"Take it over? Why is that?" Zang Xin asked, his overpowering aura dissipating like it never existed in the first place. It was only a small portion of his spiritual power yet it was still so powerful.
Wulin and Gu Yuena may seem fine but their mind was in immense pain similar to or even worse compared to Xie Xie. They fought an extremely difficult battle and then were threatened by a peak limit douluo soon after, suffice to say they were tired.
"I don't like the Spirit Pagoda, the people that run it disgust me. So I'll take it over and reform it in my image." Gu Yuena replied confidently, determination and conviction radiating off her in waves. It was the most serious most in the room had seen her be.
"And what is that image?" Zang Xin continued, his amused and pleasant smile once again on his face. He liked the idea of that. With her talent, it was possible and it would cause much less bloodshed than if there was a fight between the four great powers.
"A world where humans and spirit beasts can coexist." Gu Yuena proclaimed confidently, her conviction increasing in intensity, her purple eyes practically on fire as she thought of her goal. At first, she believed eradicating one side of the equation was the only way to survive but that had changed.
She learned that not everyone was evil, not all humans were bad, and not all spirit beasts were good. They could live in peace, she was sure of it. It would be difficult but she would make it happen and she was sure her other half would be on her side.
"Haha! I like it!" Zang Xin said happily, boisterous laughing. Normally it would be seen as insulting but Gu Yuena could tell that he was laughing because he was relieved rather than mocking her.
She didn't understand why he was so excited about such a thing nor why he reacted so strongly but it didn't matter to her. All that mattered was that he was no longer hostile to them and even appeared to be supportive of her goal.
"I'll give you ten years. Show that you can achieve your goal and you'll have the full power of the Tang Sect on your side." Zang Xin offered sincerely, wiping the tears that had formed when he laughed out of the corner of his eyes.
"Why?" Gu Yuena asked suspiciously. It was one thing to be supportive of a goal but it was another entirely to offer the full support of one of the four great powers to accomplish her goal. It was even more dangerous considering her goal was not something the Spirit Pagoda would agree to.
If her goal or their support were discovered the war brewing underneath the surface would happen early. It was a risk he surely knew yet he was willing to enlist the strength of the Tang Sect to her cause?
"As somebody with a goal most would consider foolish or naive, you can say I relate to you. Many people will judge you, and even more will scorn you but succeed." Zang Xin said sincerely, his eyes glazed over as if recalling a distant memory.
"Thank you." Gu Yuena thanked him sincerely, off put slightly by his sincere consolation. She hadn't expected such heartfelt words from him much less for him to have experienced similar things in the past.
Truthfully, she had gotten lucky with those around her. None of the people that truly mattered to her would scorn her goal but the same may not be true for Zang Xin. It was likely that his goal was smaller than hers but that scorn would still exist.
"Don't worry about it." Zang Xin said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "As for, are you part of either of those groups?" He asked once again, finally getting onto the topic at hand. He would accept any other group besides those two, even FUG.
FUG was in a strange position in the mind of the world. To the public, they were the villains that had attacked the Spirit Pagoda, but to those aware of what truly transpired they were perceived as good.
However, it was undeniable that FUG was in fact a cult and an organization that could have potentially caused the destruction of an entire continent. The remains of Grace Mirchea Luslec's attack which had been dubbed the Void Rebellion was still an issue.
The destructive energy from the attack would damage the world at large if it ever escaped the barrier Shrek, the Tang Sect, and the Dou Ling Empire created together however could he truly be blamed?
They were not aware if using such a drastic attack had a logical reason though even if it hadn't most would agree it was warranted. What the Spirit Pagoda had done was so vile that such thorough destruction could be considered a baptism.
Of course, the destructive energy was still an issue and would likely be for dozens of years more however they hadn't just left it to spread. They left their barrier up for a month, plenty of time for them to create their own barrier that would last for as long as required.
"No." Wulin replied simply, disgust palpable in his normally emotionless voice. If there was something he disliked above all else, it was situations like what the members of the newly formed Zodiac group and the Fourth Slayer experienced.
He hated the very idea of it, so strongly in fact that he felt like he would have no qualms destroying each and every Spirit Pagoda branch because of it. He had no doubt they were not free of sin.
"I see. That's good then. Then, as I promised, the Tang Sect will protect you from any unwanted hands." Zang Xin agreed with a smile, trusting in Wulin's claim without a second thought. That bloodlust wasn't something that could be faked.
It was intense and full of so much killing intent that if it wasn't well controlled, poor Xie Xie may have a heart attack. He was already on the edge of a heart attack from everything that had happened in the last five minutes.
'I want to go home!' Xie Xie mentally cried, his exhaustion catching up to him.
