Chapter 26 - Character Dive! 10.0

Hello again, and welcome back folks to the ever-expanding world of Enverdolmal!

I hope as always that you all have been well.

I hope that life has not been too hard for you.

I hope that the wars and violence that our world has experienced as of late have not ruined any of your lives, or taken anyone away from you.

I hope that these stories and characters find you well, and help you get through, or even just temporarily escape whatever it is that may be difficult for you at this point in your life.

I love you all.

Keep your head up okay?

Pain is only temporary.

With all of that being said, how about we get into a few Character Dives!?

I have for you today, a batch of my favorites thus far! (comparatively at least lol)

Several newer characters and a couple of characters who should have had their bio posted a bit further back lol, I am sorry that some of these (I am sure you loyal readers will be able to pick out which ones!) have yet to be posted till now. I will do my best to keep the Character Dives in line with the proper chapters in order to avoid confusion, and also to avoid any character being left in the dust. The last thing I want to do is have anyone's potential favorite character to be left out!

I hope again that this finds you well. Enjoy the content, and I will see you on the other side.

"Blade and Fang. Part 1."

Character: Genrik Mickal.

Species: Human.

Age: 38 HLS.

Class: Soldier- Captain of the Watchmen.

Nation: Northern Zentram. (Village still to be named.)

Weapon:

-Broad sword

-Kite shield (cracked Theodoran Quartz Core at its center.)

-Combat long knife.

-Medium crossbow.

Origin:

Genrik grew up on the streets of Theodora's Eastern ward. He worked an honest job, led and honest life. He climbed the ranks of Knighthood from Fighter to Squire, to Knight.

Unfortunately this would be as far as his career would progress.

At the age of 30, just two years before he was to be promoted to Sentry, disaster struck.

On a mission that would see him travel to a small dorpie on the Northern edge of Zentram in order to investigate a reported Goblin outbreak, he would come to be the lone survivor of an ambush set by a rather clever band of Swamp Goblins (Commonly called Vampoglins by the locals) He alone would be spared in order to pass along a warning to the King of Zentram: The Vampoglins had once again began to rise.

Genrik was bitten by their Chieftain, and sent on his way. The venom from the Vampoglins bite would eventually either stop his heart, or transform him into one of the very things that his men had just died fighting...

With the assistance of Theodora's High Clerics, the venom was extracted. Unfortunately for Genrik, this venom was more of a curse than mere infliction. The process of removing said venom had also cost the man nearly half of his natural internal Aether pool. A side effect that would ultimately leave him unable to preform his duties as a knight any longer since her was very suddenly unable to cast more than half of his thus far learned spells.

With both his pride and his body broken, Genrik left the Kingdom of Theodora, and set off to start anew. He was gifted his pension from the King, and even allowed to keep his Quarts Core since it had been cracked in the ambush. A damaged Quartz Core can no longer absorb or contain Aether, therefore Genrik's became all but useless outside of being a symbol of passed authority.

Genrik chose to go back to the small village at which his men had fallen, even before the King of Zentram could dispatch a small army to deal with the creatures. He would Captain their watchmen himself, and train them in order to keep what happened to his own men from ever happening again. He would train the next generation of watchmen just as the Theodoran Knighthood had trained him.

Within a years time he and his watchmen had rid the village and the forest that surrounded it of the Vampoglins, and although the war between the creatures of the swamp and the Kingdom of Zentram was far from over, his new home in the small, walled village was safe. For five years they knew relative peace. For five years Genrik could sleep soundly, knowing that his new home and people would and could prosper. Early on in the sixth year, rumors began to spread of a wild wolf/man hybrid out and about in the more denser parts of the surrounding forest.

Not only rumors were they, but sightings as well. More and more reports began to come in, some even from Theodora herself. Genrik and his men had been as ready as they could have possibly been on the night that the Beast had arrived... His life would never be the same after that lone encounter.

Weapon:

-Scouts Short spear.

Ripton was born and raised in Kabouterval. As his parents were, as his parents parents were. He was a skilled Scout and surveyor in the service of his dorpies chieftain. Over his thus far short life, Ripton has seen and even worked alongside Laxe on a handful of occasions. Most to do with loose groups of Mudbugs (Forest Goblins) or other such threats to his preciouses dorpie.

His swiftness of foot had been the saving grace on many occasions when Laxe was not around, and his combat prowess was nothing to be scoffed at either. In many a voting season, he had been chosen to be the Captain if the guard, a position that he would always turn down. He preferred the freedom from the walls that was the Scouts life.

Ripton and Laxe's working relationship has caused many a rumor to spread across the dorpie.

Rumors that of course HE didn't mind. Well... just as long as they didn't reach Laxe's ears that is.

