Chapter 3 - The Diary

Ella's soft voice causes the man to stop in his tracks. She waits for him to turn around, but he doesn't. She awkwardly moves towards him and stands right behind him. The tall brunette can feel a presence behind him, but doesn't turn back as he already knows who the person is. Ella's tries to tap his shoulder but stops in midway as she thinks of calling him, "Uh, excuse me."

Again, the male doesn't turn around, which Ella takes as a clue to make it quick and leave for her dear life. She lowers her head in embarrassment for getting ignored. "I-" she was about to say, but the male speaks in the middle by mocking, "If you are done with this little show of yours so I can leave?"

"Huh?" was all Ella could utter. The male turns to face her with a blank expression, causing her to shift her gaze down as blush rushes towards the ears surrounding her cheeks. "I am waiting," says the male, causing Ella to come back to her senses. "I—" again she stutters, but this time the male hisses in irritation, turning on his heels to leave the place. Ella's eyes widen as she quickly yells in one go, "I wanted to say thank you."

The male stops again, but this time back stiffens upon hearing her words but doesn't turn back. Ella continues her words before stepping back into the shop, as she knew he would not turn around. "For saving my life. Thanks again"

The male turned around to say something, but Ella wasn't there. "Guess I turned back too late," he says to himself before walking away.

Ella takes her goodies and reaches the NGO, welcomed by the soft giggles and hugs of the children waiting for her. She shares the presents with them and the staff there too. They surprised her with a little cake-cutting ceremony. Tori knows it all, causing Ella to burst into tears. She cried in joy at the happiness and love surrounding her. After a cherished day, she returned home tired and content.

Tori dropped her and bid farewell to her. Opening the door, she was welcomed by her parents, who were sitting in lounge chairs watching a television show.

"How was your day, sweetie?" her mother asks as soon as she sees Ella.

"Unforgettable," says Ella with a smile.

"Come here and sit with us," her father suggests.

She reaches out and hugs both of them tiredly. "My angel is tired," says her father as he feels her tense muscles.

"Yeah!" hums Ella lowly.

Her mother pats her head slowly, causing her to close her eyes. Living in the moment "You want some hot chocolate, sweetie?" her mother asks.

Ella moves her head in denial as she hums slowly. "No, I just want to go and take a nap."

"Okay, as you please," her father says after pecking her temple.

She smiles and kisses both of her parents' cheeks before bidding them good night and advancing towards her room.

Opening the room door, she smiles tiredly, remembering her whole day. Throwing herself on her bed, she says lightly, "Ah, what a day it was." After laying for some time, she gets up and freshens up after taking a warm shower. She sits on her bed, scrolling through her phone, thinking about the beautiful memories she created today. Her smile is reaching as far as her ears as she continues to scroll through her media. But suddenly her mind got stuck on that road incident that happened earlier. She got a weird feeling, which she can't comprehend herself; it wasn't nauseous or tingling, just a little numbness. Trying to ignore the feeling, she covered herself in her duvet and closed her eyes. She tossed on her bed for hours, but that feeling made her wide awake, causing all her tiredness to vanish away.

"Perfect," she muttered, irritated at herself. She sits up and checks the time, waiting for the clock to strike 2 a.m.

"Pretty normal now for me," she says as she gets up, locks her room door, and moves towards the book shelf attached to the right side of it. From the lowest rank, she takes out a black key hidden in a floral jar. She unlocked the second shelf and took out a plain, blue-covered dairy. "Ah, there you are," she says, patting her dairy. She sits on her bed, turning on the light of her night stand as she skims through her diary.

It's her diary, which everyone is aware of. Everyone thinks they know her clearly, but they don't. Ella always hides a part of herself from everyone, just like an event in her past did that to her. She shares her happiness and joys with everyone but keeps her worries and sorrows in the pages of her diary. She has a habit of writing down all the bothersome thoughts and devastating events in it, as it helps to ease her mind with a feeling of feeling free and not being judged by anyone.

Dear Diary,

Here I am today.

Today I encountered a strange incident.

I was about to get into an accident. But that wasn't my concern. My concern was for the person who saved me. But most importantly, "Why? Why did he save me?"

I am no one to be saved for. I… I don't know how to say this, but the whole feeling is so weird.

The truck was close. I thought it was the end, but it wasn't. I was saved at the last minute. But the biggest thing was that I couldn't thank that person properly. He didn't know me but still saved me.

Regardless of any meaning,

I guess this is what my mom always tells me: "Kindness. Humanity. Helping someone without any greed or personal gain." If in future by any chance I will meet him again, I will thank him properly.

Not a stuttering mess for sure.

But, dear diary, you know how delusional I am. I just don't feel like myself when talking to strangers.

Umm… The NGO time was awesome.

Everything was just as I always wanted.

Tomorrow I have decided to start some work on myself.

I will start painting and writing.

But for this, I have to go to art exhibitions and libraries.

Sounds good… but tiring too.

Ah… really tiring *Yawns*

Ella closes the diary with a long yawn and sigh. Placing it in its place and making sure everything is in its right place Heading towards her bed and covering herself in warm duvets, she drifted into her dreamland.
