Chapter 21 - Results

She places her hand on the orb and the machine begins flipping through the numbers and the magic specialization. It glows a faint color of white and then stops quicker than Rulia.

"Let's see...you are...Ah, You are a Wind magician. You are a power of 909 out of 99,999. Don't worry, you are perfectly normal. The level I am an expert and experienced. Being in the 800 to 1,200 is a common number for students. Now the next!" she says

I raise my hand, but it seems a lot of people began to raise their hands at the same time so I got kind of passed over. I will just wait until there are very few raising their hands.

*Elsewhere a couple of hours later*

A man in white armor approaches the guard in front of the testing exam gates and he is left. Arthur traveled over from Jarleum himself to the Capitol. But why?

"Welcome, your highness..." the knight says.

"Thank you!" he says.

"Arthur?! What are you doing here? Ha! I thought I would never see you walk back in the Academy since you graduated!" a man asks.

"Good to see you again old friend! Or should I say, Char-char!" he says slapping the Hawk Knights shoulder pads."

"C'mon, you haven't called me that since we were Academy students in the same grade. We're supposed to be dignified knights. I the second hand of the Commander of the Eagle watch, and you, a captain of the Lion Guard. We can't call each other by those names. What would the troops think?" he says.

"Meh, who cares Charles! We're mature now. Doesn't matter to me at least!" he says walking past him towards the testing grounds.

They both climb up an observatory that is above the area where the students are being tested and they both take a seat. There seem to be other captains and other officers from branches of Order or teachers watching.

"So, why are you here Arthur? You've never come to these exams ever. Even though I invited you over seven times. But the one time I don't invite you, then you come here!?" Charles yells

"Geez, you're still your loud self. Always yelling. But yes, I never came to these beforehand."

After several seconds of nothing Charles looks at him waiting for him to finish his thought. but Arthur never finishes. Just watches the exams.

"Well!?" Charles yells again

"What? Do you need something?" Arthur asks

"Wha-you...." Charles flips with hands up dramatically and places his right hand over his face. "You are an embarrassment to the crown..."

"I know, but I just came here to watch for once. Especially since I never bother watching prior..."

"That sounds ways too simple of an answer for you to give me. you never do something for the sake of doing something...I know that much about you man."

"Who knows...but it does seem there is so much talent here."

"You just got here how would you know?" Charles says confused

"You just know, you know? Besides I am curious as well."

"Hmm...." Charles groans with suspicion in his voice watching the exams.

*Back to Daniel *

My ass is hurting on these seats...There have been a couple of high-level magical-powered people. It seems the beast men naturally have the physical tests at a greater advantage. While the elves have a greater advantage in magical power. I did see a Cloven girl with brown hair kick the bag so hard that I thought I hear the ground shake. Got a record of 2,289 pounds of force with that kick. But it seems humans seem to be at a medium power level and almost neutral not naturally specializing over one or the other.

It seems the ones in white uniforms also came and they've already caused a stir. They seem to be stronger in magical abilities and even physical ones. Guessing that's why they are expected to have. Arthur warned me about royals so I will keep an eye on them.

A white-uniformed student gets up from his seat and is walking over to the magical exam after excelling in the physical one. He scored 370 in contraction and 990 in kicking and 860 in punching in extending. Apparently, those are the short terms for pulling tests and punching tests.

The orb is measuring his magical power and his power begins to glow brightly. The magical finally stops at a...

"5,909 power level!?" Rulia yelps in shock

The crowd of students begins to murmur and make chatter quickly, but the students in white uniforms seem to be unphased. And even smirking. Punchable smirks it seems...

[Do it!]

"You seem to specialize in wind magic, but the power you have is no doubt exceptionally strong. I dare say you are at an expert level already!" Rulia praises. He seems to have a slight but small smirk of satisfaction

"As expected of royalty!" someone yelps, and then a crowd of female voices begins yelping and screaming at him. I swear I am already going insane on the first day...

"Please, please! Calm down, student! We still have one last student, who seems to have chosen not to participate in this exam this whole time..." Rulia states almost coldly.

"Eh?" I say briefly pointing to myself in the back row.

Some glance behind themselves and past others to see me. With a somewhat dumbfounded look on m face.

"Ew..." someone says, cutting the silence

EH?!

[Ha!]

"Well, seems someone had been avoiding exams! Hahaha! Don't fret boy, come down, and let's see your physical exams" Argus states waving me down.

I get up and feel somewhat stiff from sitting down for a couple of hours. Making a couple of noises stretching, which someone laughs a bit.

"Who is that guy?" someone asks

"I don't know...Looks like an Easterling. He must be very far from where he is from then"

"I don't, I didn't see him when we entered the arena, I think he might've come late"

"What happens to his face? Looks like he got mauled by something?"

