"You made quite a show, you imbecile."
Syvestian ignored Samael's remark. They are currently at the private study owned by the Emperor with Emperor himself.
"Now, now, Sam. Don't go cursing your own son like that," the Emperor stated.
"For fuck's sake, my liege, he nearly destroyed the hall!" Samael shameless shouted at the Emperor, but the Emperor himself did not mind. That's how it's always been for them.
"He already said he'd fix it," the Emperor reasoned. Samael could only cross his arms and roll his eyes like a brat. Yves blankly stared at the sight before him.
He would be lying if he said that he was not surprised when he saw these two interact, in public eye or not. They're like uncle and nephew.
In a few seconds, they heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," the Emperor had given his permission, and the door then opened. It revealed Callista, Samael's aide, and the Emperor's external aide, Tadeas Knightdale. Tadeas was a half dwarf and half human, but he's more of a human in terms of appearance.
Tadeas are close friends with the couple as well.
When Callista and Tadeas immediately turned to Yves after bowing in respect to the Emperor, Yves knew his hunch was right.
This was a planned thievery.
"… has this bandit group or whatever been around for long?" Yves immediately questioned them, which confused the Emperor and Samael. Callista then threw a crystal at Yves. It was one of his few minor inventions, and it's called 'Projector'. It captures an image and projects this image for the others to see as well.
"Scarlet's Flower has been stolen by 'them' again," Tadeas politely and straightforwardly explained to the other two.
While Yves, was fuming mad at the projected image before his eyes.
It was only an image of a mark left at the Treasury...
A familiar mark of an eye with one wing.
"And yes, they've been around for a while now. We've also been trying to pinpoint what kind of group this is for weeks. This is not the first time we've encountered an addict as well," Callista responded to Yves.
And right before that, the projector exploded in Yves' palm. The four were shocked at his sudden actions.
Syvestian has never been this worked up over an image… or is it what he saw in that image? Or maybe the fact that they hid this from him? They were now confused by his reaction.
Why was he upset?
In a few moments of silence, Yves finally heaved a sigh and began his explanation.
"High Angels," he started and the others listened attentively. "They are what you pertain as the angels, or the guardians who are closest to the heavenly entities, gods… or deities. They have a connection with earthlings now huh..."
The four were shocked...
'He knows of them, alright,' Callista thought.
'Just by looking at the image? He figured that out?' Tadeas thought.
'Just how much does this brat know?' Samael was clearly suspicious of Yves' amount of knowledge, but he never questioned it. It was a plus for him.
Yves could not help but sigh again. "That's all I know, though…" he lied.
This was a necessary lie for him. He will be open about the fact that he's a deity in a human's body, but, he cannot reveal this himself. In any way, he's not even that sure if it is the Council's High Angels that had come to take such a rare plant.
There is an evidence that tells him that it is them, but at the same time, his gut is telling him that it isn't them.
The four other glanced at each other because of what they just heard. They were used to Yves' demeanor of keeping things to himself for their sake. They have gotten used to this behavioral pattern of his.
"This was definitely planned," Yves then continued. "They used that bastard to cause distraction and panic inside the palace, then waited until that plant was unguarded."
The High Angels, even before his arrest, had stolen dangerous contents and substances in his private laboratory. One of these substances were 'Neura', which was a failed potion Yves had made. They stole and used it for hidden experiments and even adding new components. Its purpose was only to buff up their mana and bodies for a certain amount of time.
This did succeed, however, it worked too well.
This resulted to the 'Black Heart', an illness, an infection, or maybe, a side effect from continuously taking in the boosted Neura for more than a month.
This builds up mana inside of the consumer. However, it not only affects the body, but it affects the brain directly as well. It then controls the body to do things out of whim or emotions.
In some cases, it can be controlled, but more than a hundred beings on Heaven had been a victim to this side effect. All of them had the same symptoms.
Insanely buffed bodies, bleeding red eyes, and their veins going black. How long one has been consuming the boosted Neura can be determined by the consumer's blood color below the neck or the body.
And that beast man has been consuming it for a long time.
This means that he's not the only earthling who had consumed this.
"Something feels off though," Yves then continued.
'They are higher beings, I could've felt their divine energy,' he thought to himself. 'So, it could not have been them. In addition, they can steal the plant perfectly even if it was guarded, but they didn't and chose to cause panic instead.'
'Is this a message?'
"I feel like I'm missing a certain piece," he mumbles to himself.
Meanwhile, the Emperor thought of an idea from simply observing Yves thinking to himself.
'It should be the right and perfect time for a reunion,' he thought as he smiled.
"Perhaps, do you need help with the investigation?" the Emperor brought up. All heads turned to him. "I know a handful of people who can help you with not only the investigation, but in dealing with this group as well."
Yves blinked in shock. The Emperor has always been so generous to him, but not to this extent. He never thought the Emperor would have his people assist him personally.
"Well… I can pretty much handle this by myself," Yves hesitated. "However… I will be grateful and welcoming for skilled helping hands."
Yves can only conclude that the High Angels had begun interfering with this Earth because they've been looking for him. It's all his fault. He thought of bearing the responsibility… but since the Empire is involved, it would be respectful to accept their help.
The Emperor smiled in delight. "Wonderful! Then, please reside in the Palace for a couple of days until those people arrive. While waiting, you can also continue on with the investigation with the Knight Royale."
Yves simply nodded, while the three friends were highly suspicious as the Emperor was acting too delighted.
In a moment thought, they understood what his intentions were.
'Ah… so he finally decided huh…' Samael, Tadeas, and Callista thought to themselves, then later turned to Yves.
'Now I'm curious how this little jerk would react.'
Several minutes have passed, and the Emperor was left in his study. Yves and the three friends have left to continue dealing with the problem at hand.
The King's internal aide, George, then entered the room.
He bowed and reported, "All the nobles have gone home safely. They were relieved the moment they found out that the Empire's Genius had captured the monster."
"Where there any witnesses?" the Emperor asks as he placed a Projector crystal down on a case. They were several of them, eight crystals to be exact.
"A few nobles had witnessed the monster flying across the hall from Lord Syvestian's kick, and that's all there is."
"Good. Make sure that the hall is thoroughly cleaned too. Don't leave an evidence that the beast had severed limbs," the Emperor says with a small smile.
"Understood, Your Majesty."
The Emperor then pushed the case of Projectors forward.
"Send this to the kids within this week."
"Kids…" George then realized as he trailed off. "…will that be okay?"
The Emperor smiles.
"It should be. They will be meeting their precious savior, after all. It's a surprise though."