He had always wanted to be a Scout, and he has been on the KSC (Kabouterval Scout Core) for nearly ten years to date. His was a young and early start. He was and still is reliable, honest, and a major team player.

"Diamonds in the dark. Part 1."

Character: Vraylin Yor.

Species: Elfym.

Age: 115 HLS or 46 Elfym years.

Class: Knight Vanguard/ Monk.

Nation: Lustria East./ Zentram Theodora.

Weapon:

-Theodoran Quartz Core Gauntlets.

-Bucker shield.

-Impala Bone wand.

Origin:

Vraylin had always been a passivist by nature.

So much so, that it was truly stunning to all around him when suddenly he chose to leave his home nation of Lustria, and join the Theodoran Knighthood. Violence was never his strong point. His was not a hot-blooded temperament, but one of a gentle artist. What made him join was a sense of duty and obligation to the world around him, as his own people tended to be rather seclusive by nature, and he knew that he was different from them in more than just his view of the world.

As they were Elf. Through and through.

He was Elfym. A half breed.

From a very young age Vraylin had been exceedingly gifted when it came to manifesting and manipulating Aether. This was strange, as his clan -Impala Opus by name, and Monks by trade- was known far and wide for their awe-inspiring Martial Arts prowess, and not so much for their Aetheral affinity. This fact, when paired with Vraylin's passivistic nature, made him that much more of an oddity among his people.

He was the first EVER and SINCE to join the Knighthood with a background steeped in both Martial arts, and Forest Monk teachings and techniques. The Impala Opus clan were known to be one of the more open and welcoming clans among the many that made up the Elves of Lustria. This would explain Vraylin's mixed heritage, as most Elves tend to stick to their own blood. His Father had been an intrepid and curious explorer whom had stumbled across his small village many a decade ago. HIs Mother, one of the many Monks who his Father had met and studied with.

Reaching the rank of Knight Vanguard at a relatively young age made him the perfect candidate to serve as a mentor and trainer to many a newly minted Knight and Knight Sentry alike. He was even offered a seat on the Low Court of Theodora on more than one occasion, a title that he has and will continue to turn down for fear of missing out on the opportunity to further teach and train.

Abilities:

-Master of defensive magics.

-Lightning-based spell expert.

-Master hand-to-hand combatant.

-Can absorb lightning to briefly boost his speed and agility.

Stats.

Strength: 7.5/10.

Stamina: 8.5/10.

Agility: 8.5/10.

Aether: 9/10.

Dexterity: 8/10.

Resilience: 7/10.

Resistance: High: 8.5/10 Low: 9/10.

Intellect: 7.5/10.

"Diamonds in the dark. Part 1."

Character: Kit Bolderback.

Weapon:

-Double-sided Theodoran Quartz Core Battle-axe .

Kit is a Sand Dwarf.

Sand Dwarfs are very, VERY literal by nature, and loyal beyond words to their kin and companions. Unlike the Sea, Mountain, and Forest Dwarfs, the Sand Dwarfs are comparatively less seclusive...

They are equally at home in the market places as they are on the field of battle.

Kit grew up out on the dunes that surrounded the Stone City of Klyptorin. Hers was a simple life. As a member of the legendary Beast Head Hunters, her clan was gainfully employed by the Klyptorin Kite. She would rid the region of any and all creatures and monsters that a bounty could be set for. This allowed her to rack up an immense amount of not only experience, but biological knowledge of many of the things she hunted down.

The Klyptorin Kite was the sell sword guild that Kit had been a major acting part of before she had met and befriended Vraylin. While on a coop mission that brought together the combined efforts of her guild and the Theodoran Knighthood, Kit had very nearly been killed by the pack of giant sand rats that the group had set put to purge. Vraylin had saved her, and she had vowed to serve him in any and all ways that she could for the rest of her days.

Sand Dwarfs were big on life debts, and Kit would not take her vow lightly.

Within a weeks time, she has left Klyptorin and made her way North and East to the city of Theodora to began her new life as a mid-year Squire. While typically, one would start the path to Knighthood as a Fighter, Kit's feats as a Hunter had earned her a forward pass up the ranks. She would prove herself worthy of such honors in very little time.

"Diamonds in the dark. Part 1."

Character: Mira Owbloed.

Species: Elf.

Age: 78 HLS or 19.5 Elf Years.

Class: Knight Sentry/Arcanist.

Nation: Lustria West/ Zentram Theodora.

Weapon:

-Narwhale horn Scepter

-Theodoran Quarts Core Tiera.

-Solidified kelp throwing blades.

Origin:

Mira was a twin.

