"He acted weird." Ji Sung said while eating his bento.
"Jo Wo? No, he's always like that. Sometimes he acted cold, then suddenly, he Exploded. He's just him, you know."
"You knew him for a long time, Sir?'
"I have known him for a long time. Before that incident, he was a bit of a playboy, bad boy, and carefree, you know. Then, everything changed. Life is hard for him, Kiddo."
Dae Wo chewed so much before continuing. "Then he changed. He was just like you while he was your age."
Ji Sung just met them. He barely knew their names. But they seem friendly. Dae Wo even bought him a lot of food and drink. Perhaps Yeon paid them to be kind to him? Or were they sincere?
"Hei kid, you don't like pizza or what? You are not on a diet, are you?" Dae Wo laughed and ate it with a look of satisfaction. "Out there, many people were starving, yet you wasted a lot of food. Don't waste any food, Kiddo."
Ji Sung nodded. He sure didn't waste any food, but he forced gluttony. Where does that food go? His belly was wide, but it could hold all that food without spitting it out. Amazing.
After washing his throat with fresh tea, Ji Sung said, "About the story of Mr. Jo Wo's bracelet… What happened to him?"
"Hmm. Yeah, yeah, I promise you, did I?" Dae Wo coughed while scanning his surroundings and pulling his back from the chair. "This is a sad one, possibly a puzzled one. Why, you want to hear it anyway?"
"Because he saw my bracelet with a strange look. It cringes, and I want to know the reason." He even didn't know if the 'cringe' thing happened because of braces. "You already promise, right."
"Yeah, a man never backs down his own words anyway." Listen carefully. I don't want to repeat it for you, kid."
Noded, his curiosity popped up as he prepared his ears for anything coming from Dae Wo's lips.
"A few years ago, when we were still in middle school, a tragedy happened. Jo Wo's brother and his sister-in-law tragically passed away. Until now, no one knows for sure what happened. But, Kid, this is a strange thing." Dae Won's face was severe, like when seated on the toilet.
Filling his courage, Ji Sung asked, "What happened to them?"
"There many rumors spread like wildfire back then. But, I witnessed it with my own eyes." Dae Wo pushed his tone down so that no one could eardrop-ed them.
He continued, "After Jo Wo's sister-in-law passed away without a clear reason. Even the doctor couldn't find her cause of death."
"Is that all?" Ji Sung whispered as he pushed himself forward.
"Then, Jo Wo's brother became strange, he… on the phone, yelled, 'I already do my mission! What the heck? Why, why, my wife!' He said that many times before he threw away his cell phone and his bracelets. One week after that, he was found hanging in his room. That was the final blow for Jo Wo. He snapped out. After that,… he changed, becoming 'serious' Jo Wo."
"Hmm, no wonder he always avoids talking about his past," said a woman sitting next to Do Wo.
Without them knowing, many officers around them, with stern looks, heard the Do Wo story.
"But, What does that have to do with our bracelets?" asked Ji Sung.
Dae Wo hesitated to answer, fearing the other officers would tell Jo Wo.
"Don't worry. We kept it thick." The woman ordered, "Continue, or we tell Jo Wo you are spreading a rumor about him."
Dae Wo sighed. He had no other choice. "Many said those bracelets were the identity of Jo-pok or some secret organization. His brother fails to do some mission, and they retaliate by killing his wife with special poison or something. Then, he died, forced to hang himself."
"Aigo," the Male officer commented as he shook his head slowly. "You have the talent to become a screenwriter or novelist."
"Hei, I am telling the truth."
They started talking without Ji Sung. It's hard to believe it happened because of a Ju-pok, yakuza, or secret organization. His brother said to fail on a mission. Perhaps it could be a quest, not a mission. If that is the case, doing a quest on Terra would be dangerous. If we fail, it could lead to someone's demise, someone he cares about. Mother.
What should he do? He needed money, much of it, fast, for his mother and tuition. But, if he failed, the consequence was dire. No, it has not been confirmed yet. Perhaps Dae Wo was wrong. Such a dilemma. He couldn't be in a hurry to decide whether to go to Terra.
Besides, he was sure his father lived there. He wanted to bring him back and force him to apologize to Mom.
Dozens of clomping shoes arrived from the front hallway. Ten men in black suits came. One Of them dropped his luggage on the desk.
"Mr. Yang Jo Sung, where Mr. Yang Ji Sung." He lined up many papers on a desk. "We are lawyers from Seoul Lawyers Top Class, SLTC. We want to bail out our client, Mr. Yang Ji Sung."
Everyone dropped their jaws. Even Ji Sung knew SLTC was a top-class lawyer team from Seoul that always had top-class clients. Rumor said one contract out of them was worth one million/hour. And yet, now there are ten of them. Some crazy rich must pay for them.
A–are you coming because of the Han family?" asked Dae Wo.
"Han? No, we came here because someone else paid us to become a Yang Ji Sung lawyer. Where he is. Ah, there you are. Childe Yang, please rest assured you will be free soon."
If it was not Han or Kang's family, who would pay them? And why they bailed Jo Sung?
