you mean accept what?" "You will be given a quest to retrieve the Master Bolt of Zeus from the Lighting Thief, whomever they may be. Lord Zeus, believe you stole the bolt, but I know you have not there is no evidence of its power anywhere near you." King was the one who spoke this time. "This will naturally include getting a prophecy and do not worry your mother will have protected her at camp. I have called in a few favors to ensure this. I will also be going with you. I have a feeling that something bad will be happening and my gut feelings have never been wrong." "Chiron nodded. "Well then now that is taken care of time for you to go get your prophecy." "Be careful there might be stray owls hanging around." King said as he felt Annabeth's aura flux in fear. Percy went up to the attic to see the oracle.

"Hey wise girl you can come out now." King said once Percy was fully gone, and he was away from the other two people. With an embarrassed look Annabeth took off her baseball cap and refused to make eye contact with King. "How did you know?" King just chuckled. "Well, it's because you had the terrible idea to sneak up on a sensor. If I did not know who it was, I would have thrown a knife at you, you know this." Annabeth, still finding the floor very interesting, got even more red. "Sorry King I was just curious and wanted to go on the quest." She spoke quietly. King walked up to her and took a note out of Itachi's book as he tapped her forehead with two fingers. "I told you to stop to stop doing that!" She said even more red. "Calm down Annie, Percy will come down soon with the Prophecy let's go met with him." She nodded and followed King back into the main part of the Big House as he was walking, he felt a shift in the air and a weight on his shoulder. A fully Mature Snow owl now sat there. "Well Kyria, it's nice of you to join me. You were supposed to be back last night." Kyria just pecked him in the head, and he chuckled as he pets the owl's head. 5 minutes later Percy finally came down and his eyes were worried. King was confused and was the first to speak. "What did She say and do not skip on anything I saw your eyes what is so bad?" Percy Gulped and then spoke out the Prophecy.

"You shall go west to face the god who has turned, you shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned, you shall be betrayed by the one you call friend, And the Thread will lose something in the end."

King was alarmed at this and the last line had changed and mentioned him by what the fates called him. "K-king," Annabeth said with a minor stutter. Chiron also looked at King and noticed that his eyes seemed to harden like he was ready for battle. A million thoughts went through his head. He quickly took note of everything the Fates might take from him or if the rewording of the prophecy to scare him. "So, I do not know if this is a declaration of war from the Fates. But if they had something to do with this Prophecy there will be hell to pay." He said calmly letting lose some of his Killing Intent. "We will leave soon Percy, You, Annabeth, and Grover so everyone go get ready." King left the big house ignoring the stares. King made his way to his thinking place, The Hearth. "What is wrong King?" Hestia asked, seeming to come out of nowhere. "There was a Prophecy saying that we will get the Bolt back." He said not looking at her. "That is wonderful news! What is the issue? "Hestia said, confused. "The oracle mentioned me by the title I was given by the Fates. It said I will lose something in the end." She gasped and covered her mouth. "Do you know what exactly?" "No, I do not. It could be I lose another weapon, I lose a friend, or I could even lose my own life." King said, standing back up. "We are leaving today I wanted to let you know that." She grabbed his hand and then spoke. "Just make sure you come back to Us the camp and everyone here." She said passionately. King nodded. "Well wish me luck." She kissed his cheek and then said, "You don't need luck if anyone can prevent their fate it is you. You are the Thread Nicker after all." King nodded. "Thanks Auntie, I'll make sure to come back soon and safely." He said with a big smile, giving her a hug and walking away.

