Leonardo stirred awake, feeling the warmth of his wife Hailey in his arms. He looked at her peaceful face, nestled in the crook of his neck, and smiled. He wanted nothing more than to stay in bed with her all day, but he knew he had loads of work waiting for him at his desk in the office.
He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead, then slowly slid out of bed, trying not to disturb her. As he got up, he stretched his limbs, feeling the stiffness of a long night's sleep. He padded to the bathroom and started getting ready for work.
As he was coming out of the bathroom, he heard a faint rustling sound behind him. He turned around and saw Hailey rubbing her eyes, still sleepy. She scanned the room, looking for her husband, and then her gaze fell on Leonardo standing by the bathroom door, smiling at her. "Good morning, my love," he said, his voice deep and warm.
Hailey smiled, her voice husky from sleep. "Good morning to you too."
Leonardo walked over to her and leaned in for a kiss. It was a sweet, lingering kiss, full of warmth and tenderness.
After the kiss, Leonardo went back to getting ready for work, while Hailey went to the bathroom to freshen up. She took a quick shower, then put on a fresh pair of jeans and a loose, comfortable sweater. She ran a brush through her hair and then went downstairs to join her husband for breakfast.
As Hailey made her way down the grand staircase, her feet sank into the plush carpet with every step. As she reached the ground floor, the tantalizing aroma of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked pastries filled her nostrils, and her mouth watered with anticipation. As she walked into the dining room, she was greeted by the sight of an opulent breakfast spread that took her breath away. The long, gleaming table was set with crisp white linen, sparkling silverware, and crystal glasses. A magnificent floral centrepiece graced the centre of the table, with fragrant blooms of roses and peonies in shades of pink and white.
At one end of the table, a selection of freshly baked croissants, muffins, and danishes was displayed on a silver tray, still warm from the oven. Next to them was a basket filled with a variety of artisanal bread, including crusty baguettes, fragrant brioche, and rustic sourdough. On another platter, a colourful array of sliced fresh fruits, such as strawberries, melons, and grapes, was arranged in an artful display. Next to it was a large bowl of creamy, velvety yogurt, topped with a variety of crunchy nuts and sweet honey.
In the centre of the table, a silver chafing dish held a rich, golden scramble of eggs, mixed with succulent chunks of lobster and topped with a dollop of crème fraîche. Beside it, crispy bacon, plump sausages, and roasted potatoes sizzled enticingly in their serving dishes. She smiled and sat beside her husband. As they ate breakfast, Leonardo could sense Hailey's unease and asked her what was on her mind. Hailey hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether to share her concerns with him. But then she took a deep breath and spoke up.
"I'm worried about my company," she said, her voice laced with anxiety. "It's been lying dormant for so long, and I don't know if I have what it takes to bring it back to life."
Leonardo reached across the table and took Hailey's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry, my love," he said softly. "We'll get your company back on its feet. I've already contacted the construction company, and they'll be starting work soon. It'll take six months, but I promise you it'll be worth it."
Hailey looked at Leonardo, her eyes wide with surprise. "You've already contacted the construction company?" she asked incredulously.
Leonardo nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I wanted to surprise you," he said. "And besides, I know how much your company means to you. I couldn't bear to see you struggle."
Hailey was touched by Leonardo's thoughtfulness and generosity. She felt a surge of gratitude towards him, and she knew that she could trust him to guide her through the process of rebuilding her company.
After they finished breakfast, Hailey saw Leonardo off to the car and gave him a tender kiss goodbye. As she watched his convoy drive away, she felt a sense of peace and contentment.
