Chapter 7 - Leader

"Gale, come with us," Z said to Gale who obediently followed him and Lea to the dormitories. Of course, Z was just tagging along with Lea as he too did not know where the dormitories were. After walking for a while, they finally arrived at the dormitories. There was a clear sign of amazement in Gale's eyes after he saw the majestic dormitory made of marble and ivory.

"This is our dormitory, there are only ten rooms inside, complete will everything we will need and more," Lea said.

'Ten rooms? A hundred rooms would fit inside this with space to spare!' Gale thought while looking at the dormitory in fascination.

After they went inside, they were greeted by butlers and maids who assisted them to their rooms. "Sir, please go down to the living room, the room behind the grand staircase, at 7 pm per the request of the Dormitory Adviser," the butler said before bidding his farewell.

"How fancy," Z said after seeing just how large and lucrative the room was. There was a kitchen, a living room, and other rooms one would only see in a house inside his room. Seeing the clock, he immediately went to the bathroom to take a bath before heading down.

When he arrived, only Gale was present since it was still 15 minutes before 7. Gale stood up and smiled before greeting him, "Hello, Sir Z."

"Just Z will do," he said before sitting beside him. The two chatted for a while until Lea arrived, creating a three-way conversation. When 7:00 hits the clock, everyone was present inside. Just then, the Dormitory Adviser went in as well.

"Good evening, everyone. My name is Julius Von Mentez, a vampire," the gentleman said with a terrifying smile, revealing his two fangs. He was deathly pale and was wearing a white suit that complemented his long black hair and crimson eyes. "I will be your Dormitory Adviser until the time when you move up to the Special Class. As you may know, this is The South Celestial Academy, therefore making you the South Violet Class. In six months, a competition between all of the Violet Classes from all branches of The Celestial Academy will happen, and at that time, I am hoping for you to shine," Julius said with a smile that send chills down someone's spine.

'This is just the south? Teacher Tzan did not mention that,' Z thought.

"In this event, you will be divided into teams with five members each. I am not thrilled to inform you that The South Celestial Academy Violet Class had ranked dead last for the last three half-decades. Due to this, the academy had mandated increased training, so tough luck for all of you," Julius continued. "I need two leaders. I will give you an hour to decide amongst yourselves. Oh, divide yourselves as well," he said before leaving.

The other seven students inside immediately looked at Z, Lea, and Gale. Despite some of them wanting to take the role, they knew that the three were out of their leagues.

Noticing the gazes, Gale spoke first, "Uhm, I do not want to be a leader."

"That settles it then, Sir Z and Lady Lea will be the leaders," a male elf with long green hair and eyes said as all of them looked at the two full of expectations.

"I do not want to lead as well," Z said, shocking everyone in the room.

"Why?" Lea asked.

"It is taxing. I do not want to exhaust myself, dealing with children who cannot even assimilate their Celestials properly," he replied while looking at the other seven students with disappointment. As much as the seven wanted to rebut, they feared the power that Z had. They just swallowed their anger and accepted the fact that what Z said was true.

Lea could only sigh after hearing Z's reply, "Why are you being a pain?"

Z slightly opened his mouth in shock, but he quickly turned it into a smile before saying, "Because I have the power to be one."

Lea glared at him before scoffing and turning toward the elf who spoke earlier, "What is your name?"

"Oshi, Lady Lea," he politely replied.

"You can be the leader of the other team. Do not worry, I will support you to the fullest. Z will be there too, so you would be fine," Lea said with an encouraging smile which immediately affirmed Oshi.

"No, I would not," Z rebutted.

"You!" Lea exclaimed as she glared at Z.

"I want to be on your team together with Gale."

The table turned silent after Z's stubbornness. The other seven were shocked not because of this though, but Z's brazenness to counter Lea.

"I want to be on Sir Z's team as well," Gale affirmed.

"See? That is what I am talking about," Z laughed.

Lea could only sigh and swallow her anger, "Being with you is not good for my sanity," she said while glaring at Z. "Let us do it this way. I will flip a coin. Call it right and we do it your way, if not, I get mine."

"Deal. Heads," Z joyfully responded.

All of them watched as Lea flipped a golden coin. She covered it with Arcane, clearly intending to manipulate the result. However, Z influenced the coin as well, creating a clash that slowed down the dropping of the coin.

Everyone felt a suffocating force as the two continued their clash, but none of them dared to complain. "Z, can you let me win?" Lea said as she leaned on the table and looked at Z with her soft and gentle eyes. The other men around could not help but swallow their saliva after seeing the gentle beauty of Lea.

Z, on the other hand, sighed before saying, "You are impossible," and letting go of his Arcane on the coin. Lea happily smiled as she watched the coin land in tails. "Thank you, Z," she said with a mocking smile.

"Look at it again."

"You!" Lea looked at him in shock. 'I clearly manipulated it to land on tails. Wait! Did he cast an illusion spell on me? When?' she thought as she looked at Z in horror.

"That settles it," Z said with a proud smile.

"I will honor the bet, but just answer me this. Why are you so insistent on letting them go off on their own?" Lea asked.

"How would they train hard if we are there to serve as their safety nets? Only with them learning complete humiliation and defeat would they know the value of winning."

"Tsk. A wise-man image does not fit you," Lea said, but she agreed at Z deep inside.