"Who knows, maybe it's an Easterling tradition to remove their own eyes."

I was not late I was here in the back row...

I pass briefly almost as time slows down when my eyes make contact with the blonde hair guy who had a power level of 5,909. Almost like a soulless void in his eyes. Concerning, but not to draw my attention much.

I finally arrive at the circular platform in the arena and jump on it with my hands still in my pocket in a very calm manner.

Argus gestures to the box for contracting, and I do just that, I pop a couple of my knocks and then with both hands pull up

[Hehehe]

What do you think your-

As I pull up and speak to Seila in my head the handle breaks instantly and I stagger back by a few steps.

"Uh...." I look at the broken metal part of the hand which connects the handle and the box had snapped off.

The rod is solid metal so for it to snap is kind of surprising...

"Uh...I think I broke it...Hehe...he...." I laugh awkwardly

*sigh* "Well if the handle broke it doesn't mean the machine itself did, let me see what the peak force pulled wa-Uh....."

"Uh oh did it not record it?! I waited hours for this!" I cry out briefly

"Uh, no kid...the record for you is 890...Highest so far out of all the students...but why did it break that easily...."

As a brief silence occurs out of the students in their seats I see people appear to be mourning to one another. As I look around as Argus looks at the number and hits it a couple of times to make sure it didn't get faulty. But as he does that some students begin making comments and murmurs.

"He doubled over what that royal did!" someone comments

"Did he use some kind of foreign technique!? I didn't see it!

But as I look around a bit nervous I see the students with white uniforms somewhat with concerned looks on their faces and even the blond one looking at me without breaking. I frown briefly and stick my tongue out at him.

[Why are you like this...]

"Why are you like this!" I yell

But then quickly realize I just yelled basically at no one since no one else can hear Seila but me

[Exactly as I planned]

"Ahem, can I proceed to the next physical test?" I ask argus

"Yeah, I will just need to get a new block. This one was brand new and just yesterday arrived..."

I stand at the bag and feel it out a bit and see if I find a suitable spot I want to put all my power into. I don't think I will break this one, but even if I do, I have to show how much I can do.

Get into a stance more similar to a Muay Thai and then land and kick to the side with a loud clap in contact I then do it 6 more times conceptually. Then rest and calm myself down.

"*huff*...*huff*...How...*huff*...How was that sir?"

Argus writes down the number and gives me a look and announces.

"1,190 in kicking!"

*GASPS*

"H-how is this possible!? He did better than Lucian!" a student in the white uniform announces from the crowd.

I am guessing Lucian is the blond guy who was staring at me.

I then position myself into a striking position but from my knowledge, it is not a speed test, but a physical strength test, so I need to drive my fist into the bag. I get my body into a frontal position to the bag, and then as I turn my hips, I then with a sudden twist of my hips and legs, drive my right fist into the bag

*FWCHIING*

The entire machine moves about 2 feet, but I feel something on my fist afterward. I pull my fist back and see I have created a big crease where I forced my fist.

I then readjust myself, and strike and second, then a third, then a fourth, and then eventually to a 10th attempt. But yet I don't feel tired.

I finally stop and after getting out of ym stance I realized I exploded the bag behind the back. I might've caused it to rip open from the other side.

I see sand leaking out from the back and kind of feel a bit nervous. I turn to Argus whose eyes are quite wide as he writes down some things.

"You got a 1,389! Not bad kid! In fact, you could severely injure someone with that right hand ha! I bet you've been in a couple of brawls for you to be that powerful. you seem to be physically as strong as a beastmen!"

I chew the inside of my mouth a bit but nod and move on to the next test

[You seem calm. Would've expected you to have been screaming more]

Why would I scream?

[Don't know...Just would assume]

I place my hand before Rulia could say anything and the orb within seconds glows a bright white as if I got flash banged and I even have to turn my head away. This lasts for several seconds and someone even screams out a question

"Why is this thing taking so long?!"

But after a couple of seconds, the light begins to finally dissipate after 40 seconds and I finally look at the orb, which then cracks instantly and a sudden amount of black-like smoke appears from the inside.

"W-what?! How did you break it?!" Rulia says concerningly

"I-Uh, I didn't do anything different from anyone else! Uh-" I look over at the numbers and what drags my attention is that I am power level....0

Excuse me?

[Okay, I would laugh at you like I usually do, but even that seems very strange. Almost...sus....]

What the hell does that mean? Do you mean suspicious?

"Huh...you have zero magical power? Strange...That wouldn't make sense with how brightly the orb glowed...Huh?" she looks over and sees a type of magic I specialize in and is shocked briefly

"HUH?!" she yelps louder than a cat.