King found his way to the base of Chastiefol Tree and placed his hand on it. "I bet you wish you had Chastiefol right now don't you." He turned around and saw Annabeth. He nodded, "Yeah, I'm sure that would make for a good nap right now!" He said, smiling at Annabeth. She just shook her head and laughed. "You're so lazy." "Oh, whatever you know you loved laying up there on Chastiefol with me." He said with a smirk and Annabeth turned pink. "Whatever you troublesome boy!" "Watch out, it looks like I am rubbing off on you." She crossed her arms and pouted, turning away from him. "Ahem." They both turned to see an amused Grover and a Jealous Percy. "Yo guys you ready to go." King said. Seeing their heads nod, King started to make his way to the edge of the border; he then heard Luke call out, "Wait guys. I am glad I caught you before you left, I wanted to give you these. Maia!" He called out after showing a pair of wing shoes. The shoes started to move at the code phrase. Percy was in awe of the shoes. "Woah these are great! They should help when we are in a jam." Percy said. Luke spoke again, "Yeah go kill some monsters for me! Annabeth looks after the King; we don't need him taking naps and dying on us." He said, chuckling. King just waved him off as the older boy walked away. "I can't use these can I?" "Not unless you wanted to get shocked." He handed the box to King, but he shook his head. "Don't need them, I move faster on the ground." He then handed them to Grover. "Want a magical item G-man?" King proceeded to drown out the rest of the conversation then they loaded up into the van to get to the city.

The group made their way to the bus stop. ~The first part of the quest is coming up with the Furies.~ King thought. He watched as they played with an apple. "Guys Imma go make a call I will be right back." King walked away from the group and took out a Drachmas. "O Iris goddess of the rainbow please accept my call and show me Zoe Nightshade of the hunt." He called out as he threw the coin. He had made it a note to make sure to call Zoe to let her know that he was out of the camp, he would find out where the Hunt was located so they did not disturb the girls, even though the original group did not run into the Hunt he was not going to take any chances. Zoe Shimmered into the screen and King saw his friend throwing a knife for practice. "Hello Miss Nightshade." He spoke up, making the girl miss the last throw. Her head spun around fast and looked at the screen. "Harlequin! How are you!" She asked "I am fine thanks for asking, also I am out of the camp on an official quest. I was wondering what zone you guys are in, so We do not wander into your camp? I am traveling with some people you are familiar with however is a new boy and I do not want him acting stupid causing us to have to fight our way out or getting killed." Zoe looked a little saddened that the Boy just called for the usual information and not to talk to her. "We are in North Dakota Right now we should be moving through to Colorado closer to the end of the month." King Nodded and smiled at the girl. "Thanks Zoe, I appreciate it a lot. Also, I believe the boy I am with is wielding a blade you are familiar with do you want me to take it back for you or destroy it I could do so easily and replace it for him?" "You mean he has that sword?" She said with some steel in her voice, King nodded, "Yes he does its balanced for him proving his heritage of sea decent." She thought for a minute and then spoke. "No let the boy keep the blade. Also, I hope you are keeping my Knife safe. I will be getting it back!" She said excitedly. "You act like I have been Slacking dearest Zoe. I will have you know even without Chastiefol I can still take you on!" King said with equal enthusiasm. "Good luck Harlequin, try to make it back safely." King nodded and said his goodbyes to Zoe.

King walked back to the rest of the group and noticed it increased by one. "Annabeth, why is Kyria here?" Annabeth shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure did you not call for her?" King replied, "No, I called Miss Nightshade to make sure we don't run into the hunt. The last thing we need is trouble with them." "Oh okay that makes sense. Kyria perch." King called out and the owl flew to his shoulder where it got comfortable. "Well it looks like we have another friend for the ride." They all loaded up the bus ready to begin the quest.

