I see Rev in the stands next to Baku. They both have high expectations of me in this match. So I have to fulfill them. The announcer starts the match and Sinker immediately rushes me.
He doesn't give me enough time to take out my katana. So I block his punch with just mana reinforcement. It sends me flying as expected. For an assassin Sinker is pretty big. He stands at 6'3 with blue eyes and ashy hair.
At the same time as he hit me though I wrapped ice around his legs. Him being stuck gives me enough time to take my katana out. I blitz him from behind using reverse grip and aim right at his neck.
Even though reverse grip isn't practical for most people it allows me to chain my attacks together. When you combine the spin moves from taekwondo with it then the momentum increases.
Allowing for stronger and faster slashes. Which means the longer I keep the combo up. The faster and stronger it gets only way to stop it is to dodge. I can't really remember how I learned this though. I just do it out of instinct.
I hit him again then let the blade go and move behind him. I let snow down all around us and was going to throw him into it. However, I didn't know that members of the Kendrath family were able to turn into pure smoke.
He turns into a cloud then moves back and refigures away from me. As a cloud he was pretty fast and because of it dispersing I couldn't just attack him.
" If hope you didn't think that was impressive, because you haven't seen nothing yet." Sinker says.
" You're right I didn't think that was impressive." I say back to sinker.
Even though I say that I am worried. Mainly because when he goes back into the cloud I can't see him with my echolocation. Smoke doesn't make any noise.
So before he goes back into that form I have to provoke him. I attack him again this time using a normal grip so I don't move too fast for him.
" That form isn't very impressive it's small and you can only use it to run away like a child." I say to him.
He doesn't give me a response at first. so I thought I would have to try harder. However he backs off and goes back into his smoke form. This time though he becomes huge though.
He can't be too big but he would make Rev look like a small child. However because he is such a big mass now and makes noise.
I can see him perfectly. I start speeding up and running around hitting my katana against the floor at high speeds. Now that does make a lot of noise but what it also does is make sparks.
You see smoke itself isn't combustible but, it is a byproduct of incomplete combustion. So all you need is a spark to make it go boom.
Sinker isn't aware of this which makes it real easy to make him explode. After Sinker goes boom I block any debris with my ice. It didn't do much but it did take his left arm. He is sitting there bloodied and battered.
"You know you can forfeit at this point its obvious you are too weak to go against me." I say to him.
He spits out blood and says " I won't be forfeiting any time soon" Sinker says back to me. He takes out a chain and ball and starts swinging it at high speeds breaking the sound barrier.
I start laughing and say. " Woah now this is what I call a fight!"
I dodge the ball as he shoots it directly at my eye. I take the chance to rush him with my katana but he blocks it with the chain.
He starts moving around with the smoke. This time though he's smart about it and only does it in quick bursts. He makes distractions with his smoke and at times uses it to tank what would've been a fatal blow.
The best way to handle someone like that would be to use mana enhancement.
When you deal with someone like a kendrath. Who can literally turn into their power all you have to do to be able to damage them.
Is either use the opposite of their power. So if someone turns into water use fire. However, if you can't do that then you just add mana enhancement to your attacks then you'll damage them.
If they are using mana reinforcement though. Then your mana enhancement has to be stronger than their reinforcement.
He backs off and uses another attack " Bloody ash of the dead" he says. I start seeing ash fall all around me.
Then from the ground up the dead start to rise as smoke and ash. This must be a family ability because an assassin would have no use for it.
As I'm being attacked by the dead I see Sinker send a spear at me. If I would've let my guard down it would've hit me. I just make it curve though and double its momentum and send it back at him.
It pierces him straight through his chest. However smoke just fills the hole that was just there.
" Man can't you just die I got things to do like eat." I say to him.
" Well if you were strong enough then you could kill me easily."
He says back. I ignore his smart remark. He doesn't take much damage because of the smoke. For him to become smoke his molecules would have to move really fast. It also has to be instantly because if it isn't he will become a liquid and die.
So all I would have to do is slow down his molecules enough. Then I can either just kill him their or heat him to where he becomes a liquid.
" You know you aren't very strong. I haven't even pulled out my second blade yet." I say.
That really pisses him off and he starts attacking me with his chain and ball. I dodge all his attacks then blitz him and hit him with my spiral strike. He goes flying but gets right back up like it did no damage.
" Have you ever seen a palace before?" I ask him.
"What are you talking about?" he says.
"Kōri no kyūden" I say.
