Arianna/Thea
I could steal the money from the noblemen walking around these cobblestone streets their pockets filled with gold.
It would have been an easy task if I could use my magic. As I can sense the hum of enchantments on their pockets and without my magic it would instantly alert them if I tried to so much as try to touch their wealth.
Artemis's warning rang in my ears, I don't need to push my luck by using magic when I am in the heart of the enemy kingdom.
Fortunately, my magic is not the only weapon I have.
I myself am a weapon that can cut through anything.
In this big city there will surely be people who will be ready to rob people.
I just need to find them.
After searching in places where there were almost no soldiers posted.
It was a less wealthy part of the city.
It was still beautiful, and the houses were at least two Storey tall. But these streets were less secured compared to the streets I just walked out of.
It only took me about ten minutes to find suspicious looking men lurking in the shadows, eying the people, deciding on their next victim.
It is time to stir up some trouble.
There are three of them. They are rough looking men, two of them looked like they would break if hit too hard. They were nimble on their steps but looked like they had no fighting experience.
The third one though, he was big in size, but I could see that his size is the only advantage he has. There was a laziness in his steps as if he had too much to eat and would rather sleep than be here in the heat of this afternoon.
It would be pretty easy to take them on.
But how would I bait them? As I am in a plain gown and give the appearance of a poor peasant girl, who doesn't have anything for them to rob of.
Oh wait! I do have my necklace.
I touched the simple piece of necklace that I have on my neck. It costs a small fortune.
It belongs to my mother so I would never sell it.
But it would work as a good bait for a thief.
Without waiting another moment, I made my way towards them, making sure that my necklace was on full display. with a smile and a spring in my step, mimicking the look of a carefree naïve girl I have seen many times.
I do hope that I look the part. Or this would not work.
I walked directly to the skinny looking suspicious man, "excuse me,"
He turned to me, surprise flitted through his face at the sight of me.
"Have you seen my cat?" I asked with a sad expression. "It was a street cat, his name is milo, he ran away from me. Perhaps you have seen him anywhere."
He stood still not saying anything while staring at me for several moments.
"I have seen it." a voice sounded from behind him. "It went into that alley." the guy behind him said pointing at the dark alley behind him. He looked just like the guy I was talking to, their facial shapes almost similar.
The only difference was that the guy I was talking to has curly hair and he has a younger look to him while the one behind him looked a bit older with short hair. They must be siblings.
The older one's greedy eyes locked onto my necklace.
"Come on we will help you find him." he said, elbowing the younger guy.
"You would do that?" I asked with eternal gratitude in my eyes.
I followed them into the alley as we went the big guy looking guy followed us. When I turned to him with question in my eyes,
"I will make sure that your cat doesn't escape." he said,
"You are such a gentle man." I said looking as if I was proud of him. There was a leery smile on his face, with triumph sparkling in his eyes as he thought that they had me.
Poor naive girl falling into their trap while they were the ones who fell into my trap.