"Well it's been 5 whole minutes without a monster attack." Percy said. King just sighed and shook his head. "Nice job Seaweed for brains you know Murphy's law and the fates just love to prove people like you wrong." Annabeth said. "What is your problem why do you not like me?" Percy asked. "It's not you Percy Annabeth is just falling victim to her mother's rivalry against Lord Poseidon. So do not take anything personally." King explained. "Annie please tone it down after all we are a team if we are going to succeed in the quest we all need to work together." Annabeth huffed and then said, "Fine you are right." "Hey King how come everyone looked at you when I spoke the last line of the prophecy?" Percy asked. "That line called me out." "Called you out? Why did it call you the Thread?" I have had a run in with the sister fates before when I was 7 I did something they never expected. I changed someone's fate. It was their fate to become the tree that protected the camp but I prevented it." Percy listened to the story with awe. "How did you do that? Who was supposed to be the tree?" King looked down and Annabeth and Grover both went to console their friend. "I used my weapon Chastiefol to block the magic that would have changed them. But once I passed out from protecting the group I was in I had a dream with the Fates in it. Running around and trying to repair a nick in the thread that I created. After that I was called the Thread Nicker, the only one to defy them. As for the person they were trapped in a barrier, a powerful one, it put them in a stasis and keeps everyone out. The notebook I carry around its my notes on the barrier I am trying to break it down so I can free my friend and apologize for not being able to stop them." Percy just nodded understanding. "So the prophecy said you would lose something. Any clue what?" King shook his head and said, "No but I'm so hoping it's another weapon I usually break one on missions." King said, chuckling. The rest of the group joined him. A few more minutes passed and King sat there with Annabeth playing with Kyria. "I thought you said they would take a while to come back." They heard Percy say. King looked over to see the furies get on the bus. "King all three of them." Grover said.

King nodded and stood up and walked up the furies. "Hello ladies. Nice to see you again. What do I owe this pleasure looking for a rematch?" King asked. Tisiphone hissed at King. "Child of Demeter why are you here!! We are here for the Thief!!" King looked at Tisiphone with a glare which shut her up. "What is it that Perseus has stolen that affects you?" Alecto spoke this time. "He stole the Helm of our master! And we want it back!" King sighed, "I am sorry ladies but he does not have the Helm nor did anyone else know the Helm of Lord Hades was stolen. There are many mortals around. If we must fight, let's take it somewhere else. The last thing your master needs is more work if some innocent people die." Magara spoke this time, "Just give us the helm Harlequin Liones and we will not try to fight you." King looked at her and said, "Well I appreciate your leave of headiness Magara however I swear on the river we do not have the helm." The sound of thunder went off and the sisters were hoping that the Styx would take its fury out on him. "Fine we will withdraw now but be warned boy there are a lot of gods out for your head and the weapon." King nodded as the furies left he walked back to the others and said, "Let's go it seems our presence on this bus is drawing attention to gods. Last thing we need is a mortal to get injured because of us." King said after a bit of complaints they all left the bus.

"King, how did you get the furies to go away?" Grover asked. "I told them the truth, we don't have the weapon they seek." "And they believed you." King nodded. "Yes also Magara was very understanding and not being rude so I swore on the river we did not have it and she swore on the river they would leave us alone for now." Annabeth looked at King, "Why would you make a promise like that!" "It was the most peaceful way to resolve the fight. We do not need anyone getting injured!" King said now let's go, it's getting dark.

The group made their way to the forest. Where they found a shop on the side of the road. "What does that sign say?" Percy asked. Annabeth shrugged. "I don't know." "Auntie Em's Garden Gnome Emporium" Grover spoke up. "Guys we shouldn't go in there, I smell monsters." "I agree with Grover guys." Percy and Annabeth ignored the warnings. "Your moss is still clogged from the Kindly ones. It will be fine, G-man." "Yeah all I can smell is food." King shook his head and discreetly pulled out the Sword of the Thunder God clipping it to his belt loop. "Grover I believe you are correct but do not worry I will take whatever it is one then you can say I told you so to our gluttonous friends." King said as he followed Annabeth and Percy.

"Kyria perch." King called as he motioned for his owl to sit on Annabeth's shoulder. "Hello, is anyone here?" Percy called out. "Oh visitors, we don't get many visitors around these parts." A woman with a veil walked out of the back half of the room. "Please come in and pull up a chair. You poor things must be starving. Where are your parents." "My father lives in Colorado, my friends and I are on our way to meet him, we just stopped to get some food Ma'am." King said respectively.