She was born but a minute before her brother Calt Owbloed, and that fact would set the tone of their relationship for the rest of their considerably long days...

Mira was born with surprisingly hot blood. The Clerics were afraid to touch her for the heat that she gave off. They prayed over her, and cast many a blessing and sigil. But with all of their efforts, her temperature never dropped.

The Father of the twins took her in his arms and ran with her to the sea, and under the pale moonlight, on that starless night, he dipped her heated form beneath the rising tide. With a deafening hiss and a great burst of steam, the child's temperature was normalized.

The water slowly, then suddenly began to swirl around the child, and her eyes became aglow with brilliant turquoise light. She was blessed to be chosen by the spirit of "The Dragon which was as Water." and from then on, she would become a Living Vessel.

Legends have it spoken that these "Living Vessels" were avatars to the very Dragons who created the world, and that they alone could keep the world balanced against the onset of war. This level of pressure and responsibility was a lot to bare as one would imagine, and in the end, it was that very since of responsibility that seen Mira joining the ranks of the Lustrian Lance. With her natural talent, and a healthy boost in her Aetheral pool due to the Dragons blessing, Mira quickly absorbed all of her lessons and shot through the ranks, becoming a Captain by the age of only 15 Elf years (60 HLS) But alas: Age was but a number for her. Being "Dragon Blessed" as the people of Lustria would come to call it, gave her above average levels of maturity, insight, intuition, and internal balance of all of the aforementioned.

Her younger brother chose to relocate to Theodora and enlist in the Knighthood instead of the Lustrian Lance, as his sister had. So to then did she, never wanting to be separated from him for any reason. Her skill in Arcane magic, and her natural knack for combat earned her a promotion-by-feat to Knight Sentry.

Abilities:

-Water-based spells.

-Hyper regeneration/Healing.

-Large Aether pool.

-Can pull moister from the air around her.

-Can transform her body into pure water.

-Expert knife throwing.

-Spear/Staff/Lance Expert.

Dexterity: 6.5/10.

Resilience: 7.5/10.

Resistance: High: 8.5/10 Low: 9/10.

"Diamonds in the dark. Part 1."

Character: Calt Owbloed.

Species: Elf.

Age: 78 HLS or 19.5 Elf Years.

Class: Knight Sentry/Summoner

Nation: Lustria West/ Zentram Theodora.

Weapon:

-Hellfire Hollow Halberd.

-Theodoran Partial-Quartz Core Bracers. (Having two smaller Quartz in place of one larger stone allows him to have one in each of his Bracers for balanced utility.)

-Blazing coal projectiles.

Origin:

Calt was born a twin.

He was born but a minute after his sister Mira Owbloed, a fact that he envied as it often left her with the last word in most situations...

Calt was born with unnaturally cold blood. He was so cold to the touch that if he hadn't moved or cried out, the Clerics would have thought him dead. So cold was his skin, that he had to be wrapped in layers of blankets before he could be properly handled. Regardless of what spells of warming were cast, and what blessings were tried, they all had no effect.

In a last ditch effort, the baby was placed in a manger and set as close to the hearth as was possible.

Suddenly his eyes were aglow with a strange and flaring orange light, and both the manger and child burst into flame. So hot was the fire that it could not b approached, and spells of any sort took no effect.

The house was burned to ashes.

And among the flames one could here the giggles and cooing of a tickled infant.

He had been blessed, chosen by the spirit of "The Dragon which was as Fire." From that moment on, he would be a living vessel, just as his sister had become but moments ago.

Unlike his sister, Calt was quiet and standoffish, but not unpleasantly so.

But alas: His birth, and subsequent childhood had been a bit more hectic than hers, and this often left him feeling rather alone and very ostracized. Having friends and family who feared him more than anything, he chose to depart from Lustria at the young age of just 62 HLS (15.5 Elf years.) in search of a new life to lead.

His journey found him not too far to the North and East where he settled in Theodora, electing to join in the ranks of the Theodoran Knighthood. Just as his sister with the Lustrian Lance, his previous feats had gained him both respect and a promotion-by-feat to the rank of Sentry. A role that he is most proud of. His goal? To gain not only prestige, but the love and adoration of his family and peers alike.

Abilities:

-Fire-based spells.

-Hyper Regeneration/Healing.

-Large Aether pool.

-Can generate fire from most heat sources around him.

-Can transform his body into pure flame.

-Coal shot projectiles.

-Spear/Staff/Lance Expert.

Stats:

Strength: 7.5/10.

Stamina: 8/10.

Agility: 8.5/10.

Aether: 9/10.

Dexterity: 7.5/10.

Resilience: 8/10.

Resistance: High: 8/10 Low: 8.5/10.

Intellect: 7/10.
