Chapter 41 - 41: You hacked? [pt2]

The moderator was having a relaxing day. For the first time in a while, no one had any urgent complaints that required immediate assistance from his side, so the moderator decided to enter his favorite dungeon.

He also decided to message his in-game crush to join him so that he could flex his skills. However, as soon as his crush joined in on the scene, his inbox flashed with messages.

[What's wrong? Are you not going to come inside the dungeon with me? If you do not hurry then we will miss the record for this dungeon.]

The moderator looked at his inbox with an annoyed expression. His hopes of having a free day were dashed in front of his eyes.

[About that. Can you give me a minute? There is a sudden last-minute problem that I need to solve. I will just hurry up and finish my work before joining you back in the game.]

The moderator assured his crush before he teleported to the location of the complaint.

As soon as he reached the location, the moderator wished he had decided to ignore the request or even forwarded it to another person.

The Paladin was going on and on about hacks and timings but frankly speaking, it all sounded like luck to the mod's ears.

[Why is it you again?]

Usually, the mod needed to be a neutral party who listened to both sides and helped resolve the issue.

But even the mod was a human being who got irritated at being called back unnecessarily again and again. And currently, the human being the avatar of 'Controller' was someone the mod was annoyed with.

This single person had managed to get two complaints filed against him for hacking.

'No, do not be annoyed. You need to be professional.'

[You want me to check for hacks and other illegal software, right? Then give me some time and I will check.]

The mod decided not to skip steps this time. He opened a second screen on his side monitor and connected his software. Then, he entered the UID of the account he wanted to check and ran the software.

It was a special software their company had coded that allowed them to monitor the data of a player in real time.

The mod looked at all the data, and it came out to be clean. No hacks or emulators were being used. Heck, there were not even in-game cheats being used by this person.

[there is nothing suspicious in that account. No hacks or mods are being used by Controller. Man, I don't know how you are playing this game but tone it down. I don't want to take time out of my busy schedule for you a third time.]

The mod quickly gave his assurance before hurrying back. His crush was still waiting for him so that they could dungeon together.

But when he reached back to his previous dungeon location, his crush was gone. She had left behind a single message for him to read.

[Sorry, my guild war started. I will meet you later if I have time.]

The mod could not help but feel agitated in his heart.

'Because of that call, I missed my opportunity to spend time with my queen. It is all because of that 'Controller' and his issue of being too good at this game.'

......….

Once the mod was finished giving his verdict, everyone had an awkward expression on their face. But the one who was shocked the most was the Paladin.

'Was it truly a coincidence that allowed Controller to survive at 10 HP? Or was it his skills? But even professionals cannot time this, right?'

The Paladin's mind was filled with all these suspicions. He wanted to ask a senior in his training camp for advice but they were all busy helping other guilds.

[I think you owe an apology to our young player, Controller here. Being accused of something he did not do can be rather annoying, right?]

Boss Xiao's words irked the opposite guild members to the point of spitting blood. They did not want to admit that they were wrong.

But at the same time, the Paladin, Fenrir, knew that he had been wrong.

It did not matter if the kid in front of him had true skills or had gotten lucky. In the end, he had played this game right and deserved all the respect he could get.

[I am sorry for thinking that you cheated, but hey, you did make it easy for me to think like that. So, I think we are even now.]

Fenrir did apologize to Controller but he was not willing to admit his mistake outright.

Not that Olivier minded. He knew that most professional players, as well as trainees, had big egos. They needed to have such strong personalities to survive the harsh world of Esports.

[Hey, what kind of apology was that? You were just accusing the kid even more]

Boss Xiao did not seem to like that apology Olivier was already past it.

[I don't mind putting this conversation to rest now. It is late and I should log off. It was nice playing with you all.]

Before anyone could make any more comments, Olivier decided to log off from the game server and quickly look at the time.

It had gotten later than he expected, so Olivier quickly went to bed and decided to forget all about his situation in-game.

When he logged into the game again, Olivier was met with a notification informing him that he had leveled up 5 times and was now level 45. 5 more levels and he would be able to take on the first ascension quest.

Of course, he did not get to go very far before he was tracked down and met the one person who had the potential to make his gaming life hell.

"Hey Controller, I finally found you. Doesn't it seem like fate between you and me? You are destined to become my underlying sooner or later, so you might as well give in now."

The person with this loud and open mic was Aqua.

How this flamboyant streamer had managed to find Olivier, he had no clue. He just knew that his peaceful farming life for today was over.

"Hey, I'll let you know that it will not help you if you ignore me. You might as well give in and listen to what I say. I just want to be your friend here."

The annoying priest followed Olivier when he moved around in-game. Aqua even managed to find Olivier when he teleported to another place on the map.

In simpler words, Olivier was being stalked by this priest and he had no idea how or why this was even possible.

"Hey, are you trying to run away? I would advise that. Instead, how about I offer you a deal? Help me out at the next event and I will leave you alone. Isn't that a sweet deal from my side?"

The priest offered Olivier this opportunity and it was too sweet not to take.

[I just need to help you once, right? And then you will leave me alone?]

Olivier asked the streamer which caused Aqua to grin.