[Medusa, Cursed women, Level 50]

"Oh traveling that far you kids must be tired and very hungry come on." Medusa said as she motioned for them to follow her. "Guys I don't like this did you hear that hissing noise." Grover said worryingly. "Woah you have great ears to hear the fryer from there." Medusa said. "You know Annabeth, you have very lovely eyes. And a very nice pet." Medusa said, holding in her rage. King's hand slowly made its way to his weapon. "Huh that's funny I don't recall any of us saying our names." King stared at her down. "Bahhh this looks just like my Uncle Ferdinand." Grover said laughing. "Percy I think we should go." Annabeth said. "How about a picture before you all leave." Medusa said. "You all just need to sit still for a second." King took this opportunity to turn the attention on to him. "Well the last time I was told to sit still for a second I ended up killing two snakes. They had some weird names named after Medusa's sisters in Greek mythology. Crazy right "Auntie M''." He said Medusa's head turned around quickly to meet his glare. "Oh really what happened to the snakes?" "Like I said I killed them funny thing they poofed into dust and left behind some of their blood." King said slowly, closing his eyes knowing what was about to happen. With rage Medusa said. "As if my sisters would die to some child like you!" She said as she went to take off her head dress.

"Kyria go!" The owl took off from Annabeth's head and grabbed the headdress Medusa was wearing and started wrapping it around her head making sure she couldn't get it off. "Perseus kill her!" Percy uncapped Riptide and went to swing at Medusa. She fell backwards tripping on her feet causing Percy to just slice at her midsection leaving a massive incision.

[Medusa is cursed by Athena to turn anyone she looks at into stone. This is because of Poseidon taking her into Athena's temple and having his way with her. Due to the curse she is severely weakened and feels she can take anyone out with just one look making her neglect her training.]

King looked at his information and he was not concerned at all she was weaker than her sisters but she had fell into laziness because of her magical abilities. "Percy finish her off if she recovers she can kill us with a glaze it's the real Medusa!" Annabeth said. At this time Kyria was slapped away from Medusa and she got her headdress undone. "Everyone do not look at her directly she will turn you into stone!" King said pulling out his sword and making it come to life. Medusa charged at King finding him the threat and sliced at the boy. Using his [Aura Sense] he jumped back out of the way and avoided the hit. "Percy I can not fight all the battles you need to do this one yourself." King announced as he dodged another swipe from Medusa. Percy came out of nowhere and sliced off her head before she could attack King again. "Kyria clean up duty." The owl come down from its hiding place and wrapped the head up in the headdress before it picked it up and struggled to fly it to king the head was heavier than it looked for the owl. "Thank you lady." King said as he pet Kyria on her head. "Well what are we going to do with it?" Percy asked King handed it to Percy and said. "It is your spoil of war you decide. Be warned all of its abilities still work." They all started to leave the building not wanting to be there anymore but Percy stopped and said, "Wait a minute guys." He walked back into the building and King followed him to make sure the boy would be okay. "What are you doing?" King asked. "Sending the gods a little present." He explained as he put the head in a box. "You know they won't like that." Annabeth said as she and Grover walked in. "Oh well it's going." Percy told them before he could send it King stopped him. "Wait I have something else to send as well." He grabbed something off of themselves and they all laughed. "Okay off it goes." Percy said as he sent the box to Olympus by putting a few coins on top.

They all left the shop and made their way into the woods. "Okay guys we are stopping for the night," King said. They all stopped. Grover and Annabeth looked at King expectantly. "Well why do you keep looking at me?" King asked. "Well are you going to make camp?" Annabeth asked. King sighed and then clapped his hands and slammed them on the ground. "Wood Style: Four Pillar house" like many times before a house sprouted from the ground complements of King. "Okay let's go to sleep." King walked into the house followed by Annabeth, Grover and an awe struck Percy. "Okay Percy and Grover in one room Annabeth in another. I'll be in the fireplace room. Let me know if you need anything." King said as he took his place on the couch. The rest of the groups got some much needed rest, all of them except one.
