"Luna, stop attacking the boss. I will aggro the boss so that you can get away. Aqua, heal Luna and Ella for the time being. Delon, you help me distract the boss."
Olivier shot at the boss and Delon attacked the boss at the same time.
Since the boss was receiving damage from two sides, it did not change its agro target and continued to go after Luna.
"Delon, stop attacking for a few seconds. Let the boss aggro on me first and then you can continue what you were doing."
Olivier ordered but Delon did not listen to him. He continued to try and damage the boss at his own pace.
"Hey kid, do not worry. I know what I am doing. I am an experienced player after all and…"
"Delon, you idiot. You killed me."
Luna yelled into her mic as her avatar died. In the end, the boss had not changed the target and continued to go after Luna.
Then, it finally turned toward Ella, who was the nearest one to the boss. And Olivier decided to take a risk.
He stopped attacking the boss and finally, the boss changed targets from Ella to Delon. But since Delon was a close-range fighter, he was not able to adapt to the sudden target change and ended up dying as well.
There were only three players left alive in the party.
"Should I disband this dungeon? I don't think we can kill this boss anymore."
Aqua summarised as he looked at his team's condition. Two of their three dps were dead. And Ella was almost dead as well with her HP cut in half.
On the other hand, the boss was still healthy. He had half of his HP left and he still had not entered the 'enraged' state yet. Their side had lost.
"No, there is no need to lose heart. We can still finish this dungeon but only if you follow my plan. Ella, I will aggro the boss while Aqua heals you. Once you reach 75% health, use your skill to pull the boss's attention to yourself. And when I tell you, drop the skill."
Olivier's plan was insane. Even the smallest of mistakes could cause their party to die. And if they mismanaged the timing of exchange, then the boss would end up killing their tank.
"Hey, are you insane? Kid, do you even have the skills to back up your talk?"
Luna's sharp voice cut Olivier's reassuring talk. At the same time, even Delon expressed his suspicion.
"I don't know about this. I think you should quit and we should try this dungeon again."
Delon suggested, only to be cut off by Olivier.
"But the same thing will happen again and again. The problem is not our lack of DPS, it's our lack of coordination. And I will prove it to you right now."
Olivier's voice was filled with assurance. He was confident in his skills as a player and it made Luna angry.
"Fine, then let's have a bet. If you win, then I shall follow your orders during this tournament. I will even call you 'master' if you succeed."
Luna promised with a certain voice. She was sure that Olivier would not be able to pull this win off.
"Oh, so you are challenging me? Then, I shall accept your challenge. Just watch and learn how this dungeon can be cleared without a main dps. Aqua, how long will it take for you to finish healing Emma?"
"I am almost done. What do you want me to do in the meantime?"
Aqua asked and Olivier grinned.
"Manage your MP. Do not run out of healing because I will need you to heal a lot."
"Hahaha…."
Aqua let out a dry laugh. But he was curious about what Olivier was planning as well. No one had tried to do a high-level timed boss solo before. Especially with the company since the game scaled the boss's HP according to no of players in a party.
"Ella, now. Use your taunt skill."
Ella used her skill and the boss changed directions. It went after Ella but she managed to endure for the time being.
At the same time, Olivier used most of his skills to lower the boss's HP. He continued it until Ella's HP hit 40%.
"Ella, let the skill go now. Let the boss aggro on me."
Olivier called and Ella let her skill button go. The boss instantly changed directions and attacked Olivier.
But he managed to dodge it in a way that caused Olivier to take reduced damage. He continued it until Ella's HP and MP were above a certain threshold once more.
"Alright Olivier, we are ready."
Aqua called out once he finished healing up Ella.
"Good, we need to do the same thing again. I think I can finish the boss this time."
Olivier quickly dodged the attack once again, taking only 5% damage to his health. The boss turned toward Ella and Olivier finally managed to bring it down.
"You know, I would not have believed that this kid was this skilled if I did not see it with my own eyes. How the hell did you manage to take 'no damage' when facing the monster? Are you hacking? No wait, these accounts are official gaming accounts. They cannot be hacked."
Delon's surprise was evident in his voice. Luna was also shocked by Olivier's skills.
Had she not seen this with her own eyes, she would have never believed that it was possible to reduce in-game damage.
"Well, it's only possible if you have support or if you are facing an enemy. But enough about that. I will expect you to call me 'master' now, big sister Luna."
Luna's face was filled with annoyance. But luckily, no one could see it but herself.
"Ugh, this kid. Do not try and push your luck with me. I will not call you 'master'. No way."
Luna was not willing to compromise on this. Olivier let her rest for now but he had a lot of blackmail available on Luna.
"You both can stop fighting now. Olivier, my manager will come and pick you up tomorrow. We will be staying at the venue for the next few days until the competition ends."
Aqua's reminder was not needed by anyone. Olivier was already counting down time. He wanted to participate in the competition.
"We will all be there. I will meet you in our team's assigned room and we can get to know each other more."
Ella's cheerful voice cut through the tension.
"I am excited to meet you all as well. Hey, can I use you to promote my content? We can participate in a collaborative stream. Olivier, maybe you can explore for the time being?"
Delon offered but Olivier had his idea. He wanted to scout out the competition and see who else was participating.
That way, Olivier would be better prepared for what was to come his way.
"Hmm, I will manage my time somehow. You all can have fun with each other."
Olivier finally cut the call, but he could not force down his excitement.
This competition was going to be amazing and it would also be Olivier's first time going up against professionals.
