-3rd POV-
Currently, there is a scientist working a late shift performing tests with dangerous substances. That's right, this person is working with chemicals, alone, late at night. Not to mention she's doing overtime too.
Her name is Star Erinhard. Despite her name, she was born with extreme bad luck. The only good thing she considered lucky is the family she was born with.
They always supported her, and so she worked hard to get a job like this. Her luck however, basically forced her into working overtime all the time, so she never got to visit them. She was able to send money and gifts every now and them.
"Today marks the 7th year of working at Heliopolis. Good day to me." Star said with a faint smile that suppressed her sadness.
Her blonde yellow hair now a faint grey, and her eyes had droopy bags than were impossible to cover. She wore a lab coat that had her nametag on it reading , 'S. Erinhard'. The goggles on her face now lifted up to reveal starry yellow orbs, that threatened to die out from exhaustion. She then took steps towards the exit.
She stepped out of the lab and almost fell over the moment fresh air entered her lungs. It was refreshingly painful. She supported herself on the wall, and pushed herself up, regaining her footing.
'I need a pick me up, and then back to work.' Star slowly walked over to the employees lounge due to her exhaustion, but she didn't stop despite it.
Now inside the lounge, she walked over to the vending machine and got a can of coffee. At thing point, she didn't care what kind, just as long as she woke up it'd be enough.
She picked up the can, opened it, and drank it all in one gulp. She woke up, but her body had grown use to the caffeine, so she go several dozen more of varying brands and flavors.
'It's been awhile since I've played any games or watched any anime.' Star had thought to herself, opening her 4th can.
'I wonder how mom, dad and little bro are doing? I want to visit them...' She mused, stating her desires in her mind.
'These damn shifts at Heliopolis are gonna kill me one day. I know it.' She complained about the company. She's one of they're most important people, she contains a lot of knowledge regarding science, math and other subjects. She may have been unlucky, but that curse is what motivated her to become who she is.
'They invited me on a night out, but damn boss wanted me to finish this research paper. He did say extra pay, so that's good.' Heliopolis is a corporation that holds a monopoly of medicine and science in this world. Star is ranked 7th among the top 10 figures of the corp. The reason? Her luck.
She wanted to live a stable life, but instead was hit by the popular train. This caused her schedule to mess up, several people knocking at her door demanding things, and not to mention the higher-ups being total weirdos.
'Still, why does boss look so young despite his pure white hair?' She questioned, but afterward, she shook her head and downed her last can.
With pep in her step, she began to walk back towards the lab and donned her goggles once she was in front of the doors. She stepped in, and took a deep breath.
That was a mistake.
She widened her eyes in pain, and scrunched up on the floor. It felt like her lungs were imploding, and swirling with a new substance. She clutched her chest in pain, and took fast repeating breaths in attempt to stabilize. But it was all for naught.
Her vision was already getting cloudy, and the pain was greatly increasing. This time, the pain shot down towards her legs, they felt as though they were being torn apart and crudely put back together in short time frames.
She wanted to stand, but couldn't budge. She then clutched her head with one of her arms and felt a searing pain in her frontal cranium. Then she felt it lower down towards her eyes, and suddenly blood came out of her sockets. The streamed down mimicking tears.
Finally, the pain flew towards the back then center of her brain. She screamed in agony, with no one around to hear her plead of help.
She took off her goggles in an attempt to see anything around to help, as she did, her eyes were on fire once again. For the last time, she felt this pain, was the last time she'd draw breath.
In the most agonizing way possible, Star Erinhard, ranked 7th of the 10 most important people of Heliopolis, had died on July 7th, 2017.
Cause of Death: Unknown.
/Author Section/
Man, for a fanfiction for a series about wholesome cute girl that is invincible, I made this first chapter pretty dark.
Anyway, after this, it's all rainbows and stuff. So if you liked this first chapter cause of the pain, it won't appear again.
Thanks for Reading!
