Chapter 6 - Gale

After the fight between Shevel and Lea, the trials were about to wrap up. Nothing interesting happened except Hakith challenging one of the spots after the healers fixed his arm. He won, convincingly, but his earlier defeat still overshadowed his victory.

The three professors dismissed everyone except the remaining ten spots before speaking.

"Now that all of you are officially Violet Class Students, we can now formally introduce ourselves. I am Professor Noel, Violet Class, human. I will see all of you on the battlefield," the man with the blade introduced.

"I, on the other hand, will meet you at the training grounds. You can call me Professor Maktham. Just like Noel, I am a Violet Class Professor, and as you can see, I am a dwarf," the dwarf followed.

The elf was about to introduce himself as well when a white tiger appeared above the arena. It was carrying two people, one was an old man with fluffy long white hair and a beard, and the other one was a man with short white hair and sorrowful white eyes.

"What brings you here, Sir Anthel?" the elf asked.

'A Harsel,' Z thought after seeing a unique tattoo on the ears of the old man.

"Hahahaha! Do you hate me that much?" the old man laughed before continuing. "This child is from the Tokenless Lane. Need I say more?"

The eyes of Noel and Maktham went wide after hearing the old man. There can only be one reason why a child is irregularly brought to other trial sites, talent!

"Oh? Just how talented are you to have Sir Anthel vouch for you?" Noel asked the white-haired boy. The 19-year-old boy could only lower his head at the question of Noel. He was definitely a shy kid.

"If the three of you would allow it, I would like for this kid to have the opportunity to challenge one of the 10 spots," Anthel said.

"To be fair, we should ask the students, since by rules, they are not applicants anymore," the elf said.

The four professors looked at the ten students in anticipation of their answers. The students looked at each other in wary as they were away of just how much talent it would take to have a professor take your side. One by one, the students shook their heads in disapproval as they did not dare risk their chances of getting into the Violet Class.

"You can challenge me if you want," Z said to the boy.

"Me too," Lea piled on.

The face of the boy brightened up after hearing Z and Lea. He looked at Anthel for approval before stepping forward after receiving a nod.

"Uhm, thank you for this opportunity, I am Gale, nice to meet you," the boy bowed.

'I like this kid,' Z thought. He then looked at Lea and saw that she was interested in him as well. Z and Lea locked eyes, and after seeing the look on Z's face, Lea could only turn her head.

"Hello, Gale, I am Z and this is Lea. Either one of us would certainly like to take on your challenge, but somebody in our group just lost to me. Therefore, I feel as though it is my obligation to offer him this chance to redeem himself, right Hakith? But I guess you are too scared to do so," Z said while looking at Hakith with mocking eyes.

Hakith could only glare at Z while trying his best to hold his anger. As much as he want to prove himself, he was uncertain if he could beat Gale.

Lea sighed before piling on, "Sir Z, you should not treat Prince Hakith that way. He is a dignified prince of a prestigious empire of the Dux race. A man of his caliber would certainly not allow the pride of their race to be stepped on."

A cheeky smile appeared on Z's face after seeing Hakith explode in anger. The latter drew his sword and stepped forward before saying, "Lady Lea is right. It is upon me to save the dignity of my race."

'He bit. What an idiot,' Z mocked in his head.

Noel and Maktham looked at each other and chuckled a little after seeing the event unfold before their eyes. "What cheeky brats," Noel whispered.

Gale appeared to be slightly shocked, but he fixed himself and bowed once again, "Hello, Prince Hakith. I am Gale, let us have a nice--"

"Yah, yah. Let's get this over with," Hakith interrupted before assimilating his constellation once more. In-kind, Gale also chanted.

[Oh, Great Eagle Constellation, hear my cry! Assimilate!]

{Constellation: Aquila}

The wind carried Gale like a leaf while enveloping him with air. His shy and cowering personality disappeared as he smiled after feeling the wind. The two clashed with Gale using miniature tornadoes to attack Hakith, and the latter repelling it with his sword.

The fight dragged on for a while, but it was clear that Gale overwhelmed Hakith in terms of talent. The latter looked like a toddler trying to catch a fly as Gale just dashed around him. Hakith's eyes turned desperate after realizing what mistake he made. He cursed Z to his heart for provoking him to accept the challenge, but he could not do anything else aside from that. After a little while, the victor became clear as Gale suffocated Hakith with several tornadoes which the latter was too exhausted to defend against.

"Hahaha! It seems like the victor is clear," Anthel said while proudly looking at Gale.

"Gale, you are now a student of the Violet Class through the authority of Sir Anthel," the elf said.

"You--, alas, you are still avoiding responsibility," Anthel sighed.

"Why would I pay for your actions?"

Hearing their banter, Gale thoroughly bowed at Anthel, deeply thanking him for what he did. Like a benevolent king, Anthel dismissed his worries before leaving with Hakith.

"Hopefully, this is the final look of the Violet Class. From this moment forth, I, Professor Anshth, will be your teacher in theories. I will see all of you in the classroom, at 6 am tomorrow. Dismiss."
