"The bidding is about to begin" he says and I stare at him, those black orbs always manage to grab my attention and keep me on them.
"I thought it was to start at 10:00?" I say looking at my wristwatch, it was already 11am.
"Relax princess, they wouldn't dare start the auction without me there" he says with a hint of arrogance in his voice as he walked ahead, towards the auction hall.
We stepped into the room and I could swear almost everyone turned to look at us, all the fancy, rich people, just staring at us.
"You say that like you're not rich yourself" he says and I stared at him with widened eyes.
"Did I say that out loud?!" I asked in shock.
"Hell yeah" he says with a slight chuckle, an action that seemed to captivate me and all the swooning ladies around.
We made our way to the front and stood by our tables. It was a freaking huge room but with only tables and fancy champagne glasses sitting on them.
"Ugh, why're there no seats here?" I groaned in annoyance and I know I sounded like a child at the moment.
"The auction would be quick" he says, facing the stage as a brunette in a red dress walked up to it and started speaking, her eyes roamed around the room as she spoke and when they landed on Zach, her smile brightened and her eyes twinkled, but not before glaring at me.
Thirty minutes passed and I was already so weak. They kept the champagne flowing but I haven't seen anything close to food in this place since I got here.
"I'm hungry" I whined but loud enough for only me to hear, but of course, mystery guy beside me heard me too.
"You realize there is a food table just a few feet away, right?" He's says and looks at me like I was stupid, which I seem to be at the moment. Even I don't know why I'm being so casual around him, almost like we've been friends for long.
I walked away from the table and let my eyes roam around the table, trying to find the food table. And alas! It was just in the corner of the hall. I picked a plate and selected some food, but just as I started wolfing down on the food, I heard someone speak beside me.
"So you're the date?" I hear a lady say beside me.
"Excuse me?" I say, turning around to see who was talking and I wasn't the least bit surprised to see that glare monster.
